In this study, the table flow of fiber reinforced cement composites mixed with CNTs dispersed differently according to the dispersion method was evaluated. The mixture was composed of plain mixture according to the presence or absence of ultrasonic dispersion and PCE-based dispersants A and B of 0.5% and 1.0%, respectively, CNT was mixed with 0.03% of cement weight and fiber was mixed with 1.5% of total volume. As a result of the experiment, NC-A0.5 showed a fluidity similar to that of P without CNT. The fluidity of NC-A0.5 and P-N showed a similar tendency, which is considered to be due to the distribution of evenly dispersed CNT particles without agglomeration between cement particles due to the dispersant. NC-B0.5 showed a similar level of firmness to P-U, but after hitting 250 mm, B Agent seems to have a significant effect on liquidity improvement. Both NC-A1.0 and NC-B1.0 seem to have increased flow due to excessive dispersion.
Semiconducting layers are thin rubber film between electrical cable wire and insulating polymer layers having a volume resistivity of ${\sim}10^2{\Omega}cm$. Commercial semiconducting layers ire composed of polymer composites reinforced with more than 30 wt% of carbon blacks. A new semiconducting material was suggested in this study based on the carbon nanotube(CNT)-reinforced polymer nanocomposites. CNT-reinforced polymer nanocomposites were prepared by solution mixing and precipitation with various polymer type and dual filler system. The mechanical, thermal and electrical properties were investigated as a function of polymer type and dual filler system based on CNT and carbon black. The volume resistivity of composites was strongly related with the crystallinity of polymer matrix. With the decreased crystallinity, the volume resistivity decreased linearly until a critical point, and it remained constant with further decreasing the crystallinity. Dual filler system also affected the volume resistivity. The CNT-reinforced nanocomposite showed the lowest volume resistivity. When a small amount of carbon black(CB) was replaced the CNT, the crystallinity increased considerably leading to a higher volume resistivity.

The fiber composites have been investigated as lightweight structure material platforms for aerospace applications because their strength can be enhanced by adding reinforcement without a significant increase in weight. In this study, the fabrication and characterization of carbon nanotube (CNT) reinforced glass fiber composites are demonstrated to enhance the tensile strength of longitudinal direction along the glass fibers. Due to the reinforcement of CNT in epoxy layers, the yield strength of fiber/epoxy composites is enhanced by about 10 %. Furthermore, using scanning electron microscopy, analysis of fracture surfaces shows that mixed CNT in epoxy layers acts as necking agents between fractured surfaces of fiber/epoxy; thereby, initiation and evolution of crack across fiber composite can be suppressed by CNT necking between fractured surfaces.

In this work, the grow of carbon nanotube (CNT) on carbon fiber was introduced on PAN-based carbon fibers for the enhancement of mechanical interfacial strength of carbon fibers-reinforced composites. The surface properties of carbon fibers were determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and mechanical interfacial properties of the composites were studied by interlaminar shear strength (ILSS). From the results, it was found that the mechanical interfacial properties of CNT-carbon fibers-reinforced composites (CNT-CFRPs) enhanced with decreasing the CNT content. The excessive CNT content can lead the failure due to the interfacial separation between fibers and matrices in this system. In conclusion, the optimum CNT content on carbon fiber surfaces can be a key factor to determine the mechanical interfacial properties of the CNT-CFRPs.
In this paper, free vibration, forced vibration, resonance and stress wave propagation behavior in nanocomposite plates reinforced by wavy carbon nanotube (CNT) are studied by a mesh-free method based on first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The plates are resting on Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation and subjected to periodic or impact loading. The distributions of CNTs are considered functionally graded (FG) or uniform along the thickness and their mechanical properties are estimated by an extended rule of mixture. In the mesh-free analysis, moving least squares (MLS) shape functions are used for approximation of displacement field in the weak form of motion equation and the transformation method is used for imposition of essential boundary conditions. Effects of CNT distribution, volume fraction, aspect ratio and waviness, and also effects of elastic foundation coefficients, plate thickness and time depended loading are examined on the vibrational and stresses wave propagation responses of the nanocomposite plates reinforced by wavy CNT.
The present study covenants with the static and free vibration behavior of nanocomposite sandwich plates reinforced by carbon nanotubes resting on Pasternak elastic foundation. Uniformly distributed (UD-CNT) and functionally graded (FG-CNT) distributions of aligned carbon nanotube are considered for two types of sandwich plates such as, the face sheet reinforced and homogeneous core and the homogeneous face sheet and reinforced core. Based on the first shear deformation theory (FSDT), the Hamilton's principle is employed to derive the mathematical models. The obtained solutions are numerically validated by comparison with some available cases in the literature. The elastic foundation model is assumed as one parameter Winkler - Pasternak foundation. A parametric study is conducted to study the effects of aspect ratios, foundation parameters, carbon nanotube volume fraction, types of reinforcement, core-to-face sheet thickness ratio and types of loads acting on the bending and free vibration analyses. It is explicitly shown that the (FG-CNT) face sheet reinforced sandwich plate has a high resistance against deflections compared to other types of reinforcement. It is also revealed that the reduction in the dimensionless natural frequency is most pronounced in core reinforced sandwich plate.

Carbon nanotube(CNT)-reinforced poly(ethylene-co-ethyl acrylate)(EEA) nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing with a Haake internal mixer. The CNT loading was vaned from 0 to 20 wt%. The changes m CNT dispersion and shape were investigated with FE-SEM observation with and without the Tensile strain of 40%. The CNT was protruded over the fracture surface upon Tensile strain, which is a very interesting behavior.
Vibration analysis of embedded functionally graded (FG)-carbon nanotubes (CNT)-reinforced piezoelectric cylindrical shell subjected to uniform and non-uniform temperature distributions are presented. The structure is subjected to an applied voltage in thickness direction which operates in control of vibration behavior of system. The CNT reinforcement is either uniformly distributed or functionally graded (FG) along the thickness direction indicated with FGV, FGO and FGX. Effective properties of nano-composite structure are estimated through Mixture low. The surrounding elastic foundation is simulated with spring and shear constants. The material properties of shell and elastic medium constants are assumed temperature-dependent. The motion equations are derived using Hamilton's principle applying first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). Based on differential cubature (DC) method, the frequency of nano-composite structure is obtained for different boundary conditions. A detailed parametric study is conducted to elucidate the influences of external applied voltage, elastic medium type, temperature distribution type, boundary conditions, volume percent and distribution type of CNT are shown on the frequency of system. In addition, the mode shapes of shell for the first and second modes are presented for different boundary conditions. Numerical results indicate that applying negative voltage yields to higher frequency. In addition, FGX distribution of CNT is better than other considered cases.

Design was developed through user-oriented service design methodology and survey was conducted on material selection criteria for prototype production to select CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) CNT (Carbon Nano Tube), which was applied to animal X-ray detector panel to design product and develop prototype. Completed prototype with the application of CFRP CNT panel was tested in drop test, frontal external pressure test, and dustproof/waterproof performance to confirm that it can be utilized as a portable animal X-ray detector used in outdoor environment.
