A study on the fabrication technology of ceramic interconnect for the SOFC by wet process (습식법을 이용한 고체산화물 연료전지용 세라믹 연결재 제조 특성연구)

  • 고체산화물 연료전지(SOFC)에서 사용되는 연결재의 주 기능은 각 단위 셀의 연료극과 다음 셀의 공기극을 전기적으로 연결하여, 공기와 사용연료의 분리역할을 하기 위하여 사용된다. SOFC용 연결재는 다른 구성요소 소재보다, 높은 전자 전도성, 낮은 이온전도성, 우수한 기계 적강도가 요구되며, SOFC는 고온에서 작동되기 때문에, 상온에서 작동온도까지 다른 요소 소재들과 유사한 열팽창계수와 물리, 화학적으로 안정성이 요구된다. 현재 연결재 제조기술은 EVD, CVD, plasma spraying, tape casting 등 다양하게 연구되고 있으며, 본 연구는 세라믹 연결재 증착방법 중 저렴한 비용으로 대량 생산이 용이한 습식법(dip coaling)을 적용하여, 연료극 지지체식 flat-tube형 고체산화물 연료전지의 지지체를 위해 세라믹 연결재를 제조하고, 그 특성을 연구하였다. 세라믹 연결재로써 선정한 합성조성은 LaCr $O_3$에 Ca이 치환 고용된 L $a_{0.6}$C $a_{0.41}$Cr $O_3$으로 pechini법으로 합성하였다. 합성된 조성은 100$0^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 하소후 가속 Ball Milling하여 0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$의 평균입자크기를 얻을 수 있었다. XRD 상분석결과 perovskite상 (L $a_{1-x}$ Ca/x/Cr $O_3$)과 CaCr $O_4$를 얻을 수 있었다. slurry를 제조하여 막의 밀착성을 증진시키기 위해 sand blasting시킨 flat tube지지체에 진공펌프를 이용하여 소재내부와 외부의 압력차로 dip coating한 후, 140$0^{\circ}C$로 소결 하였다. coating 결과 박리현상은 없었으나, 표면과 단면의 SEM분석결과 다소 porous한 박막층이 형성되었으며, Ca이온이 지지체로 permeation되는 현상이 발생하였다. 이와 같은 결과로부터 보다 치밀한 박막생성을 위해, slurry 제조조건을 변화시켰으며, Ca이온의 migration을 막기 위해 barrier layer를 이용하였다 완전 소결된 지지체는 가스투과도와 전기전도도측정을 통하여 특성을 평가하였다.였다.다.

Fabrication of $TiO_2$ Electrode with Seawater; Production of Hydrogen and Cr(VI) Reduction (해수전해질을 활용한 광전극제조 및 광활성 평가)

  • The present works were performed that titanium foil was anodized in various dilution ratios of seawater and distilled water with 10V external voltage applied, then annealed at $450^{\circ}C$ to obtain $TiO_2$ on the Ti substrate. The prepared samples were characterized by instruments (XRD, SEM, and photocurrent) and used to investigate rate of hydrogen production in photoelectrochemical cell as well as Cr(VI) reduction. As the results of experiments, the anodized $TiO_2$ in seawater electrolytes, which are ranged from 15 to 50 times dilution of seawater, was showed a relatively higher hydrogen production (ca. 97~110 umol/hr-$cm^2$) and Cr(VI) reduction (ca. 95% reduction).

  • Ceramic ink-jet printing technology in art tiles, decorated tablewares and other porcelain products has many advantages of fast and precision printing of various images with high efficiency and low cost. For the application to ink-jet printing, ceramic ink requires a stable dispersibility with nano-sized pigments. In this paper, characteristics of pink-red aqueous ceramic ink for ink-jet printing was demonstrated. $CaCr_{0.1}Sn_{0.8}SiO_5$ pigment was synthesized using solid state reaction and deagglomerated using attrition milling. The aqueous ceramic ink contains 10 wt% of the obtained $CaCr_{0.1}Sn_{0.8}SiO_5$ nanopigment with 0.4 wt% of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as a dispersion agent. Viscosity of $CaCr_{0.1}Sn_{0.8}SiO_5$ aqueous ceramic ink was adjusted using 0.18 wt% of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) for a suitable jetting from the nozzle. The prepared pink-red ceramic ink showed a good jetting property with formation of a single sphere-shaped droplet after $180{\mu}s$ without a tail and satellite droplet.

