  • The complementary relationship-based evapotranspiration models, namely, AA model of Brutsaert and Stricker (1979) and the CRAE model of Morton (1983) was applied to two permanent stream watersheds Jeju island for the first time, and their major optimal parameters were suggested in this study. The representative watersheds for model calibration and validation were selected as the Hancheon watershed located in the northern part of the Jeju island and and the Kangjeongcheon watershed in southern Jeju island, respectively. The estimated actual evapotranspiration for the Hancheon watershed was compared with the result by the hydrological model, and the major parameters of the AA and CRAE models were calibrated until their results match the hydrological simulations. Through the iterative estimations, the optimal parameters were determined as ${\alpha}=1.00$, $M=30.0Wm^{-2}$ of the AA model, and $b_1=33.0Wm^{-2}$, $b_2=1.02$ of the CRAE model. The calibrated AA and CRAE models were applied to the Kangjeongcheon watershed for model validation, and it was found out that both models can accurately produce the actual evaporation on annual and semiannual bases.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the complementary relationship-based evapotranspiration models, namely, advection-aridity (AA) model of Brutsaert and Stricker and the CRAE model of Morton for estimating actual evapotranspiration. Both models were applied to the Bokhacheon middle-upper watershed, and their estimates were evaluated against the water balance estimate. The calculation was made on a daily basis and comparison was made on monthly and annual bases. For comparison, the water balance estimates were not obtained from the observed precipitation and streamflow data but were based on the simulated data by using integrated watershed model, SWAT-K which is the revised version of SWAT. The reason not to directly use the observed data for water balance estimate is that the credible record period is not sufficient and the streamflow has been altered due to water use and release. Overall, the results showed that both AA model and CRAE model with their original parameters overestimate annual and monthly evapotranspiration, and the large difference between the complementary relationship-based approach and the water balance approach occurs especially for the dry season from Nov. to Mar. It was found out that the parameters, particularly for the advection related parameter, must be recalibrated to accurately produce monthly and annual regional evapotranspiration for this study area.

  • Hydrological models simulate the land phase components of the water cycle and provide a mechanism for evaluating the effects of climatic variation and change on water resources. Evapotranspiration(ET) is a critical process within hydrological models. This study evaluates five different methods for estimating ET in the SLURP(Semi-distributed Land Use Runoff Process)model, in the Yongdam basin. The five ET methods were the FAO Penman-Monteith, Morton CRAE (Complementary Relationship Area Evapotranspiration), the Spittlehouse-Black, the Granger, the Linacre model. We evaluated the five ET models, based on the ability of SLURP model to simulate daily streamflow, and How the five ET methods influence the sensitivity of simulated streamflow to changes in key model parameters and validation SLURP independently for each ET methods. The results showed that the Merton CRAE model had more physical significance and gave better agreement simulated stream flow and recorded flows. It noted that the Morton CRAE model might be more appropriate for the simulation of the actual evapotranspiration in SLURP hydrologic model.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate monthly Morton evapotranspiration (ET) using normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) from MODIS satellite images. Morton ET for land surface conditions was evaluated by using daily meteorological data, and the monthly averaged Morton ETs for each land cover were compared with the monthly NDVIs of three years (2000-2002) at Chungjudam Watershed. There was a high correlation between monthly NDVI and Morton ET for the watershed with average coefficient of determination, 0.80. By comparing the MODIS NDVI ET with SLURP Morton ET, the SLURP ET was smaller than the MODIS NDVI ET. This was estimated from the consideration of soil moisture condition for the ET occurrence in the SLURP model, the limited information from the monthly NDVI values, and the errors from the derived regression equations.

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of character traits of employees of consulting firm on job satisfaction through self-leadership and self-efficacy. The proposed model is based on big5 model of Coasta and McCrae(1992). To validate the proposed model, structural equation model is analyzed with the valid 140 questionnaires collected from Seoul and nearby cities by using Smart PLS 3.0. The results are as follows. First, extraversion has a positive effect on self-leadership, not on self-efficacy. Second, agreeableness has a positive effect on self-leadership, not on self-efficacy. Third, conscientiousness has a positive effect on both self-leadership and self-efficacy. Fourth, emotional stability does not have a positive effect on both self-leadership and self-efficacy. Fifth, openness to experience has a positive effect on both self-leadership and self-efficacy. Sixth, self-leadership has a positive effect on self-efficacy. Seventh, self-leadership has a positive effect on job satisfaction. Last, self-efficacy has a positive effect on job satisfaction. This research proves that, while the character of employees generally forms the meaningful relationship with self-leadership and self-efficacy, in some entries of Big 5 character elements it has still produced the different results with the previous researches, which betrays that the relationship between one's character and self-leadership and self-efficacy can differ according to the characteristic of jobs. It requires further study to prove how each of Big 5 elements differently effects on self-leadership and self-efficacy according to diverse characteristic of jobs.

  • This study was proposed as an exploratory study for understanding the biological bases and structures of three personality models: Eysenck's PEN model, Gray's BIS/BAS model, and Costa & McCrae's Five Factor Model, which was chosen as the major descriptive model regardless of its biological bases. Besides, Eysenck's impulsivity scale, IVE, was added to demonstrate the relationship of P and impulsivity. Concerning personality, most previous reports have explored the relationships between P300 and the introversion-extraversion of Eysenck's theory because of its putative biological bases. In the present study, forty-eight undergraduate took four personality batteries (ERQ-R, NEO-Pl-R, BIS/BAS, and IVE). Two types of oddball tasks including different stimulus duration were used to induce ERPs (50ms for task 1, 300ms for task 2). Distributional topographies of correlation coefficients with personality traits and ERP components were drawn, and considered for the consistent interpretation of the personality model structures. Even though all equivalences for extraversion of personality batteries showed similarities for their intra-correlation, their correlations with P3 amplitudes were dissociate. Eysenck's E might not be the proper psychometric measure for elucidating its biological bases. The present study supported the negative relationship of P3 amplitude and extraversion, which is the consensus of previous studies. Neuroticism and Psychoticism showed correlations with the earlier sensory processing components such as N1 and P2. This result might explain the reason why most of studies have failed to find biological connections relating them. Interaction between gender and personality traits should be considered for the interpretation of correlations. Two types of auditory stimulus duration had different sensitivity to personality traits.
