Wireless CATV is a type of CATV that offers its subscribers a mix of microwave channel by transmitting the programming over MMDS frequency. The benefit of wireless CATV can be made available in areas of scattered population and other areas where it is too expensive to build a traditional cable station. Also, due to the lower cast of building a wireless cable station, saving can be passed on to the subscribes. Therefore, in this paper 28[GHz] band bidirectional analog wireless system was proposed. When fully implemented, wireless CATV may have as many as 33 channels of broadcast. Further, if digital wireless CATV is used 150 to 300 channels may become available.

In this paper, HFC CATV networks are introduced. HFC CATV networks are currently considered as a most effective and plausible solution for subscriber access networks in the information superhighway, among others such as ADSL and B-WLL. The advantages of HFC CATV networks include its broad upstream and downstream channel bandwidths, much wider than PSTN's and its readiness. The HFC CATV networks are already well spread among the general subscribers in Korea. This fact will shorten the installation period and significantly reduce its cost. In addition, The structure and channel environment of the HFC CATV networks are introduced. At the same time, in this paper included are major problems in the HFC CATV networks and the solutions for these problems. Also discussed are data transmission, medium access control, IEEE802.14, and MCNS for standardizations. Moreover, additional telecommunications service activities in both Korea and other countries, using HFC CATV networks are also included. The topics which are covered in detail are the ones such as interoperation between HFC CATV networks and trunk line and the digital transmission performance test for the CATV networks. In the performance test, it is concluded that HFC CATV networks can satisfy the QoS for various additional services if the number of the subscribers in a cell is limited to less than 500 and other minor requirements are satisfied. Based on all these discussions and conclusions, HFC CATV networks are suggested in this paper for the subscriber access networks of the so called information superhighway.

The object of study is to compare the characteristics of IPTV (Internet protocol television) subscribers and digital CATV (Community antenna television) subscribers. We used the adjusted residuals. We did gang survey for 100 subscribers in Seoul, Kyeonggi or Incheon regions. Compared to digital CATV, IPTV seems to have appropriate contents for interactive services and high satisfaction level for cost, but high dissatisfaction level for channels. Digital CATV subscribers would know and subscribe passively, compared to IPTV subscribers. IPTV subscribers are more satisfied than digital CATV subscribers even though IPTV is higher cost. Main content of digital CATV is sports, which is not interactive contents. People think IPTV is an innovative service which let subscribers see wanted contents always, but digital CATV is an extension of CATV. So digital CATV cannot use advantages of interactive services. Even though two services are almost same, they are very different in recognition.

Using a framework of the relational exchanges in relationship marketing, this study analyzed success factors of domestic CATV home shopping market which has rapidly grown recently. In order to carry out this analysis, the current status of domestic CATV home shopping market and the operational strategies of relationship marketing by the concerning enterprises were examined. More specifically, the exchange partners that have exchange relationship with domestic CATV home shopping companies were classified into the end-users, manufacturing companies, logistics and parcel delivery companies, SO companies, and other related industries, and then the operational strategies of relationship marketing for each partner were analyzed.

일본의 CATV 사업자들은 1997년 영국에 이어 CATV망을 이용한 상업적인 전화서비스 제공에 착수하였다. CATV망을 이용한 통신서비스 제공은 현재 미국을 비롯한 각국에서 추진중에 있으나 실제로 상업적인 대규모서비스가 실시되고 있는 곳은 영국뿐이었다. 본 고에서는 일본 CATV 사업자의 통신시장 진출 전략 및 통신사업자의 대응전략에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다.

It is possible to construct the more improved communication network quality due to practical use of data network using the redundant frequency bandwidth of CATV network. And the multimedia remote educations under the CATV network environment are being tried in the secondary schools. In general, CATV network is able to support not only the remote education using multimedia contents but also real-time responses because the network of CATV has capability to have transmission speed from 256Kbps to l0Mbps. In this paper, we design a new model of the efficient remote education by analysis of the multimedia data transmission capability using CATV network and suggest a method which can be applied specifically.

통신 기술의 발전과 새로운 서비스에 대한 수요는 가입자망에 광케이블 도입을 요구하고 있다. 그런데 현재 광가입자 망에 즉시 이식할 수 있는 서비스로는 CATV가 있고, 따라서 광가입자망의 전단계로서 광 CATV가 가입자망에 대한 비용 분석이 필요하다. 본 고에서는 현재 국내에서 시범운용중인 CATV 망의 자료와 환경에 근거해서 동축 CATV망에 대비한 광망의 비용 상대성을 여러 Topology에 대해 살펴보고 광망이 비용우위를 갖게 되는 시점을 조망한다.

So in this paper we analysis the phase noise characteristics to obtain a most suitable of SNR performance request characteristic by BER on CATV transmission system that satisfy performance request DOCSIS 2.0 standard. Especially we get the parameter value of PLL that satisfy phase noise characteristic request standard using developed simulator. Presented method can be used to obtain a performance request standard connection performance request standard of high speed CATV transmission system in the future.
