  • Objectives: The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in changes in the instructional methods used in kindergartens and daycare centers to prevent viral infections. This study aimed to investigate the changes in oral health care for children before and during COVID-19 and the perceptions of kindergarten and daycare center teachers about oral health care. Methods: The study subjects were 189 teachers of kindergartens and daycare centers in charge of children aged 3 to 5. The data for the analysis were collected through an online survey. Frequency analysis and the chi-squared test were used for statistical analysis. Results: Compared to before COVID-19, the frequency of tooth brushing after lunch, the number of oral health education and regular oral examinations, and the rate of childcare teachers' experiences with oral health education had decreased during COVID-19. In addition, educators in kindergarten and daycare centers responded that an oral health officer at a public health center was the most desirable oral health educator. Conclusions: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the oral health care of children in kindergartens and daycare centers has declined. Efforts are needed to restore it by educating people about oral hygiene care and oral health education, both at home and in kindergartens and daycare centers.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide new implications for the development and operation of programs and comparative studies in university policy by examining how core competencies of university students participating in tutoring programs affect learning satisfaction. For this purpose, 33 university students participated in the tutoring program before COVID-19 and 72 university students participated in the tutoring program after COVID-19 were surveyed and statistically processed. As a result, first, there was a positive correlation between self-innovation, challenge, communication, harmony, sincerity, problem solving and learning satisfaction among the components of core competencies of H university before COVID-19. There was a positive correlation between self-innovation, challenge, communication, harmony, sincerity, problem solving and learning satisfaction of core competencies after COVID-19. Second, in the pre-COVID-19 period, core competence had a high explanatory power on learning satisfaction, but there was no statistically significant factor in each of the remaining components except for the challenge. After COVID-19, core competence was secured with a high rate of explanatory power, self-innovation and harmony among the components of core competence were found to have a positive effect on learning satisfaction, and challenge was found to have a negative effect on learning satisfaction. The implications of this study are that when students participate in the tutoring program, it is necessary to emphasize the challenge factors and when they proceed in non-face-to-face, it is necessary to emphasize the self-innovation factors or the harmony factors rather than the challenge factors.

  • Coinciding with the advent of COVID-19, online education is on the rise both domestically and globally, and has become an absolutely necessary and irreplaceable form of education. It is a very curious question what the perception of people about the suddenly growing form of education is, and how it has changed. This study investigated changes in consumers' perception of online education using big data. To this end, we divided the time into four stages: before COVID-19 (November to December 2019), after the triggering of COVID-19 (January to February 2020), right after the online classes started (March to April 2020), after experiencing some online education (May to June 2020). Then we conducted text mining, namely, keyword frequency analysis, network analysis, word cloud analysis, and sentiment analysis were performed. The implications derived as a result of the analysis can help education policy makers and educators working in the field to improve online education quality and establish its future directions.

In this regard, it was revealed that the happiness index was also lowered numerically. It is insufficient to analyze specific issues about changes in the issue of happiness felt by the public in Korean society after the epidemic. Therefore, this study aims to identify changes in the happiness issue of Koreans after COVID-19 and find ways to improve happiness. Data were collected from various aspects by searching 32 sub keywords based on ERG theory by dividing the period before and after COVID-19. The results of topic modeling before and after COVID-19 were classified into seven areas of happiness index 2.0 published by the National Assembly Future Research Institute and compared and analyzed. Based on the results of comparing the results of the before and after topic from the perspective of each area, a plan to improve happiness was presented. The academic implications of this paper are that the research on psychological changes caused by COVID-19 was expanded by mining the opinions of the actual public on 'happiness'. In addition, it has practical implications in that it specifically presented measures to promote happiness by utilizing the area of objective happiness indicators based on the existing research on ways to reduce happiness promotion unhappiness.
