Effects of doping rare earth element on Ln site of $Ln_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$ (Ln=Nd, Sm and La) were examined from sintering behavior, structure and magnetic properties. Sintering reactions proceeded rapidly in order of $La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3>Nd_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3>Sm_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$. This result can be explained by diffusivity of metal cation. Size of a-axis increased as following order of La$Nd_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$, 93K for $Sm_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$ and 225K for $La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$ were obtained. This result coincides with change of Mn-O bond length causing by a-axis lattice constant.

The $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}MnO_3$ was deposited on $SiO_2/Si$ substrate by RF magnetron sputtering. The oxygen gas flow rate was changed from 0 to 80 sccm and the substrate temperature was $350^{\circ}C$. The oxygen gas flow rate was changed to control the growth orientation and crystalline state of the film. Relatively high TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) value (-2.33%/K) was obtained when comparing with the reported values of the films prepared by using high substrate anneal temperature. The decrease in the sheet resistance and TCR value were observed when grain size of the film increased with the increase of oxygen gas flow rate.
Corrosion is a natural, inevitable process, and is one of the world's most serious problems. Losses incurred due to corrosion are extremely expensive for society. Several technological strategies have been explored and implemented to address these losses. The use of inhibitors to prevent corrosion is a common and efficient method to reduce corrosion losses. This review covers Al and Al-composite corrosion inhibitors in chloride-containing solutions, because of their popularity in a broad array of industrial applications. A vast number of studies in the literature detail the common tendency of Al and Al-composites with reinforcements to deteriorate. Accordingly, it is worthwhile to employ inhibitors to protect them, as discussed in the present work. The emphasis is on selecting the smartest corrosion inhibitor and evaluating its performance. According to the study, the most commonly used corrosion inhibitors are 1,4-naphthoquinone (NQ), 1,5-naphthalene diol, 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiol (ATAT), ammonium tetrathiotungstate, clotrimazole, amoxicillin, antimicrobial and antifungal drugs. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic (PDP), and weight loss were among the most commonly used modern electrochemical technologies to test inhibitors' efficacy under environmental conditions.

Objective: Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is a diagnostic tool that provides precise and reproducible information about cardiac structure, function, and tissue characterization, aiding in the monitoring of chemotherapy response in patients with light-chain cardiac amyloidosis (AL-CA). This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of CMR in monitoring responses to chemotherapy in patients with AL-CA. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study, we enrolled 111 patients with AL-CA (50.5% male; median age, 54 [interquartile range, 49-63] years). Patients underwent longitudinal monitoring using biomarkers and CMR imaging. At follow-up after chemotherapy, patients were categorized into superior and inferior response groups based on their hematological and cardiac laboratory responses to chemotherapy. Changes in CMR findings across therapies and differences between response groups were analyzed. Results: Following chemotherapy (before vs. after), there were significant increases in myocardial T2 (43.6 ± 3.5 ms vs. 44.6 ± 4.1 ms; P = 0.008), recovery in right ventricular (RV) longitudinal strain (median of -9.6% vs. -11.7%; P = 0.031), and decrease in RV extracellular volume fraction (ECV) (median of 53.9% vs. 51.6%; P = 0.048). These changes were more pronounced in the superior-response group. Patients with superior cardiac laboratory response showed significantly greater reductions in RV ECV (-2.9% [interquartile range, -8.7%-1.1%] vs. 1.7% [-5.5%-7.1%]; P = 0.017) and left ventricular ECV (-2.0% [-6.0%-1.3%] vs. 2.0% [-3.0%-5.0%]; P = 0.01) compared with those with inferior response. Conclusion: Cardiac amyloid deposition can regress following chemotherapy in patients with AL-CA, particularly showing more prominent regression, possibly earlier, in the RV. CMR emerges as an effective tool for monitoring associated tissue characteristics and ventricular functional recovery in patients with AL-CA undergoing chemotherapy, thereby supporting its utility in treatment response assessment.

Purpose : To evaluate late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) pattern of left ventricular (LV) myocardium and presence or absence of LGE in other regions of the heart on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging in patients diagnosed with cardiac amyloidosis. Materials and Methods: From 2009 to 2011, 9 patients who were suspected cardiac amyloidosis underwent CMR. We retrospectively analyzed the presence or absence of LGE and enhancement pattern in LV myocardium, and the presence or absence of LGE in other chambers as well. Also we measured interatrial septal thickness (IST), relative signal intensities of atrial septum and epicardial fat over the left atrial (LA) cavity on delayed enhanced images. MRI parameters in these patients were compared to those of control group of patients with ischemic heart disease by Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results: Of nine patients, LGE were found in 8; subendocardial circumferential pattern in 4 and diffuse pattern in 4. LGE in right ventricle was observed in 7. IST was significantly increased in patients with cardiac amyloidosis (P = 0.02). Ratio of atrial septum to LA cavity and ratio of epicardial fat to LA cavity showed a significant difference (P = 0.0002 and P = 0.0006, respectively). Conclusion: In LGE CMR, subendocardial or diffuse enhancement pattern is a typical finding for patients with cardiac amyloidosis. Atrial septum and epicardial fat show relatively increased signal intensities over LA blood cavity.

