유동/구조 연성해석기법을 이용한 Foil Bearing의 변형 및 유동 특성 해석 (An Analysis of the Flow Characteristics and Deformation of a Multileaf Foil Bearing by Using the Fluid/structure Interaction Method)

  • As machines become smaller and faster multileaf foil bearings are used to overcome the problems with heat, friction and wear Systems with foil bearings do not need a separate system for lubrication. These bearings are self acting and are therefore green systems. Until now, there have been many studies on the structural and dynamical performances. Therefore the object of the present study is to predict the flow and structural characteristics by using the Fluid/structure interaction method. The increase in RPM led to the increase in pressure, temperature difference, maximum velocity, Mach number, shear stress and torque. In the case of 90,000 RPM effects such as choking led to a non-lineararity in the system. Also the effect of eccentricity ratio was observed and showed that eccentricity increased the maximum pressure and the density difference while decreasing the shear stress and torque.

  • A cryogenic butterfly valve is used to transfer the liquefied natural gas (LNG) which temperature is $-162^{\circ}C$. This valve is core part in the piping system using LNG. This paper performed coupling analysis using FEM to evaluate safety of cryogenic butterfly valve. Flow analysis is calculated numerically the CAE and CFD methods are useful to predict the thermal matter and the inner flow field of the valve. Thermal analysis and structural analysis used ANSYS Workbench.

칩 말림 방지를 위한 고압 분사 노즐 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design of High Pressure Injection Nozzle for Avoiding Chip Curling)

  • In this study, it was grasped to the flow characteristics of cutting fluid injected by nozzle installed in high pressure holder for avoiding chip curling occurred during machining process. And for avoiding chip curling, the possibility of elimination under various chip conditions was checked. Consequently, the highest discharging pressure and velocity was shown in 150 of nozzle inflow angle. Also as nozzle outlet diameter is small, the pressure and velocity of injected flow are high. Moreover, It could be confirmed that width and thickness of chip have no direct effect on chip elimination and it is achieved by torque generated by injected cutting fluid.

  • 풍력발전에 사용하는 풍력터빈의 블레이드의 적어도 20년 이상의 설계수명이 요구된단. 블레이드는 바람에 의한 압력, 지지대 구조에 의해서 가해지는 힘과 모멘트에 의해 블레이드에 변형이 가해진다. 특히 바람에 의해 블레이드는 연속적인 하중을 받아서 재료를 손상시킨다. 본 연구에서는 블레이드와 허브로 구성된 모델을 이용하여, 전산유체해석을 일차적으로 수행하여 블레이드 주변의 압력분포를 구하였다. 계산된 압력을 이용하여 다음 단계로 유한요소해석을 수행하여 블레이드 재료에 발생하는 응력을 계산하여 피로해석을 수행하였다. 피로해석을 통해 재료에 미치는 손상률을 구하였다. 다양한 블레이드 피치 각도과 바람의 속도에 따라 해석결과를 비료 분석하였다.

  • Pipe vibration caused great threat to the safety in production. Strong pipeline vibration will line accessories, especially the joints and pipe fittings etc. pipe joints loosening and rupture, causing serious accidents. By the action of the compressor constant fluid flow within the pipe, this process produces pulsating fluid flow may cause vibration of the pipe, thereby reducing the efficiency of the pipeline, structural vibration induced fatigue, thereby resulting in even piping structural damage. This paper studies on the vibration problems caused by fluid, by analyzing the causes of pipeline vibration and factors affecting pipeline vibrations, FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis of modal and enforced vibration.

비즈니스 제트 항공기 날개의 천음속 공탄성 해석 (Transonic Aeroelastic Analysis of Business Jet Aircraft Wing Model)

  • In this study, transonic aeroelastic response analyses have been conducted for the business jet aircraft configuration considering shockwave and flow separation effects. The developed fluid-structure coupled analysis system is applied for aeroelastic computations combining computational structural dynamics(CSD), finite element method(FEM) and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) in the time domain. It can give very accurate and useful engineering data on the structural dynamic design of advanced flight vehicles. For the nonlinear unsteady aerodynamics in high transonic flow region, Navier-Stokes equations using the structured grid system have been applied to wing-body configurations. In transonic flight region, the characteristics of static and dynamic aeroelastic responses have been investigated for a typical wing-body configuration model. Also, it is typically shown that the current computation approach can yield realistic and practical results for aircraft design and test engineers.

  • In this study, steady and unsteady aerodynamic analyses of a huge rocket configuration have been conducted in a transonic flow region. The launch vehicle structural response are coupled with the transonic flow state transitions at the nose of the payload fairing. The developed fluid-structure coupled analysis system is applied for aeroelastic computations combining computational structural dynamics(CSD), finite element method(FEM) and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) in the time domain. It can give very accurate and useful engineering data on the structural dynamic design of advanced flight vehicles.   • The Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) has attracted attention as an alternative numerical algorithm for solving fluid mechanics, and its intrinsic unsteadiness and weak numerical damping make it more suitable for aeroacoustic problems. In this paper, applicability of the LBM for solving flow noise problems is tested by applying it to predict transmission loss of a simple expansion silencer. The time history of the static pressure is recorded at the inlet and outlet pipes. The transmission loss (TL) of the muffler is computed by using three point method and two source method, respectively. The TL calculated using the LBM is compared with that computed using finite element method (FEM) and measured data. It is found through these comparisons that the LBM is capable of predicting TL of the simple expansion silencer accurately, which it is difficult to predict using the conventional CFD methods based on the RANS solvers.

An estimation of static aerodynamic forces of box girders using computational fluid dynamics

  • This study has focused on aerodynamics for a wind-resistance design about the single and tandem box girder sections to realize a super-long span bridge in the near future. Three-dimensional static analysis of flows around the fundamental single and tandem box girder sections with fairing is carried out by means of the IBTD/FS finite element technique with LES turbulence model. As the results of the analysis, computations have verified aerodynamic characteristics of both sections by the histories of aerodynamic forces, the separation and reattachment flow patterns and the surface pressure distributions. The relationship between the section shapes and the aerodynamic characteristics is also investigated in both sections. And the mechanism about the generation of fluctuating aerodynamic forces is discussed.

최소항력을 갖는 비행선의 구조 및 공력 설계 (Aerodynamic and Structural design of Low drag Airship)

  • The Airship which uses light gases(Helium) can afford to be managed safely, and economically. In this paper, it executed Airship aerodynamic design using Theory of the Airship shape. With the change of main design factor, aerodynamic coefficients were investigated by FLUENT and the shape of the Airship which has low drag was chosen. For low drag coefficient of the Airship, the theory of traditional Airship shape was used. The structural analysis of the Airship is executed by ANSYS.
