  • Microstructural evolution of wrought Inconel 718 superalloy with different heat treatment conditions was studied. Heat treatment was performed via conventional(CHT), modified(MHT), Merrick(MeHT) and modified Merrick (MMeHT) methods. The size of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ and ${\gamma}^{\prime\prime}$ precipitates which are principal strengthening phases in Inconel 718 superalloy increase in order of CHT, MHT, MeHT. For the case of MMeHT, a coexistence of fine ${\gamma}^{\prime\prime}$ precipitate and very coarse particles due to exess growth of ${\gamma}^{\prime\prime}$, which is called bimodal distribution, was observed. CHT gave the finest grain size. (Ti, Nb)C carbide and needle-like ${\delta}$ phase were formed together at grain boundaries for CHT, and were formed both inside and at boundaries of grains for MHT, MeHT and MMeHT. Morphology of partially serrated grain boundaries was developed in all heat treatment conditions except CHT.

  • The surface structure and electrochemical behavior of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) prepared from benzenethiol (BT), cyclohexanethiol (CHT), and cyclopentanethiol (CPT) on Au(111) surface were examined by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) to understand the influence of thiol molecular backbone structure on the formation and reductive desorption behavior of SAMs. STM imaging showed that BT and CPT SAMs on Au(111) surface formed at room temperature were mainly composed of disordered domains, whereas CHT SAMs were composed of well-ordered domains with three orientations. From these STM results, we suggest that molecule-substrate interaction is a key parameter for determining the structural order and disorder of simple aromatic and alicyclic thiol SAMs on Au(111). In addition, the reductive desorption peak potential for BT SAMs with aromatic rings was observed at a less negative potential of -566 mV compared to CHT SAMs (-779 mV) or CPT SAMs (-775 mV) with aliphatic cyclic rings. This reductive desorption behavior for BT SAMs is due to the presence of p-orbitals on the aromatic rings, which promote facile electron transfer from the Au electrode to BT as compared to CHT and CPT. We also confirmed that the reductive desorption behavior for simple alicyclic thiol SAMs such as CHT and CPT SAMs on Au electrodes was not significantly influenced by the degree of structural order.

  • The Rakhine (Arakanese) from present-day Rakhine State (Arakan) in Western Myanmar and the Marma from the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Southeast Bangladesh originated from the same region, share the same culture and practice the same religion. However, the people from CHT have developed a distinctive identity and are individualized by a different name "Marma". This development raises a number of historical questions. This paper explores how the Arakanese descendants became "Marma" in Bangladesh.

  • In this paper, we propose an object-tracking of mobile robots using CHT(Circular Hough transform) algorithm. The proposed method extracts the region of moving objects using 1-D projection algorithm, and detects circular objects using CHT. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed tracking method, we perform experiments of ball shape object-tracking using mobile robot based on ARM processor with CMOS camera.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Chunghwatang (CHT) for atopic dermatitis. Methods : CHT, a verified anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, was treated in atopic dermatitis animal model to investigate cytokine levels and immunoglobulin production. Results : Clinical skin index was 47.1%, suggesting significant efficacy of CHT in atopic dermatitis treatment. Serum IL-4, IL-6, IL-13, TNF-${\alpha}$ and histamine productions were significantly decreased to 52.3%, 61.8%, 68.0%, 37.4%, and 46.6%, respectively. The production of IL-5 was decreased to 33.3%. The increase of Immunoglobulin IgG1 production along with IgE through the interaction of IgE and IL-4 induced by IL-4 and IL-13 were measured as 20.7% and 23.4%, respectively. Conclusions : The results above, along with the in vitro test results, strongly supports the CHT samples as effective immunomodulator in AD treatments, suggesting its use in clinical practice and basic information for EBM.

  • CheonghunHwadam-tang(CHT) have been used in oriental medicine for many centuries as a therapeutic agent of vertigo by wind, fire and phlegm. CheonghunHwadam-tangGamypang(CHTG) was CHT adding Aurantii Fructus(AF), Gastrodae Rhizoma(GR). The effects of CHT on the cerebral blood flow and cardiacvascular system is not known. The purpose of this Study was to investigate effects of CHT and CHTG on the regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF), mean arterial blood pressure(BP), cardiac muscle contractile force(CMF), heart rate(HR). The changes of cerebral blood flow and movement of cardiacvascular system(BP, CMF, HR) was determinated by Laser-Doppler Rowmetry(LDF). The results were as follows; 1. CHT extract increased rCBF, but decreased BP, HR in a dose-dependent manner. 2. AF extract accelerated rCBF and movement of cardiacvascular system in a dose-dependent manner. 3. GR extract increased significantly rCBF(10.0mg/kg, p<0.05) as well as accelerated BP and rCBF in a dose-dependent manner. 4. CHTG extract increased significantly rCBF(10.0mg/kg, p<0.01) in a dose-dependent, but was not changed movement of cardiacvascular system. This results suggest that CHTG is significantly treated more than CHT in vertigo by wind, fire and phlegm.

  • Optical flow estimation based on multi constraint approaches is frequently used for recognition of moving objects. However, the use have been confined because of OF estimation time as well as error problem. This paper shows a new method form effectively extracting movement information using the multi-constraint base approaches with sobel edge detection. The moving objects anr extraced in the input image sequence using edge detection and segmentation. Edge detection and difference of the two input image sequence gives us the moving objects in the images. The process of thresholding removes the moving objects detected due to noise. After thresholding the real moving objects, we applied the Combinatorial Hough Transform (CHT) and voting accumulation to find the optimal constraint lines for optical flow estimation. The moving objects found in the two consecutive images by using edge detection and segmentation greatly reduces the time for comutation of CHT. The voting based CHT avoids the errors associated with least squares methods. Calculation of a large number of points along the constraint line is also avoided by using the transformed slope-intercept parameter domain. The simulation results show that the proposed method is very effective for extracting optical flow vectors and hence recognizing moving objects in the images.