The bond analysis model equation was proposed through the regression analysis of the experimental values of bond behavior for each rebar. In order to verify the appropriateness of the bond analysis model equation, the bond behaviors calculated by the proposed bond analysis model, BPE model and CMR model were compared with experimental values. The proposed bond model showed the closest behavior to the experimental values when compared to other analysis models. The former models can not consider the different properties of GFRP rebar according to composed materials, mixing and manufacturing method and the latter has limitation to express the relationships between bond behavior because of derived formula by numerical analysis. This study proposed the analytical model different considering bond mechanism according to surface type. In order to verity the appropriateness of the bond analytical model, the bond behaviors calculated by the proposed bond analytical model, BPE model and CMR model were compared with experimental values. The proposed bond model showed the closest behavior to the experimental values when compared to other analysis models.
Objective: This study aimed to develop and validate models using radiomics features on a native T1 map from cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) to predict left ventricular reverse remodeling (LVRR) in patients with nonischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NIDCM). Materials and Methods: Data from 274 patients with NIDCM who underwent CMR imaging with T1 mapping at Severance Hospital between April 2012 and December 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Radiomic features were extracted from the native T1 maps. LVRR was determined using echocardiography performed ≥ 180 days after the CMR. The radiomics score was generated using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator logistic regression models. Clinical, clinical + late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), clinical + radiomics, and clinical + LGE + radiomics models were built using a logistic regression method to predict LVRR. For internal validation of the result, bootstrap validation with 1000 resampling iterations was performed, and the optimism-corrected area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) with 95% confidence interval (CI) was computed. Model performance was compared using AUC with the DeLong test and bootstrap. Results: Among 274 patients, 123 (44.9%) were classified as LVRR-positive and 151 (55.1%) as LVRR-negative. The optimism-corrected AUC of the radiomics model in internal validation with bootstrapping was 0.753 (95% CI, 0.698-0.813). The clinical + radiomics model revealed a higher optimism-corrected AUC than that of the clinical + LGE model (0.794 vs. 0.716; difference, 0.078 [99% CI, 0.003-0.151]). The clinical + LGE + radiomics model significantly improved the prediction of LVRR compared with the clinical + LGE model (optimism-corrected AUC of 0.811 vs. 0.716; difference, 0.095 [99% CI, 0.022-0.139]). Conclusion: The radiomic characteristics extracted from a non-enhanced T1 map may improve the prediction of LVRR and offer added value over traditional LGE in patients with NIDCM. Additional external validation research is required.

This paper investigated and evaluated the NASA's Shuttle Imaging Radar-C (SIR-C) multiple frequency SAR data for differential backscattering effects of microwave from the surface geological materials overlying the skarn type mineralization. Although an integrated approach in mineral exploration is more cost effective and is well in use, there are still many technical and scientific issues to be further investigated and researched. In this study we have reprocessed several sets of previously surveyed exploration data and experimented with fuzzy logic digital fusion of the preprocessed data with respect to chosen exploration targets. Among the numerous fuzzy logic operators, which are currently available for a data driven integrated exploration strategy, we used varying combinations of fuzzy MIN, fuzzy MAX, and fuzzy SUM operators along with Gamma operator for fusion of exploration data, including the contact metamorphic zone information. The final exploration target tested was a skarn type W-Mo-F mineralization in the study area. The fuzzy logic derived mineral potential anomaly almost exactly matched the differential backscattering anomalies on the C-band and L-band SIR_C data when overlaid on each other. Although this high degree of correlation between these two data sets is remarkable, the differential backscattering anomaly over the skarn type W-Mo-F mineralization in the study area requires further investigation.

With the recent development of nanotechnology, its application in the field of construction materials is continuously increasing. However, until now, studies on the bond characteristics of concrete and rebar for applying high-strength lightweight concrete with a compressive strength of 50 MPa and a unit weight of 16 kN/m3 to structural members are lacking. Therefore, in this paper, 81 specimens of high-strength lightweight concrete with a compressive strength of 50 MPa and a unit weight of about 16 kN/m3 were fabricated and a direct pull-out tests were performed. The design code for the bond strength of ACI-408R and the experimental results are shown to be relatively similar, and as a result of the CEB-FIP and modified CMR bond behavior models through statistical analysis, it is shown to describe well on average.
CMR Materials RE/sub 1-x/Ca/sub x/MnO₃(RE=La, Nd, A=Ca, Sr) were grown using the floating zone image furnace with halogen lamps as heat source. The growth condition was at 2∼10 mm/hr growth rate in air atmosphere, were 445∼50 rpm and 20∼25 rpm of rotation rate of feedrod and growing crystal, respectively. The grown crystals showed shiny black color and annealed at 1500℃ in a box furnace to release the residual stress during cooling. Characterization analyses of the crystal were carried out using XRD and SEM. The crystal structure of Nd/sub 0.7/Ca/sub 0.3/MnO₃ was analyzed with smart CCD XRD was lattice parameter of a=5.425(4)Å, b=5.434(4)Å, and c=7.712(5)Å, an orthorombic system with space group of pbnm.
