Peritoneal lymphomatosis (PL) is a rare lymphoid neoplasm in dogs. A nine-year-old spayed female Labrador retriever presented with pleural and peritoneal effusions. Diagnostic imaging revealed diffuse nodular to massive lesions in the mesentery, particularly in the caudal abdomen. While the superficial lymph nodes did not show significant changes, enlargement was observed in the intra-abdominal and intra-thoracic lymph nodes. Cytological and flow cytometric analyses of the effusion indicated the presence of large B-cell lymphocytes expressing CD3^-/CD5^-/CD14^-/CD21^-/CD34⁺/CD45⁺/CD79a⁺. PL was diagnosed using diagnostic imaging and fluid analysis. This case report highlights the clinical and diagnostic features of canine PL.

안전등급 Ni-Cd 축전지는 품질수명이 15-25년으로 환경시험 등을 통하여 입증되었지만, 설치후 7년이 경과한 한국 원자력 연구소 방사성 폐기물 처리시설의 안전등급 Ni-Cd 축전지는 1992년에 실시한 최초의 용량시험 결과 기준용량에 미달하였다. 안전등급 Ni-Cd 축전지와 관련된 각종 유지보수 기술을 조사하고, 용량복구를 위한 증류수와 전해질 성분의 적절한 보충, 충전과 방전 특성의 적용, 활성제 보충, 전극의 청소를 통하여 매년 성능이 회복되어서 1995년도 용량시험시에는 기준용량을 초과하였으므로 안전등급 Ni-Cd 축전지의 용량 문제해결 사례로 소개한다.

Water extracts of rice grasshopper (Oxya japonica japonica Thurnberg) were prepared and their antitumor and immunostimulatory activities were investigated using a flow cytometer. When LCT-CT was ip injected into ICR mice at the dose of 33.3 mg/kg before and after the implantation of $4{\times}10^5$ cells/mouse of sarcoma 180 tumor cells, it inhibited the growth of the tumor cells by 96.6%, showed lymphoblstogenic activities on the splenic lymphocytes and increased the expression of CD25 molecules on the splenic T lymphocytes. When co-cultured with the splenic lymphocytes of a BALB/c mouse, LCT-CT showed strong immunostimulatory activities at the concentration of $25{\sim}100{\mu}g/ml$ by significantly increasing lymphoblasts ratio and CD25 expression.

Man-made cadmium (Cd) emissions can be transported between environmental matrices and the food chain. Food is the primary source of Cd exposure among general population as a consequence of the bioconcentration of Cd from soil. Chronic Cd exposure has been reported to be associated with chronic kidney disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) established the safe level of Cd intake as provisional tolerable monthly intake (PTMI) of $25{\mu}g/kg\;bw$ in 2010. The major food groups that contribute to the most Cd exposure are rice and grains, shellfish and sea food, meat including edible offal, and vegetables. A number of studies reported the high Cd contaminated levels in foods from polluted areas in Thailand. The results are of high concern since the contaminations occur in foods that are major Cd contributors. Thus, in this review, the current situations of Cd contaminated foods in polluted areas of Thailand are summarized. In addition, the Cd intakes from selected scenarios are estimated to assess the potential health risk to consumers and the suggestions are also included.

This is a practical study on acquisition and efficiently use of CD-ROM databases of diverse subject areas which in recent has rapidly increased in quantity. This study was concentrated on the proposition of production CD-ROM database and intended to give effective ideas of its design. I analysed and compared several CD-ROM databases in aspects of their menu configuration and information retrieval technics, so that may present a rational norm.

This study examines the effect of luminance contrast ratio of character on readability and visual fatigue during an hour-long reading session while using a tablet PC in ambient environments having low luminance limited to $25cd/m^2$. Experiments were conducted with four patterns of the tablet's luminance contrast ratio of characters, namely 1:2.5, 1:4.5, 1:6.5, and 1:8.5, in low ambient luminance of $9cd/m^2$ and $25cd/m^2$. The obtained results show that the characters can be easily read at the luminance contrast ratio of character of 1:8.5 under surface luminance of $25cd/m^2$. Visual fatigue was evaluated through a subjective survey of symptoms. Physical, psychological, and visual fatigue were observed at a surface luminance of $9cd/m^2$, whereas solely visual fatigue was felt at a surface luminance of $25cd/m^2$. By assessing the physical fatigue using the value, it has been found that smaller the luminance contrast ratio of character, greater is the CFF variation rate. Furthermore, readability is poor and visual fatigue can be observed when the surface luminance is lower than the ambient luminance. However, readability can be improved by increasing the luminance contrast ratio of character to a value of 1:8.5. Thus, in low luminance environments, luminance contrast ratio of characters can affect readability and fatigue. Consider providing the full form of "CFF" so that the acronym can be used unambiguously throughout the manuscript.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to confirm whether or not coral has a preventive effect on development of atopic dermatitis induced by house mite(dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) in NC/Nga mice. Methods : This study was undertaken by using a reliable Atopic dermatitis mouse model demonstrating similar immune response. Lobophytum crassum was administered orally to NC/Nga mouse for 3 weeks. In order to verify the effectiveness of Lobophytum crassum in atopic dermatitis treatment, its role in immune factors were observed in NC/Nga mice. Results : ALT, AST, BUN and creatine levels were all within in the normal ranges in MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) treated groups, indicating no induced toxicity. MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups decreased of atopic dermatitis skin manifestation in NC/Nga mouse of MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups compared to that of the control group and decreased the ratio of WBC and lymphocyte in blood. Also, MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups significant decreased the ratio of CD4+, CD8+, CD11b+/Gr1+, B220/CD23 and CD4/CD25 immune cell ratio in ALN. Finally MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups significantly increased the ratio of CD4+, CD8+, B220/CD23 and CD4/CD25 immune cells in DLN. Conclusions : Theses results suggested that Lobophytum crassum has suppressive effects on aberrant and overactive immunological activities in dermatophagoides pteronyssinus-induced dermatitis mice of NC/Nga.