Environmentally Adaptive Stabilization of the Hazardous Heavy Metal Waste by Cementious Materials(I) (산업폐기물 중의 유해중금속의 환경친화적 안정화 처리(I))

  • The solidification/stabilization mechanism of each cementious material was investigated. It was found that when $C_3$S was hydrated , the Pb element could be transferred to the insoluble Ca[Pb(OH)$_3$.$H_2O$]$_2$and the Cr element to the CaCr $O_4$$H_2O$. The addition of heavy metal tends to delay the hydration until initial 7 days. The Pb element as also delayed the hydration and the Cr element was substituted for the ettringite. On the occasion of the hydration of $C_4$ $A_3$ $S^{S}$, the Pb and Cr ions were solidified/stabilized by the substitution into the ettringite and/or monosulfate. Leaching of the Pb, Cr and Zn elements in the solidified material was extremely little, indicating that heavy metals were effectively solidified/stabilized in the hydrated cementious materials. Solidification/stabilization of heavy metal ions in the industrial wastes such as the STS, BF and COREX sludge was investigated. In case of the mixing ratio of cement and slag was 3 : 7, leaching of hazardous heavy metal ions was very little, indications that the solidification and stabilization was very successful.l.

  • Valence states and electronic structures of Cr-doped $Nd_{1/2}A_{1/2}Mn_{1-y}Cr_{y}O_3$(NAMO; A=Ca, Sr) manganites have been investigated using x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and high-resolution photoemission spectroscopy (PES). All the Cr-doped NAMO systems exhibit the clear metallic Fermi edges in the Mn $e_{g}$ PES spectra near $E_{F}$. The spectral intensity at $E_{F}$ is higher for Cr-doped N $d_{l}$ 2/S $r_{l}$ 2/Mn $O_3$(NSMO) than for Cr-doped N $d_{l}$ 2/C $a_{l}$ 2/Mn $O_3$ (NCMO), reflecting the stronger metallic nature for NSMO than for NCMO. The measured Cr 2p XAS spectra are found to be very similar to that of C $r_2$ $O_3$, indicating that Cr ions in Cr-doped NAMO are in the trivalent C states ( $t^3$$_{2g}$). The Cr 2p XAS data are consistent with the Cr 3d PES spectra located at ∼1.3 eV below $E_{F}$ and having no emission near $E_{F}$.

$La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}Cr_{0.9}Co_{0.1}O_3$에 소결 조제 첨가에 따른 물리적 특성 변화

  • SOFC는 다른 연료전지보다 상대적으로 높은 구동 온도를 가지며 그로인해 높은 에너지 효율을 가진다. 먼저 금속연결제의 경우 높은 고온에서 산화 반응이 쉽게 일어나기 때문에 이로 인하여 연결재의 주요 특성인 전기전도도의 감소와 부피변화로 인한 크랙등이 유발되어 연결재의 주요 기능인 전기적인 연결 뿐만 아니라, 물리적으로 양극과 음극의 차폐 또한 어려워져 장기 구동에 있어서 주요 결함의 원인이되고 있다. 이로 인하여 많은 세라믹 연결재의 개발이 진행되어왔고, 이중에서 perovskite-structure를 가지는 LCO계의 연결재에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. $LaCrO_3$는 열팽창 계수가 주요 구성소재들과 유사하다는 장점과 도핑과 친환으로 인하여 특성제어가 용이하다는 이유 때문에 주로 사용되고 있다. 그러나 $LaCrO_3$는 낮은 전기전도도와 높은 소결온도에서 Cr휘발되는 단점이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해서 A에 희토류와 B-site에 전위금속을 치환하여 소결 온도를 낮춘 연구들이 진행 되었다. 본 연구에서는 이런 결과 중 $La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}Cr_{0.9}Co_{0.1}O_3$조성에 소결조제를 첨가하여 그에 따른 특성변화를 관찰하였다.

Clay adsorptive membranes for chromium removal from water

  • Cost effective clay adsorptive microfiltration membranes were synthesized to remove Cr (III) from high polluted water. Raw and calcined bentonite were mixed in order to decrease the shrinkage and also increase the porosity; then, 20 wt% of carbonate was added and the samples, named B (without carbonate) and B-Ca20 (with 20 wt% calcium carbonate) were uniaxially pressed and after sufficient drying, fired at $1100^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. Then, physical and mechanical properties of the samples, their phase analyses and microstructure and also their ability for Cr(III) removal from high polluted water (including 1000 ppm Cr (III) ions) were studied. Results showed that the addition of calcium carbonate lead the porosity to increase to 33.5% while contrary to organic pore formers like starch, due to the formation of wollastonite, the mechanical strength not only didn't collapse but also improved to 36.77 MPa. Besides, sample B-Ca20, due to the presence of wollastonite and anorthite, could remove 99.97% of Cr (III) ions. Hence, a very economic and cost effective combination of membrane filtration and adsorption technology was achieved for water treatment which made microfiltration membranes act even better than nanofiltration ones without using any adsorptive nano particles.
