In this study the CGS as an injection method by low slump mortar was performed the pilot test to confirm the applicability of this method and the effectiveness of settlement restraint. From the results, there has been concluded the construction control standard such as an institutional diameter, space, depth, injection materials, Infection pressure etc. Also, there has been estimated the ground improvement effectiveness which has resulted from the field investigation and consolidation test etc. From the results, in the adjacent ground the CGS, generally, has been confirmed to in-crease ground strength to improve the consolidation characteristic obtained from the field investigation and consolidation test. Especially, the CGS which performed the larger stiffness to the ground has been concluded that the settlement restraint to the ground complicates the ground effect which Increases the bearing capacity and stress assignment. So, the CGS can be considered as an effective method to increase the bearing capacity as well as the settlement restraint of soft ground.
In this study the pilot test of CGS as injection method by low slump mortar was performed and the results were analyzed in order to find out the application of this method and effect of settlement restraint. The site far pilot test is adjacent to apartments supported by pile foundations. Sand drain method was performed previously as countermeasures against settlement, but settlement occur continuously because this ground is very soft. Site investigations such as SPT, DCPT and vane shear test were performed to determine the characteristics of ground improvement. Field measurements and FDM analysis were performed on purpose to find out the displacement of ground during injection works. From the results of this study, CGS method can be optimized by the control of diagram, space, depth, injection material, and injection pressure. CGS improved soft ground compositely by the bearing effect of CGS columns and reinforcement of adjacent ground. Considering that increase of N value is about 2.1, CGS can be considered as an effective method to increase the bearing capacity as well as to stop the settlement of soft ground. It is also expected to be economic and effective in improvement of ground when it is used in applicable sites.
Grounds of the western coast of the Korean Peninsular are mostly composed of soft and cohesive soils, and it is necessary to carry out soil improvement before construction. The CGS (Compaction Grouting System) method has been commonly applied for the purpose of not only improving soft ground but also serving as the pile foundation of a bridge. In this paper, the CGS method was applied to the Incheon International Airport facility site, which consists of reclaimed landfill and soft clay soil, so as to evaluate the applicability of this soil improvement method to soft clay ground formations. Futhermore, results of construction were intensively studied along with a series of field experiments and theoretical consideration. The cone penetration tests were performed to assess the ground improvement effect of the CGS method. Consequently, the application of CGS method led to an increase in soil strength enough to be used as the pile foundation to support the bridge at the site. In addition, the size of the upper grout-bulb was estimated by adopting the cavity expansion theory and compared with that of actual grout bulb exhumed in the field. Therefore, it is proved that the cavity expansion theory can be utilized to predict and evaluate the improvement of soft ground.

In this study, to suggest an efficient method of using coal gasification slag(CGS), a byproduct from integrated gasification combined cycle(IGCC), as a combined fine aggregate for concrete mixture, the diverse performances of concrete mixtures with combined fine aggregates of CGS, river sand, and crushed sand were evaluated. Additionally, using CGS, the reduction of the hydration heat and the strength developing performance were analyzed to provide a method for reducing the heat of hydration of mass concrete by using combined fine aggregate with CGS and replacing fly ash with cement. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: as a method of recycling CGS from IGCC as concrete fine aggregate, a combination of CGS with crushed sand offers advantages for the concrete mixture. Additionally, when the CGS combined aggregate is used with low-heat-mix designed concrete with fly ash, it has the synergistic effect of reducing the hydration heat of mass concrete compared to the low-heat-designed concrete mixture currently in wide use.
In this study the case of ground improvement by CGS as injection method were analyzed in order to find out effect of behavior of sandy soil and the application of this method as ground improvement. The study were analyzed N value after CGS work of sandy soil by many sites test. Considering that increase of N value, CGS can be considered as an effective method to increase the bear capacity as well as constrain the settlement of soft ground From the results of this study, N value after CGS work of sandy soil were closed to N value of ground and relative density(Dr), improvement ratio(As) of grouting and the study will be done continuously for finding out relation of them
Recenlty, there are many cases that structures are constructed on soft ground in domestic. Generally in those cases, appropriate geotechnical techniques for the ground are needed. In this study, an example for ground improvement of OO railroad station construction site is introduced and analyzed. The ground conditions of this site which is soft ground are that N value is under 6, average depth and ground water table is 24.4m, GL-1.7. So, as a countermeasure technique for bearing reinforcement, Compaction Grouting System (CGS) method was applied on construction site. To estimate the application of CGS method, piezo cone penetration test and static pile loading test were carried out during the construction. Results of analysis show that CGS method for improving the bearing capacity of soft ground is applicable for the ground well.

The CGS method is non-discharge replacement method improving ground stiffness by the effect of static compaction with injecting very low slump mortar into ground, and is applied for increasing bearing capacity and filling ground cavity by lifting or restoring differential settled structures and preventing differential settlement. This paper suggests design of ground improvement and construction case history for civil engineering structures by CGS method. This method can be used for reinforcing soft ground and liquefaction of loose sandy soil. This method was used in SongDo area in Incheon Economic Free Zone due to its low vibration of ground while it can improve the soft soil where underground structures(subway and box culvert) are already existed.
Limestone typically forms large caverns such as reticular caverns or limestone caves, and also forms sinkhole and doline. These caverns cause different settlement when constructing roads, dams, etc. because the foundation cannot sustain the upper structures. So it is necessary to reinforce foundation such as cavern filling method, etc. In this study, ground reinforcement for structure foundation was carried out using CGS method in limestone cavity area and evaluation of reinforcement effect from engineering viewpoint was conducted through the field test. Among others, boring test was carried out to identify the ground structure and engineering characteristics. After CGS reinforcement, boring test was conducted for supplementary verification, and with reinforcement core taken during boring test, rock test was carried out to identify the physical properties of reinforcement material. After applying CGS method, rock test of the typical specimen, among reinforcement cores, taken from boring test was carried out and physical properties of the reinforcement was identified. As a result of compressive test of core sample, material inside the cavity was filled properly, indicating compressive strength of 12.2~19.2(MPa) which was evaluated acceptable. Thus the limestone cavity proved to have been reinforced successfully.

$CuGaSe_2$ (CGS) layers were grown by the hot wall epitaxy method. The optimum temperatures of the substrate and source for growth turned out to be 450 and $610^{\circ}C$, respectively. Based on the absorption measurement, the band-gap variation of CGS was well interpreted by the Varshni's equation. By analyzing these emissions, a band diagram of the observed optical transitions was obtained. From the solar cell measurement, an 11.17 % efficiency on the n-CdS/p-CGS junction was achieved.
