Visualization of Unsteady DC Electro-osmotic flow by using Methods of Coupling Fortran and CFX Codes (포트란-CFX 연동해석 기법을 이용한 비정상 DC 전기삼투 유동 가시화)

  • In this study, we present methods of coupling a commercial code, ANSYS CFX, and the user Fortran codes for solving an unsteady electro-osmotic flow around a pair of electrodes, receiving DC, attached to the top and the bottom walls of a two-dimensional cavity. We developed a module of Fortran programs for solving the ion-transport equations as well as the Poisson equations for the potential to be used in coupling with the CFX. We present how the developed codes are applied to solving the transient DC electro-osmotic flow problem within a simple cavity. We also address various problems encountered during the development process and explain why such problems are raised.

  • 본 연구에서는 ANSYS CFX 모형을 이용하여 임의형상 파샬플륨 내에서의 유동모의 및 해석을 수행하였다. 상류경계조건으로 파샬플륨 상류 2m 지점을 기점으로 하여 상류수위를 0.2, 0.25 그리고 0.3m로 변화시켰으며, 하류경계조건은 상류수위의 0.5, 0.8 그리고 0.9로 변화시키면서 모의를 수행하였다. 모의된 결과는 수리모형실험으로부터 측정된 결과와 FLOW-3D 모형에 의한 모의결과와의 비교를 통해 검증하였다. 또한, 격자 시스템의 조밀도 정도(T-1, T-2, T-3, T-4)에 따른 유동변화 양상을 분석하였다.

CFD Analysis of EFD-CFD Workshop Case 3 using Commercial and Open Source CFD codes (상용 및 오픈소스 CFD 코드를 이용한 EFD-CFD 워크샵 Case 3 해석)

  • Computational fluid dynamics analysis was performed for the case 3 of the EFD-CFD workshop. Solvers were used for three commercial CFD codes(Star-CCM+, Fluent and CFX) and an open source CFD code(SU2). The grid were generated four types depending on the total cells using commercial grid generation code(Pointwise). Mach number of 0.4 and 0.8, 2 degree angle of attack and Mach number of 0.9, 1 degree angle of attack were calculated. Similar pressure coefficient curve and normal force coefficient were showed from the coarse grid to fine grid of four codes. But there is a difference in the drag coefficient. The position of the shock wave was predicted forward as the discretization order increased in calculations using Star-CCM+ and Fluent. The computation time to converge, Fluent, Star-CCM +, CFX are in order, and SU2 takes much time to converge.

  • Trichlorethane (TCE) is known as one of major carcinogens. TCE is difficult to be incinerated environmentally friendly, so pyrolysis is suggested for TCE treatment. In this study, we examined effects of cylinder-type pyrolysis reactor design parameters like existence of baffle inside reactor and reactor operating condition like heating reactor wall temperature and residence time numerically using CFX 4.3, a commercial computational fluid dynamic program.

A study on Flow Characteristic inside Passenger's Compartment under Recirculation Cool vent mode using CFX (CFX를 이용한 내부순환모드에서의 자동차 내부 유동특성 연구)

  • The flow characteristics under recirculation cool vent mode is numerically studied using commercial fluid dynamic code(CFX). For the reliable analysis, real vehicle and human FE model is employed in grid generation process. The geometrical location and shape of panel vent, and exhaust vent is set as that of real vehicle model. The flowrate of the working fluid is determined as 330CMH which is equivalent to 70 percent of maximum capacity of HVAC system. The high velocity regions are formed around 4 each panel vent. Because of the non-symmetrically located exhaust, non-uniform flow and partial backflow near the door trim is observed. Streaklines start from each panel vent show the flow pattern of the airflow in the passenger's compartment very well.

  • This paper describes a CFD investigation into the flow over the cab of a bluff-fronted lorry. Several different simulations were undertaken, using the commercial codes: CFX, Fluent and PowerFLOW. Using the $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model, the flow over the cab was symmetric, however, using more accurate turbulence models such as the RNG $k-{\varepsilon}$ model or the Reynolds Stress Model, the flow was asymmetric. The paper discusses whether this phenomenon is a real effect or whether it is a solver artefact and the study is supported by experimental evidence. The findings are preliminary, but suggest that it has a physical origin and that it may be aspect ratio-dependent.

액막의 유동 및 온도계산 모델에 의한 PCCS 열전달 현상 해석

  • 범용 전산유체 해석코드인 CFX 4.1을 사용하여 철재격납용기 표면을 전열면으로 이용하는 피동격납용기냉각계통에 대한 열전달 현상해석을 수행하였다. 철재격납용기 내부와 외부 채널에서 발생하는 열전달 현상을 모사하기 위하여 액막의 유동 및 온도계산 모델을 범용 전산유체해석코드인 CFX4.1에 적용하여 철재격납용기 내.외부의 표면을 흐르는 액막의 높이, 액막내 온도분포, 철재격납용기 내.외부의 온도, 유속 및 부피분율 등을 계산하는 복합 열전달 해석 방법론을 개발하였다. 해석결과는 향후 실험 둥을 통한 검증이 필요하나 피동형 격납용기템각계통에서 발생하는 물리적 현상들의 복합적인 거동 분석에 사용될 수 있는 것으로 평가되었다.

Prediction of Flow coefficient according to accuracy of opening Bellows Seal Valve (벨로우즈 실 밸브의 개폐정도에 따른 유량계수의 예측)

  • The valve is used on control of flow in a ship. Flow coefficient of valve is very importance in the design of valve. In this paper, three-dimensional computer simulations by commercial code CFX were conducted to observe the valve type and to measure flow coefficient when valves with various angles and uniform incoming velocity were used in a piping system. By contrast, a group of experimental data is used to compare with the data obtained by CFX simulation to investigate the validity of numerical method.

범용 전산유체 코드를 이용한 봉 다발에서의 난류 유동 수치해석

  • 범용 전산유체해석(Computational Fluid Dynamics) 코드인 CFX-F3D를 이용하여 봉 다발에서의 난류 유동 수치해석을 수행하였다 3$\times$3 봉으로 구성된 부수로 사이의 난류 횡류(Crossflow) 혼합유동과 평행한 4개의 봉으로 이루어진 벽 수로에서의 난류 유동구조를 수치적으로 분석하여 각각의 실험결과와 비교하였다. 부수로 횡류 혼합유동의 경우 예측된 주 유동방향 평균 속도분포는 실험결과와 잘 일치하였으나 벽면과 인접한 부수로에서의 난류강도 분포는 다소 큰 차이가 나타났다. 백수로의 경우 수로 중심선 근처의 주 유동방향의 속도변화는 크게 예측되었고 벽 전단응력은 유로가 협소해지는 영역에서 낮게 예측되었으나 전반적으로 실험결과와 유사한 유동특성을 나타냈다. 이 연구는 봉 다발에서의 난류 유동구조에 대한 이해를 증진시킴과 더불어 CFX-F3D 코드를 평가함으로써 향후 지지격자와 임계열유속 증진장치가 부착된 복잡한 형상의 핵연료 다발에서의 유동장 수치해석의 기반을 마련하였다.
