  • 최근 CrZrN 코팅을 기반으로한 다양한 박막의 합성을 통해 코팅의 경도, 내마모성 등의 기계적 물성을 향상시키는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 높은 경도, 낮은 마찰계수을 나타내는 CrZrN 코팅과 이 박막의 고온 특성을 향상 하기 위한 CrZrN/CrZrSiN 다층 코팅 박막을 합성하고 그 특성을 분석하였다.

Electro-deposition and Crystallization Behaviors of Cr-C and Cr-C-P Alloy Deposits Prepared by Trivalent Chromium Sulfate Bath (황화물계 3가 크롬도금욕에서 크롬-탄소 및 크롬-탄소-인 합금도금의 전착과 결정화거동)

  • Chromium-carbon (Cr-C) and chromium-carbon-phosphorus (Cr-C-P) alloy deposits using trivalent chromium sulfate baths containing potassium formate were prepared to study their current efficiency, hardness change and phase transformations behavior with heat treatment, respectively. The current efficiencies of Cr-C and Cr-C-P alloy deposits increase with increasing current density in the range of 15-35 A/dm$^2$. Carbon content of Cr-C and phosphorous of Cr-C-P layers decreases with increasing current density, whereas, the carbon content of Cr-C-P layer is almost constant with the current density. Cr-C deposit shows crystallization at $400^{\circ}C$ and has (Cr+Cr$_{ 23}$$C_{6}$) phases at $800^{\circ}C$. Cr-C-P deposit shows crystallization at $600^{\circ}C$ and has (Cr+Cr$_{23}$ $C_{6}$$+Cr_3$P) phases at $800^{\circ}C$. The hardness of Cr-C and Cr-C-P deposits after heating treatment for one hour increase up to Hv 1640 and Hv 1540 and decrease about Hv 820 and Hv 1270 with increasing annealing temperature in the range of $400~^{\circ}C$, respectively. The hardness change with annealing is due to the order of occurring of chromium crystallization, precipitation hardening effect, softening and grain growth with temperature. Less decrease of hardness of Cr-C-P deposit after annealing above $700^{\circ}C$ is related to continuous precipitation of $Cr_{23}$ $C_{6}$ and $Cr_3$P phases which retard grain growth at the temperature.

Quantitative Assessment of Initial Wear Characteristics of CoCr-Based Alloys (CoCr 기반 합금의 초기 마모 특성에 대한 정량적 평가)

  • CoCr-based alloys have been developed as wear-resistant materials owing to their excellent mechanical properties and strong wear resistance. The purpose of this study is to experimentally assess the frictional and wear characteristics of CoCr-based alloys slid against two different counter materials subjected to various normal forces to determine the expansion applicability of CoCr-based alloys. CoCrMo and CoCr alloys were selected as the target materials and NiCr and NiCrB alloys as counter materials. Experimental tests were performed using a pin-on-reciprocating plate tribo-tester under dry lubrication. Before performing the tests, the surface of the specimens was observed through confocal microscopy and the hardness was measured using a micro-Vickers hardness tester. The wear volume of the plate was calculated at the end of the tests using confocal microscope data, and the wear rate was quantitatively obtained based on Archard's wear law. From the results, the wear rates of the CoCrMo specimens that slid against NiCr and NiCrB are 7.69 × 10-6 ㎣/Nm and 5.26 × 10-6 ㎣/Nm, respectively. The wear rates of the CoCr specimens that slid against NiCr and NiCrB were higher than those of the CoCrMo specimens by factors of approximately 4 and 8, respectively. The CoCrMo specimens further exhibited lower friction characteristics than the CoCr specimens. The findings of this study will be useful for expanded applications of CoCr-based alloys as wear-resistant materials for various mechanical parts.

Effect of Various Interlayer Deposition on Room Temperature and High Temperature Properties of CrAlN Coatings (다양한 중간층 증착이 CrAlN 코팅의 상온 및 고온 특성에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구)

