실내 CO2농도가 재실자의 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the CO2Concentration level on Sleep Quality)

  • This study investigated the influence of the indoor CO2concentration level on sleep quality by polysomnography(PSG). One healthy female subject was selected among several subjects based on RI(Risk Indicator) value and BMI(Body Mass Index) value to evaluate judging the risk level of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea. To get the impact of the indoor carbon dioxide concentration to sleep quality, both CO2concentration levels were set up using ventilating form with 700~800 ppm and 2000~3000 ppm. Other environments were controlled in the comfortable sleep scope by previous researches. To measure the sleep quality, measurements have carried on polysomnography(PSG). In conclusion, it have shown that high carbon dioxide concentration leads arousal effect about central nervous system and to sustaining dreams and excited condition by bring about REM sleep split phenomenon.

K2CO3가 흡착된 합성제올라이트 구조체의 소화농도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Extinguishing Concentration of K2CO3-Zeolite Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 입자크기 및 밀도가 비교적 작고 소화효과에 있어서 부촉매효과를 나타내는 다공성 흡착제인 합성제올라이트에 $K_2CO_3$를 중량비에 따라 흡착시킨 구조체의 소화농도를 측정하였다. 그리고 구조적 특성을 파악하고자 주사전자 현미경(SEM)의 측정 및 X-Ray 회절분석, 열분석 등을 실시하였다. 흡착구조체의 소화농도실험에서 중량비에 관계없이 순수 $K_2CO_3$의 소화농도보다 모두 낮게 나타났다. 그리고, 특히 $K_2CO_3$와 합성제올라이트의 중량비가 7 : 3인 경우는 소화농도가 5.72배 낮게 측정되었고 ABC분말소화약제보다 약 1.1배 낮게 나타났다. SEM 사진 및 XRD 회절패턴분석을 통해 $K_2CO_3$가 합성제올라이트에 흡착되었다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 열분석을 통해 흡착구조체가 순수 $K_2CO_3$보다 소화에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤을 것이라 추정할 수 있었다.

도시 - 전원간 이산화탄소(CO2) 농도구배 예비관측 결과 (Preliminary Report of Observed Urban - Rural Gradient of Carbon Dioxide Concentration across Seoul, Suwon, and Icheon in South Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 서울 도심과 전원 지역간 $CO_2$ 농도 차이가 IPCC 중단기 기후변화 시나리오에 상응하는 차이가 있는지를 확인하기 위해 수도권의 도시기후를 IPCC 기후변화 시나리오를 재현한 "천연실험실"로 활용하고자 서울(도심), 수원(부도심), 이천(전원), 3지역에서 2006년 6월 19일부터 2007년 6월 25일(2007년 3월 3일-5월 22일까지 결측)까지 $CO_2$ 농도를 관측하였으며 이 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 3지점의 연 평균 대기 중 $CO_2$ 농도의 구배가 서울(439 ppm)>수원(419 ppm)>이천(416 ppm)으로 나타났다. 2) 계절에 따른 $CO_2$ 농도의 일변화 변동폭은 여름철에 크게 나타난 반면 겨울철에는 그 폭이 완만해졌다. 3) 계절에 따른 시간대별 대기 중 $CO_2$ 농도는 여름철에는 대체로 새벽 5시에, 가을철에는 오전 8시에, 겨울철에는 오전 9시에, 봄철에는 새벽 5시에 고농도가 나타남으로써 고농도가 나타나는 시간대가 가을철부터 지연되었다가 다시 봄철에는 일출 전후로 옮겨갔다. 4) 시간대별 대기 중 $CO_2$ 농도는 일출 직후에 442 ppm(서울: 0700 LST, Local Standard Time)으로 최대 농도를 보였으며, 최소 $CO_2$ 농도는 광합성이 활발한 오후 시간대로 407 ppm(수원: 1500 LST)으로 나타났다. 5) 배경대기관측소 안면도에서 산정한 배경 $CO_2$ 연평균 농도 377 ppm에 대해 서울은 14%, 수원은 10%, 이천은 9% 높았으며, IPCC BAU Scenario의 2030-2040년 대기 중 $CO_2$ 농도인 450 ppm에 대해 서울은 이미 98%에 도달하였고, 2040-2050년의 550 ppm에 대해서는 80%에 도달하여 우리나라의 도시-전원(서울-이천)간 $CO_2$ 농도차이는 IPCC BAU Scenario의 20-30년 후의 기후변화 시나리오에 상응하는 것으로 판단된다.

