Fabrication of dot-patterned carbon nanotube (CNT) emitters with excellent field emission properties using photo-sensitive CNT paste is described. The photosensitive CNT paste showed good photopatternability, which led us to easily form $10-{\mu}m-diameter$ dot arrays. We presented a parametric study on formulating the photo-sensitive paste and their resultant field emission characteristics.

A carbon nanotube field emission display(CNT FED) panel with a 2 inch diagonal size was fabricated using a screen printing of a prepared photo-sensitive CNT paste and vacuum in-line sealing technology. After a surface treatment of the patterned CNT, only the carbon nanotube tips are uniformly exposed on the surface. The diameter of the exposed CNTs are usually about 20 nm. Using the photo-sensitive CNT paste, we have developed a triode type CNT FEA with a self-aligned gate-emitter structure. The turn on voltage was around 100 V which corresponds to according the turn on field of about $40V/{\mu}m$. By the creation of a self-aligned gate-emitter structure, it is expected that the screen printed photo-sensitive CNT paste is promising as a good candidate for the large size field emission display.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been significantly used for the field emitters for display applications. However, the lifetime of CNT emitters which are formed by screen printing technique is not guaranteed yet, because the constituents in CNT paste affect the lifetime of CNTs. The CNT pastes for screen printing are normally composed of organic vehicles (nitro cellulose, ethyl cellulose, etc) and additives (glass frits, indium tin oxide (ITO), etc) with CNTs. In this study, the effects of constituents in CNT pastes on the lifetime and emission characteristics of CNTs were investigated by thermal and electrical analysis. Use of glass frits worsened the lifetime and electron emission of CNTs. However, an addition of ITO to CNT paste rather improved the lifetime of CNTs. Degradation of CNTs was small when nitro cellulose was used in CNT paste as an organic vehicle.
A surface treatment was performed after the screen printing of a carbon nanotube paste for obtaining the carbon nanotube field emission array(CNT FEA) on the soda-lime glass substrate. In this experiment, Ar ion bombardment was applied as an effective surface treatment method. After making a cathode electrode on the glass substrate, photo sensitive CNT paste was screen-printed, and then back-side was exposure by uv light. Then, the exposed CNT paste was selectively remained by development. After post-baking, the remained CNT paste was bombarded by accelerated Ar ions for removing some binders and exposing only CNTs. As results, the field emission characteristics were strongly depended on the accelerating energy. At 100 eV, the emission was highest and as the acceleration energy increases more then 100 eV, the emission decreased. This was due to the removal of CNT itself as well as binders.

In this study, the fluidity, mechanical properties and microstructure of cement pastes with carbon nanotube (CNT) were experimentally investigated. The 6 types of cement paste mixes with different PCE:CNT and w/b had been manufactured, and several tests including flow, compressive strength, absorption and water porosity were performed on cement pastes with or without CNT.Additionally, microstructural observations such as x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were carried out to examine hydrates formed in cement paste with CNT. As a result, it was found that the performance of cement pastes with CNT was better compared to that of control cement paste (OPC) due to both of hydration acceleration effect and filling effect. Furthermore, the SEM images clearly showed that CNT can bridge cracks formed in cement matrix. Conclusively, it is believed that the CNT, if mixed appropriately, could be an option as nono-materials to improve performance of concrete structures.
CNT paste was fabricated by mixture of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) powder, organic vehicles and inorganic binder. Then firing process was performed at different temperature under air and $N_{2}$ atmosphere. It was found that emission property of CNT paste was changed by firing temperature and time due to interaction between remained resins and CNT powder. We obtained good emission property from CNT paste treated at $350^{\circ}C$ for 10 min.

When concrete is exposed to fire, the decomposition of Portland cement paste results in critical damage to the concrete structure of a building. Although the behavior of cement pastes after heating provides crucial information with respect to the reuse of the building exposed to fire, the recovery process of the damaged concrete structure has not yet been fully elucidated. In addition, research on appropriate additives such as carbon nanotube (CNT) has been increasing recently, however, investigation of CNT incorporated cement paste after decomposition of CNT by high temperature is not fully investigated. In this study, we investigated the physicochemical properties of CNT incorporated cement paste under different temperatures (200℃, 500℃ and 800℃). Also, the effects of different rehydration conditions (20℃ 60% RH and in water for different curing times) on the recovery of the paste were studied. The changes in tensile and compressive strength, surface observation of the specimens were characterized. In addition, the decomposition and formation of hydrates in the paste due to the heating process were studied using X-ray diffraction.

However the recovery process of the damaged concrete structure has not yet been fully elucidated. In addition, research on appropriate additives such as carbon nanotube (CNT) and nanosilica has been increasing recently, however, investigation of CNT and nanosilica incorporated cement paste after decomposition of CNT by high temperature is not fully investigated. In this study, we investigated the physicochemical properties of CNT incorporated cement paste under different temperatures ($200^{\circ}C$, $500^{\circ}C$ and $800^{\circ}C$). Also, the effects of different rehydration conditions ($20^{\circ}C$ 60% RH and in water for different curing times) on the recovery of the paste were studied. The changes in tensile strength, surface observation of the specimens were characterized. In addition, the decomposition and formation of hydrates in the paste due to the heating process were studied using X-ray diffraction. The results showed that incorporation of nanosilica enhanced tensile strength after heating to each target temperatures.
