여수화력 순환유동상 보일러의 설계특성 고찰 (A Study on Design Characteristics of Yeosu Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler)

  • 340 MWe circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler in Yeosu power station is under construction. The circulating fluidized bed boiler in the Yeosu power plant has a number of differences from other domestic boilers in terms of scale and design. Evaluation of design parameters of the Yeosu CFB boiler should be required because the direct application of existing technology is limited. In this study, design characteristics of the Yeosu CFB boiler was summarized. And thermogravimetric analysis was conducted with comparing other rank coals. Watersteam side heat absorption, flue gas temperature and heat transfer coefficient were calculated by heat and mass balance. Design parameters for the Yeosu CFB boiler were discussed along with typical value in the CFB design range.

  • The circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler has some problems to scale up. Several engineering solutions have been proposed by a few suppliers which had advanced CFB technology. Large-scale CFB design concepts from different suppliers were reviewed and compared. Points of the hydrodynamic and heat recovery were summarized and discussed for developing the guideline of the large-scale circulating fluidized bed boilers.

  • Circulating fluided bed(CFB) furnace which can use a variety of low-grade fuels because of high heat capacity and good mixing characteristic in its furnace have turned out to be effective system. There is no many research to predict performance considering total boiler system with water-steam side. Most of performance prediction model have focused on hydrodynamics or chemical mechanism in furnace. so, This study is aimed to develop performance prediction model which consider water-steam side.

  • With the increasing trend in CFB(Circulating Fluidized Bed) boiler scale, the EHE(External Heat Exchanger) must be adopted to the large-scale boilers to recover insufficient heat transfer surface. In this study, the numerical analysis model for EHE in commercial 300MWe CFB boiler was developed with the inclusion of mechanistic model, which enables the heat transfer prediction. Finally, the calculated absorbed heat and derived heat transfer coefficient are evaluated through the verification with experimental data.

  • Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) is a technically and economically proven technology for boiler systems and large CFB coal boilers are making inroads into the domestic power boiler market. For biomass gasification, it is also considered as a very promising technology for commercial. Due to the lack of experiences of a large scale CFB gasifier, however, any large scale CFB gasifiers are hard to in Korea in spite of fast-growing demand of domestic market. In this study, a 3 $MW_{th}$ CFB gasifier was developed for biomass gasification. The CFB gasifier consists of interconnected fast and bubbling fluidized bed reactors including unique features for in-situ tar removal. Various numerical and experimental approaches will be presented such as basic modeling works, investigation of hydrodynamics with a cold model, computational particle fluid dynamics and experiments in the 3 MWth gasifier.

So far accurate hydrodynamics and combustion mechanism information in CFB furnace has been lacked. Therefore, design method that derives design parameter is being made. so, this study is aimed to derive design parameters of CFB furnace from heat and mass balance by using existing plant data.

  • One of the major concerns of our time is the need to use energy economically and rationally while at the same time, protecting the environment. Circulating Fluidized Bed(CFB) Boilers represent a proven, very attractive clean coal technology, with the added advantage of an unusual fuel flexibility CFB boiler is the best available compromise between cost and environment for fossil fuel power plant. This paper briefly describes CFB process and 200MW CFB boiler for Tonghae power plant. Also, discussed are differences between the control process of fluidized bed and conventional boilers, and applied control process for Tonghae power plant.

  • 국내 무연탄을 사용하는 미분탄 화력보일러(영동화력 2호기)를 대상으로 비교적 고효율, 저비용으로 전기를 생산하는 청정보일러인 순환유동층 보일러로의 전환 시 경제성 평가 및 민감도 분석을 수행하였다. 경제성 평가는 크게 순환 유동층 보일러로의 전환 시와 기존의 미분탄 보일러를 유지 시에 각각의 투자금액에 대한 경제성 평가와 이의 비교를수행하였으며, 더불어 전력시장의 상황 변화에 따른 경제성 민감도 분석을 수행하였다. 경제성 평가 결과, 현 상태에서는 전력산업기반기금이 지원을 받고 있는 무연탄 발전사업의 특성상 기존 보일러를 유지하는 것이 경제성 지표가 더 좋은 것으로 평가되었으나, 전력산업기반기금의 지원 형태 및 그 규모에 따라 순환유동층으로의 전환이 장기적 발전사업 및 기반기금의 효율적 집행 그리고 국가 에너지 이용률에 있어 더 좋은 경제 지표를 나타내는 것으로 평가되었다

  • Circulating Fluidized-Bed (CFB) boilers which have been operated in Korea were manufactured by the design technology of foreign leading companies. As they are not active to transfer their technology, domestic companies don't have the enough ability to design it independently yet. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd. and Korean Institute of Energy Research are trying to develop and improve the particle re-circulating device among the components of CFB boiler. Our purpose is to control the amount of particles leaving the re-circulating system by adjusting utility air and reuse the heat of circulating particles. The results of experiments with cold model system show that a fluidization state in the particle re-circulating device is very stable when the amount of utility air is supplied to its wind box with 2.29 times of minimum fluidization velocity. Also the amount of particles entering the riser don't increase linearly when the amount of utility air is supplied over 2.5 times of minimum fluidization velocity. Now we are testing its functional run with the hotstate experiment set-up.

1MWe급 순환유동층 열병합 보일러 운전연구 (Combustion Study of 1MWe Circulating Fluidized Boiler for RDF)

  • 폐기물 고형연료의 순환유동층 연소기술의 시범을 위하여 파일롯트 규모 순환유동층 연소보일러를 설계하고 건설하였다. 보일러의 규모는 출력기준 약 6 MWth에 해당하며 증기질은 $400^{\circ}C$, 38 ata로 설계하였다. 최대 증기출력은 약 8 ton/h에 해당한다. 연료는 RDF로 휘발분을 주성분으로 하며 점화가 빠르고 연소성이 매우 뛰어났으며 보일러의 연소효율은 99.5%를 능가하였다. 순환유동층 RDF 연소의 안정성은 연료중 회분 이외의 이물질의 존재 여부와 신속한 배출 가능성에 크게 의존하였다. 오염물질의 배출농도는 염소를 제외하고는 법적 기준치 이내에 들었다. 또한 60% 정도의 연료중 염소는 비산재에 흡수되는 것으로 나타났다. HCl을 국내 법 규제에 맞추어 제어하기 위해서는 건식 또는 습식 흡수 장치와 같은 별도의 환경설비가 필요하였다.