  • CrAlN 코팅은 높은 경도, 낮은 표면 조도 등의 상온에서의 우수한 기계적 특성 이외에 고온에서 안정한 합금상의 형성으로 인하여 우수한 내산화성 및 내열성을 보유하여 공구 코팅으로의 적용 가능성이 크다. 그러나 최근 공구사용 환경의 가혹화로 인하여 코팅의 내마모성 및 내열성 등의 물성 향상을 통한 공구의 수명 향상이 필요시 되고 있으며, 다양한 코팅 물질을 활용하여 다층 코팅을 합성함으로써 난삭재용 공구 코팅의 물성을 높이는 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 CrAlN 코팅과 WC-Co 6wt.% 모재 사이에 CrZrN, CrN, CrN/CrZrSiN 등의 중간층을 합성하여 CrAlN 코팅의 상온 및 고온 특성을 향상시키는 연구가 진행되었다. 합성된 코팅의 구조 및 물성을 분석하기 위해 field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), nano-indentation, atomic force microscopy(AFM) 및 ball-on-disk wear tester를 사용하였다. 코팅의 고온 특성을 확인하기 위해 코팅을 furnace에 넣어 공기중에서 30분 동안 annealing 한 후에 nano-indentation을 사용하여 경도를 측정하였고, $500^{\circ}C$ annealing 코팅의 표면 조도 분석 및 $500^{\circ}C$에서 마찰마모시험을 실시하였다. CrAlN 코팅의 상온 특성을 분석한 결과, 모든 코팅의 경도(35.5-36.2 GPa)와 탄성계수(424.3-429.2 GPa)는 중간층의 종류에 상관없이 비슷한 값을 보인 것으로 확인됐다. 그러나, CrN/CrZrSiN 중간층을 증착한 CrAlN 코팅의 마찰계수는 0.33로 CrZrN 중간층을 증착한 CrAlN 코팅의 마찰계수(0.41)에 비해 향상된 값 보였으며, 코팅의 마모율 및 마모폭도 비슷한 경향을 보인 것으로 보아 코팅의 내마모성이 향상된 것으로 판단된다. 이것은 중간층의 H/E ratio가 코팅의 내마모성에 미치는 영향에 의한 결과로 사료된다. H/E ratio는 파단시의 최대 탄성 변형율로써, 모재/중간층/코팅의 H/E ratio 구배에 따라 코팅 내의 응력의 완화 정도가 변하게 된다. WC 모재 (H/E=0.040)와 CrAlN 코팅(H/E=0.089) 사이에서 CrN, CrZrSiN 중간층의 H/E ratio는 각각 0.076, 0.083 으로 모재/중간층/코팅의 H/E ratio 구배가 점차 증가함을 확인 할 수 있었고, 일정 응력이 지속적으로 가해지면서 진행되는 마모시험중에 CrN과 CrZrSiN 중간층이 WC와 CrAlN 코팅 사이에서 코팅 내부의 응력구배를 완화시키는 역할을 함으로써 CrAlN 코팅의 내마모성이 향상된 것으로 판단된다. 내열성 시험 결과, CrN/CrZrSiN 중간층을 증착한 코팅은 $1,000^{\circ}C$까지 약 28GPa의 높은 경도를 유지한 것으로 확인 되었다. $500^{\circ}C$ annealing 후 진행된 표면 조도와 마모시험 결과, 모든 코팅의 조도 값 및 마찰계수는 상온 값에 비해 증가하였으며 CrN/CrZrSiN 중간층을 증착한 CrAlN 코팅의 변화량이 가장 낮은 값을 보였다. 이는 CrZrSiN 중간층 내에 존재하는 $SiN_x$ 비정질상이 고온 annealing시에 산소 차폐막 역할을 하여, 코팅내의 잔류 산소에 의한 산화작용을 효과적으로 방지함으로써 코팅의 고온 특성이 향상된 것으로 판단된다.

Removal of hexavalent chromium using modified pistachio shell

  • Pistachio shell (Pistacia vera) (PS), a low-cost material, has been utilized for the removal of the Cr(VI) ions after treatment with citric acid. Batch experimental steps were applied to obtain Cr(VI) ion adsorption details for the equilibrium between Cr(VI) and modified pistachio shell (MPS). The influences of contact time, pH, adsorbent dose and initial chromium concentration on the adsorption performance of MPS was investigated in detail. The results displayed that adsorption of Cr(VI) by MPS reached to equilibrium after 2 h and after that a little change of Cr(VI) removal efficiency was observed. The sorption percent is higher at lower pH and lower chromium concentration. Two possible mechanisms for reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) can be suggested in Cr(VI) removal. In the first mechanism, Cr(VI) is reduced to Cr(III) by surface electron-donor groups of the adsorbent and the reduced Cr(III) forms complexes with adsorbent or remains in the solution. This Cr(III) is not adsorbed by adsorbent at pH 1.8. But in second mechanism, the adsorption-coupled reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) occurred on the adsorbent sites. The equilibrium sorption capacity of Cr(VI) ion after 2 h was 64.35 mg/g for MPS.

The Effect of Si Underlayer on the Magnetic Properties and Crystallographic Orientatation of CoCr(Mo) Thin Film (CoCr(Mo) 박막의 자기적 특성 및 미세구조에 미치는 Si 하지층의 영향)

  • Sputter deposited CoCr(Mo)/Si film were studied with emphasis on the correlation between magnetic properties and crystallographic orientation. The perpendicular coercivities of CoCr films decreased with Si underlayer thickness, whereas those of CoCrMo films increased with Si underlayer thickness. It has been explained that additions of the larger atomic radius Mo atoms in CoCr films impedes crystal growth resulting in a decrease in grain size, thus this small grain size may induce high perpendicular coercivity. The c-axis alignment of CoCrMo film was improved due to addition of 2at.%Mo. It means CoCrMo layer grow self-epitaxial directly from orientation and structure of Si underlayer when the main layer grow on underlayer.

