Analysis of Performance Improvement by Adopting a Multistage Parallel Interferece Canceller and a Partial Multistage Parallel Interference Canceller on the Asynchronous DS-CDMA/M-ary QAM Systems (비동기 DS-CDMA/M-ary QAM 시스템에서 다단병렬간섭제거기와 부분 다단병렬간섭제거기에 의한 성능 개선 분석)

  • CDMA 2000 1X EV.(HDR, 1XTREME, LAS-CDMA)에서는 고속데이터 전송을 위한 변조방식으로 M-ary QAM을 제안하고 있다. 그러나, M-ary QAM을 사용한 DS-CDMA 시스템은 고속 데이터 전송이 가능한 반면에 M-ary 수가 증가할수록 잡음(AWGN)과 타 사용자에 의한 다중접속간섭(MAI)의 영향이 커져 비트에러율(BER)이 증가하고 채널용량이 급격히 줄어드는 문제점이 있다. 따라서, DS-CDMA/M-ary QAM 시스템에서 많은 사용자에게 고속의 데이터 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 잡음을 줄이거나 MAI를 경감시킬 수 있는 성능 개선 기법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 성능 개선 기법으로서 다단병렬간섭제거기(MPIC : Multistage Parallel Interference Canceller)와 부분 다단병렬간섭제거기(partial MPIC)를 채용한 비동기 DS-CDMA/M-ary QAM 시스템의 성능 개선을 이론적으로 분석하고 이를 검증하기 위한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 결과에서, MPIC와 partial MPIC를 채용함으로써 4 QAM, 16 QAM 및 64 QAM을 사용한 DS-CDMA 시스템의 BER과 채널용량이 크게 개선됨을 확인하였다. MPIC를 채용한 경우는 AWGN 채널의 BER에 근접하였다. 또한, MPIC는 partial MPIC보다 BER 성능이 우수하였으며 더 많은 채널용량 개선을 달성하였다. 그러나, MPIC는 partial MPIC 보다 계산량이 훨씬 많고 복잡한 구조를 갖기 때문에 실제 시스템 구현에 있어서 성능과 복잡도 사이에 타협(tradeoff)이 필요하다.

  • In this paper, an asynchronous multi-rate optical wireless pulse position modulation-code division multiple access (PPM-CDMA) is proposed for an indoor non-directed diffuse channel. As a signature sequence for CDMA, an optical orthogonal code (OOC) is used and an interference cancellation scheme is applied to improve the bit error rate. It is known that the optical PPM-CDMA has advantages due to its power efficiency. Moreover, it provides multi-rate services by varying the modulation level with fixed pulse duration. In the proposed multi-rate PPM-CDMA system with fixed pulse duration, chip rate and sampling time do not change for each transmission rate and this simplifies overall system structure.

  • The contact procedure of access channel necessary to set up the originating call has a close relation with the performance and capacity of the base station system in CDMA cellular network. This paper investigates the structure and the operation of the backward channel of IS-95 CDMA standard and explains the related system parameters. We can derive the throughput of the CDMA access channel depending on the arrivals of the access probes per access channel slot, given the system parameters such as cell radius, the maximum number of retransmission, and the error rates of the access and paging channel. It shows that the performance in throughput is much better in the CDMA IS-95 access channel than in the slotted aloha channel. It also gives the reasonable number of the trafic channels in a cell with the given blocking probability.

  • In this study, the bit error rate(BER) performance for the speech and data traffic is evaluated by results of the reverse link simulation of CDMA-based IMT-2000. Simulations in the reverse link are achieved for indoor, pedestrian, and vehicular environments, which are provided by ITU-R . Also, in the these simulations, the fast power control of 1.6kHz rate is applied. The amplitude and phase of the fading signal are estimated by using the 5-tap FIR filter, and the soft-decision Viterbi and Reed-Solomon (RS) decoding are applied. Simulation results provide the optimum ratio of pilot power to traffic power, the BER performance according to the number of fingers, and performance comparison between convolutional code and concatenated code at $10^-6$ BER in 5 MHz system.

  • The advent of Third Generation (3G) communication systems, with their ability to process real-time multimedia applications and their large bandwidths, will greatly enhance mobile Internet access. Not only does Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and cdma2000 radio technology offer an advantageous density for voice in terms of spectral efficiency, it also supports higher rates and offers differentiated levels of duality of Service (QoS) for data applications. The early introduction of packet and multimedia technologies will be a key element in realizing a quick and successful return on the operator's investments in Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and cdma2000.

  • This paper presents a structure of the searcher using a diversity in array antenna systems operating in the cdma2000 1x signal environments. The new technique exploits the fact that the In-phase and quadrature components of interferers can respectively be viewed as an independent gaussian noise at each antnna element in most practical cdma signal environments. The proposed PN acquisition scheme is a singles-dwell PN acquisition system consisting of two stages, that is, the searching stage and the verification stage. The searching stage independently correlates the receiver multiple signals with PN generator of each antenna element for obtaining the synchronous energy at the entire region. Then, the searching results of each antenna element are non-coherently combinind. The verification stage compares the searching energy with the optimal threshold, which is predesigned in the lock detector, and decides whether the acquisition is successful or fail. In this paper, we analyzed the effect of tile diversity order to determine the mean acquisition time. In general, it is known that the mean acquisition time significantly decrease as the number of antenna elements increases. But, as the diversity order goes up, the enhancement of the performance is saturated. Therefore, to decrease the mean acquisition time of the searcher, we must design the optimal array antenna systems by considering the operating SNR range of the receiver, the probability of detection $P_D$ and that of false alarm $P_{FA}$ . The Performance of the proposed PN acquisition scheme is analyzed in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels. In this paper, the effect of the number of antenna elements on PN acquisition scheme is shown according to the probability of detection $P_D$ and that of false alarm $P_{FA}$.

  • SK Telecom은 2000년 10월 세계 최초로 기존 IS-95A/B망에서 지원하였던 속도인 14.4Kbps나 56Kbps 보다 훨씬 빠른 최고 144Kbps로 무선인터넷이 가능한 CDMA2000 IX를 상용화 하였다. 또한, 2002년 1월에는 CDMA2000 IX보다 15배 이상 빠른 최대 2.4Mbps가 가능한 동기식 3세대 망인 CDMA2000 IxEV-DO를 세계 최초로 상용화 하였다. 이러한 초고속 무선 인터넷 서비스를 위해서 패킷 데이터 처리에 필수적인 PDSN(Packet Data Serving Node), HA(Home Agent), AAA(Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) 등의 노드들로 구성된 Packet Core Network(이하 PCN)이 도입되었으며, 이에 대한 운용 및 관리 방안이 중요한 issue로 등장하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 음성 서비스 관리를 위한 망관리 시스템(Network Management System)과는 다른 개념으로 관리되어야 할 패킷 서비스를 위한 NMS 구축 방안을 제시하고, 필수적인 관리 정보 및 서비스 관리를 위한 방향을 제시한다.

Code Acquisition of W-CDMA Signals by Double-Dwell Serial Search (이중적분 직렬검색을 이용한 W-CDMA 신호의 코드획득에 관한연구)

  • In this paper, we consider a code acquisition of W-CDMA signals over multipath Rayleigh fading channel when double-dwell serial search code acquisition is used for initial synchronization. We derive the detection and false alarm probability, and mean acquisition time mathematically by taking into account of multiple H$\_$l/ cells and double-dwell serial search. It is noteworthy that the more the number of the post-detection integration, the shorter the mean acquisition time in low SNR.