The formation constants of the mixed-ligand complexes in the Cd(II), Cu(II) and Pb(II)-Trien-OH system were studied by polarograph. The formation constant $(log{\beta}_{ij})$ was determined at $25^{\circ}C$ in the ionic strength of 0.1. It was also confirmed that the mixed ligand complexes in this system were formed above pH 10.2, 10.5 and 9.0 for Cu(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) by the calculation of the distribution for complexes at the various pH. Masking of Cd(II) by conversion to anionic EDTA-complexes has been used to separate Cu(II) from Cd(II) through passage of a combined Trien-EDTA solution on an cationic resin column. The optimal condition for the separation of Cu(II) from Cd(II) is confirmed at the pH range above 9.0, not only by considering the theoretical equation of the conditional-exchange-constant of metal on the cation exchange resin,but also by calculating the distribution of the mixed ligand complexes in the resin at the various pH with computer. By analyzing the synthetic sample of Cu(II) and Cd(II) with a EDTA masking at pH 9.5, it is found that the results of the experiment are satisfied with the theoretical value.

CDLIB system, a CD-ROM network system constructed in the KTRC, made all the users connected with KTRC TRAN share the many CD-ROM drives and the massive information on the CD-ROM discs. The system is composed of CD-ROM network server, file server and the software which allows the users to retrieve CD-ROM discs through the network. This system has the following strong points : cost-effectiveness in the aspect of sharing the CD-ROM resources in the LAN environment and high system performance.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of Eucomiae Cortex herbal-acupuncture solution(EC-HAS) at Joksamni(ST36) on arthritis of mice induced by Collagen II. Methods : The author performed several experimental items. First, it is the cell survival rate of mice lung fibroblasts. Second, it is the incidence rate of arthritis and arthritis index of CIA. Third, it is the levels of IL-6, $TNF-{\alpha}$, $IFN-{\gamma}$, $IL-{\beta}$, IgG, IgM and anti-collagen II in serum and the level of IFN-y,$IFN-{\gamma}$/IL -4 ratio in CIA mouse spleen cell culture. Fourth, it is histological analysis of the mice joint. Fifth, it is expression ratio of $CD3e^+$ to $CD19^+$+ cell, $CD4^+$ to $CD8^+$ cell, $CD69^+/CD3e^+$/cells, $CD11a^+/CD19^+$/cells, $CD11b^+/Gr-1^+$ cells and $CD4^+/CD25^+$ cells. Results & Conclusion : 1. In the EC-HA, the incidence of arthritis and arthritis index were significantly decreased. 2. In EC-HA, the levels of IL-6, $IFN-{\gamma}$, $TNF-{\alpha}$, $IL-1{\beta}$, IgG, IgM and anti-collagen II in serum of CIA mice and the level of $IFN-{\gamma}$, IL-4, $IFN-{\gamma}$/lL-4 ratio in CIA mouse spleen cell culture were significantly decreased. 3. In the histological study, the cartilage destruction and synovial cell proliferation were decreased in the EC-HA, and the collagen fiber expressions in the EC-HA were similar with that of the Normal group. 4. In the EC-HA, the expression ratio of $CD3e^+$ to $CD19^+$ cell and $CD4^+$ to $CD8^+$ cell were similarly maintained as Normal group in lymph nodes, and $CD69^+/CD3e^+$ cells and $CD11a^+/CD19^+$ cells were decreased in lymph nodes, and $CD11b^+/Gr-1^+$ cells and $CD4^+/CD25^+$ cells were decreased in synovium. These results suggest that EC-HA at ST36 has an effect to control synovial cell proliferation and cartilage destruction in rheumatoid arthritis, and to be put to practical use in the future rheumatoid arthritis clinic.