이산화탄소 농도가 영지버섯균의 균사생장과 자실체원기 유도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of concentrated carbon dioxide exposure on the mycelial growth and fruit body initiation of Ganoderma lucidum)

  • The effect of $CO_2$ concentration (500, 3,000, $6,000{\mu}{\ell}/{\ell}$) on the mycelial growth and fruit body primordium formation of Ganoderma lucidum on nutrient agar medium was examined. Optimum $CO_2$ concentration for vegetative growth was above $3,000{\mu}{\ell}/{\ell}$. Fruit body initiation was accelerated at higher than $3,000{\mu}{\ell}/{\ell}$ $CO_2$ exposure but the maximum number and size of primordia, and primordium color were not influenced by $CO_2$ concentrations. Whereas each atypical fruiting structure forming stock culture showed different fruiting time under each concentration of $CO_2$ exposure.

FeCo/Pd 초격자 다층박막의 자기 및 자기광학적 특성 (Magnetic and Magneto-Optical Properties of FeCo/Pd Multilayers)

  • FeCo/Pd 초격자 다층박막의 FeCo 와 Pd sublayer 두께를 각각 $2.5\;{\AA}$$10.5\;{\AA}$으로 유지시키면서 FeCo sublayer 의 Fe 조성이 0에서 100% 까지 변화함에따른 포화자화값, 수직 자기이방성에너지, 보자력 및 Kerr 회전각의 파장 의존성을 조사 하였다. 포화자화값은 Fe 조성이 48 at.%부근에서 최 고치를 보였고, 수직 자기이방성에너 및 조자력은 Fe조성의 증가에따라 단조감소 하였다. Kerr 회전각은 Fe 조성의 증가에따라 감소하였는데 그 크기 및 변화의 폭은 단파장으로 갈수록 증가하였다.

미국 서북부 Cheeka Peak에서의 수송에 따른 봄철 CO와 O3의 특성 (Characteristics of Springtime CO and O3 according to Transport at Cheeka Peak Observatory(CPO), Northwest of USA)

  • Cheeka Peak is a unique site for monitoring the background chemistry and aerosol contents of pristine marine air at mid-latitude. During long-range onshore winds that occur frequently throughout the year, it is predicted to have the cleanest air in the northern hemisphere. Measurements of CO and O$_3$were conducted at Cheeka Peak Observatory(CPO) on the northwestern tip of Washington state, USA during March 6 ∼May 29, 2001. The data have been segregated to quantify the mixing ratio of these species in the Pacific marine atmosphere. Also the marine air masses were further classified into four categories based on 10-day backward isentropic trajectories; high, mid, and low latitude and those which had crossed over the Asian industrial region. The diurnal variation of CO and O$_3$at CPO showed a similar to tendency of background measurement site. When marine air mass flowed to CPO, CO concentration was lower and O$_3$was similar or higher than those of total data. The westerly flow from ocean, not easterly from continent occurred the high concentration of CO and O$_3$at CPO. Using the trajectory segregation of marine air mass, the comparison of concentration according to latitude calculated. the CO concentration of Asian trajectory was lower than other latitudes, O$_3$concentration was higher.

