This paper presents design of spreading codes for asynchronous DS-CDMA systems. We have been trying to generate maximal-period sequences based on one-dimensional maps with finite bits whose shapes are similar to piecewise linear chaotic maps. We propose an efficient search algorithm finding such mammal-period sequences. This algorithm makes it possible to find many kinds of maximal-period sequences with sufficiently long period for CDMA applications. We also investigate bit error rate(BER) in asynchronous DS-CDMA systems using the maximal-period binary sequences by computer simulations.
cdma2000 offers several enhancement as compared to TIA/EIA-95, although it remains fully compatible with TIA/EIA-95 systems and allows for a smooth migration from one to the other-Major new capability include:1)connectivity to GSM-MAP in addition to IP and IS-41 networks; 2) new layering with new LAC and MAC architectures for improved service multiplexing and QoS management and efficient use of radio resource ;3) new bands and band widths of operation in support of various operator need and constraints, as well as desire for a smooth and progressive migration to cdma 2000; and 4) flexible channel structure in support of multiple services with various QoS and variable transmission rates at up to 1 Mbps per channel and 2 Mbps per user. Given the phenomenal success of wireless services and desire for higher rate wireless services. improved spectrum efficiency was a major design goal in the elaboration of cdma2000. Major capacity enhancing features include; 1) turbo coding for data transmission: 2)fast forward link power control :3) forward link transmit diversity; 4) support of directive antenna transmission techniques; 5) coherent reverse link structure; and 6) enhanced access channel operation. As users increasingly rely on their cell phone at work and at home for voice and data exchange, the stand-by time and operation-time are essential parameters that can influence customer's satisfaction and service utilization. Another major goal of cdma2000 was therefore to enable manufacturers to further optimize power utilization in the terminal. Major battery life enhancing features include; 1) improved reverse link performance (i.e., reduced transmit power per information bit; 2) new common channel structure and operation ;3) quick paging channel operation; 4) reverse link gated transmission ; and 5) new MAC stated for efficient and ubiquitous idle time idle time operation. this article provides additional details on those enhancements. The intent is not to duplicate the detailed cdma2000 radio access network specification, but rather to provide some background on the new features of cdma2000 and on the qualitative improvements as compared to the TIA/EIA-95 based systems. The article is focused on the physical layer structure and associated procedures. It therefore does not cover the MAC, LAC, radio resource management [1], or any other signaling protocols in any detail. We assume some familiarity with the basic CDMA concepts used in TIA/EIA-95.
In MC-CDMA systems effects of delay spread of the channel are reduced with increased symbol duration by simultaneously transmitting data symbols on the parallel subcarriers. However, the increased symbol duration causes the system to be more vulnerable to time selective fading. In other words, although MC-CDMA systems are robust against frequency selective fading in a multipath environment, they are sensitive to Doppler spread and hence inter-carrier interference is increased. In this paper, we investigate the effects of time selective fading characteristics of the mobile channel from the viewpoint of desired signal power to inter-carrier interference power ratio at the combiner output of the MC-CDMA receiver.
A spatio-temporal vector channel model is introduced for the position location (PL) estimation problem for CDMA cellular system environment. Two common ways for the PL make use of the AOA (Angle Of Arrival) and TDOA (Time Difference Of Arrival) from a subscriber to the multiple sensors (base stations). In this paper, we applied the derived vector channel to simulate the multipath channel for the angle of the signal arrival in CDMA systems. Cross-correlation method is a good candidate among other direction finding algorithms available in literature, especially in wideband modulation as in the CDMA system. The PL estimation errors are evaluated for different channels, which are obtained as a parameter of scattering radius of the suggested model. We noted that the number of sensors (base-stations) are related to the PL errors in favor of the available data.
In this paper, we apply a digital modulation scheme called Multi-Carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) to the technique for cochannel interference cancellation using reference correlator, previously proposed. The cancellatoin method will be effective for reducing the interference components which are other users'signal components in a common channel, but fading effect of channel remains as the degrading factor of channel condition. For compensating it, MC-CDMA scheme is introduced to combat agianst the multipath fading. We analize above system and derive the average probability of error in AWGN and Rayleigh fading environment.
In this paper, we compare the bit-error-rate performance of the fast-frequency-hopped spread-spectrum multiple-access (FFH/SSMA) and direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems in a Rician fading channel. Each system has a same data rate, bandwidth and transmits over a Rician fading channel. The results illustrate tradoffs in performance between the FFH/SSMA and DS/CDMA systems as a function of the parameters such as average signal to noise ratio and processing gain. The performance of the FFH/SSMA system is shown to be less sensitive to the change of fading environments, while the change of processing gain and average signal to noise ratio gives considerable affect to the FFH/SSMA system compared with the DS/CDMA system. Without respect to the change of system parameters, for most of Rician fading channels (except non-fading channel), FFH/SSMA system gives better performance than DS/CDMA system in BBR < 10$\^$-3/.
긴 블럭 크기의 터보부호는 AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) 채널 환경에서 매우 좋은 성능을 보이는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 또한 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project)의 W-CDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access)에서는 터보부호를 에러 정정 코드로 강력하게 권장하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 MRC(Maximal Ratio Combining) 다이버시티와 SOVA(Soft Output Viterbi Algorithm)에 기초한 터보부호를 동시에 갖는 RAKE 수신기를 적용한 10MHz 시스템 대역폭을 갖는 W-CDMA 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다.
이 논문에서는 Pre-FFT 빔 형성기를 가진 MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Out)-OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)시스템 구조에 적합한 적응 빔 형성기법과 결합된 전력제어 기법을 제안한다.