  • CoCr 박막에 있어서 C축 결정배향성과 미세구조 변화에 대한 Co73Cr27 씨앗층의 영향이 조사되 었다. 기록밀도가 높고 재생전압도 높은 CoCr 수직기록매체를 개발하기 위해서는 CoCr층의 두께가 엷 으면서 결정배향성이 우수하고 결정립 크기가 적고 균일한 자성기록막 제조가 필요하다. CoCr 단층막 또는 CoCr/퍼말로이 이중막 제조에서 500$\AA$정도의 Co73Cr27 층을 씨앗층으로 만들어 줌으러써 기록층인 CoCr 박막이 $0.2mu$m의 두께에서도 천이층이 거의 없고 결정배향성이 우수한 자성막을 제조할 수 있었 다. 또한 Co73Cr27 씨앗층은 비록 결정립 크기는 증가시켰지만 기록층의 에피택시 성장에 보다 바람직 한 것으로 조사되었다.

High Temperature Stability of Sintered Bulk CrN (CrN 소결체의 고온 안정성)

  • The pure CrN powders oxidized to $Cr_2O_3$ noticeably above $850^{\circ}C$ in air. When these powders were sintered into bulk samples at $1500^{\circ}C$ under 40 atm of $N_2$ pressure, the CrN phase partly changed into the $Cr_2N$ phase, owing to the partial loss of nitrogen from CrN. When the bulk sample was heated at $1000-1200^{\circ}C$ for 100 hr under vacuum, the CrN phase also progressively changed into $Cr_2N$. At the same time, a relatively thin $Cr_2O_3$ layer formed on the bulk sample due to the reaction of chromium with residual oxygen in vacuum.

Effect of Volume Fraction of Cr Carbide Phase on the Abrasive Wear Behavior of the High Cr White Iron Harcfacing Weld Deposits (고크롬 철계 오버레이용접층의 긁힘마모거동에 미치는 크롬탄화물 양의 영향)

  • The effect of volume fraction of Cr carbide phase (Cr CVF) on the low stress abrasion resistance in the chromium-carbide-type high Cr white iron hardfacing weld deposits has been investigated. In order to examine Cr CVF, a series of alloys with varying Cr CVF by changing chromium and carbon contents and the ratio of Cr/C were employed. The alloys were deposited once or twice on a mild steel plate using the self-shielding flux cored arc welding process. The low stress abrasion resistance of the alloys against sands was measured by the Dry Sand/Rubber Wheel Abrasion Test (RWAT). It was shown that hardness and abrasion resistance increased with increasing Cr CVF within the whole test range (Cr CVF : 0.23-0.64). Both primary Cr carbide and eutectic Cr carbide were particularly effective in resisting wear due to their high hardness.

A Comparative Study on Image Quality of Breast Image Tests using ACR Phantom (ACR 팬텀을 이용한 시스템별 유방검사 영상의 비교 연구)

  • Recently, interests and utilization on Computed Radiography(CR) and Digital Radiography(DR) tends to increase owing to an introduction of Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS) and an accuracy control of special medical equipment for a breast imaging examination. This study was intended to compare and analyze a detector's imaging quality by each system to be used for the breast imaging examination by using ACR Phantom used at the accuracy control. As an evaluation method, a significance and reliability of image's value using the ACR Phantom was analyzed by using SPSS program. The results are followed. 1. For the fiber, there was 3.9 score in Screen-Film, 4.2 score in CR($50{\mu}m$), 3.2 score in CR($100{\mu}m$), and 4.2 score in DR. There was the high score in the order of CR($50{\mu}m$), DR, Screen-Film, and CR($100{\mu}m$)(P<0.05). 2. For the calcification, there was 2.7 score in Screen-Film, 2.5 score in CR($50{\mu}m$), 2.0 score in CR($100{\mu}m$), and 2.9 score in DR. There was the high score in the order of DR, Screen-Film, CR($50{\mu}m$), and CR($100{\mu}m$).(0.025(P<0.05). 3. For Mass, there was 3.8 score in Screen-Film, 3.8 score in CR($50{\mu}m$), 3.6 score in CR($100{\mu}m$), and 4.5 score in DR. There was the high score in the order of DR, CR($50{\mu}m$), Screen-Film, and CR($100{\mu}m$) (P<0.1). 4. As the total score, there was 10.4 score in Screen-Film, 10.6 score in CR($50{\mu}m$), 8.7 score in CR($100{\mu}m$), and 11.3 score in DR. There was the high score in the order of DR, $CR(50{\mu}m$), Screen-Film, and $CR(100{\mu}m$). As shown in the above results, it can be known that DR and Screen-Film System has higher image quality than CR. But, DR has unstability caused by element, and Screen-Film has the low image quality caused by artifact as disadvantages. When Dual-Side CR($50{\mu}m$) was used among CR systems which had the problem of low image quality, it was indicated that there was no difference with Screen-Film System. Because the radiation imaging examination tends to become digitalized, each system for the breast imaging examination will need to be developed and supplemented.