고속도금된 Zn-Cr 및 Zn-Cr-X 3원합금 도금층의 표면조직, 광택도 및 경도 (Surface morphology, Glossiness and Hardness of Zn-Cr and Zn-Cr-X ternary alloy Electrodeposits)

  • The surface morphology, the glossiness and the hardness of Zn-Cr and Zn-Cr-X(X:Co, Mn) alloy electrodeposits were investigated by using chloride bath with EDTA additive and flow cell system. The surface morphology of Zn-Cr alloy and Zn-Cr-Mn alloy changed from fine needle shape crystalline structure to colony structure of fine granular crystallites with increasing current density in the range of 20-100 $A/dm^2$. The surface morphology of Zn-Cr-Co alloy deposited from low Co concentration bath(2.5-10 g/$\ell$) was similar to that of Zn-Cr alloy, while that of Zn-Cr-Co alloy deposited from high cobalt concentration bath was fine granular crystalline structure in the same range of current density. The glossiness of Zn-Cr and Zn-Cr-Mn alloy increased noticeably with increasing current density, while that of Zn-Cr-Mn alloy decreased with increasing Mn concentration of bath in high current density region. The glossiness of Zn-Cr-Co alloy deposited from low Co concentration bath increased with current density while that of the alloy from high Co concentration bath decreased with increasing current density. The hardness of Zn-Cr and Zn-Cr-X alloy increased noticeably with current density.

  • An experimental investigation was carried out to study the characteristics of concentration of a coaxial jet being tone excited and consisting of $CO_2$, and air. The concentration in a binary gas mixture was measured by using the hot-wire anemometer and flow visualization was performed by the schlieren technique. In the case of excited flow, it is found that acoustic energy is partially transferred to RMS concentration to enhance mixing.

Effect of Carbon Dioxide Concentration on Malate and Titratable Acidity in Pereskia aculeata and Kalanchoe rosea

  • The induction of crassulacean acid metabolism(CAM) characterized by day/night acid fluctuation was investigated in leaves from 10 days exposure to elevated $CO_2$ concentration(1,000 ${\mu}L\;L^{-1}CO_2).$ For Pereskia aculeata, have $C_3-like$ gas exchange pattern in well watered condition and shift into CAM-like in water stress, showed a more typical CAM-like diurnal acid fluctuation. Whereas the massive diurnal fluctuation of acidity in typical CAM of Kalanchoe rosea was declined. The effect of short-term exposure to various concentrations of $CO_2$ on titratable acidity in P. aculeata and K. rosea was also investigated. To investigate the response of various $CO_2$ concentrations, four different $CO_2$ levels(350, 700, 1,000 and 1,500 ${\mu}L\;L^{-1})$ were imposed for 24hr and measured the titratable acidity at 06:00, when the acidity was maximum, and 14:00, when the acidity was minimum. The accumulation of acid in P. aculeata was enhanced markedly by higher concentration of $CO_2,$ while the level of acidity in f rosea did not highly respond to $CO_2.$ A notable difference between P. aculeata and K. rosea was the response of de-acidification to a higher concentration of $CO_2$ Increasing with $CO_2,$ the degree of do-acidification of P. auleata was increased while that of K. rosea was depressed.

Container System Actively Maintaining High CO2 Concentration for Improved Sensory Quality of Kimchi

  • A kimchi container actively controlling $CO_2$ concentration by timely flushing of $CO_2$ gas was structured and tested in its capability and effectiveness because high $CO_2$ concentration enhances the sensory flavor of the product. The inlet and outlet valves of $CO_2$ gas were programmed to open and close allowing synchronous vent/$CO_2$ flush according to the requirements of its dissolution in the contained kimchi. During the chilled storage, the headspace of container could be maintained at desired high $CO_2$ concentration providing the preferred kimchi in sensory quality compared to control of the conventional container. However, there was no significant difference between the high $CO_2$ container and control (container simply closed with air) in kimchi quality attributes of pH, titratable acidity, total viable bacterial count, Lactobacillus sp. count and Leuconostoc sp. count. The flow rate and time interval of $CO_2$ flushing need to be adjusted considering the kimchi amount, headspace volume and ripening time. The designed system has potential to be applied in refrigerator appliances in homes and food service industry.
