I-PDA Controller Designed by CDM Incorporating FFC for Two-Inertia System

  • The two-inertia system, which has the torsion vibration, is typically found in several industrial applications. This torsion vibration will effect the quality of the rolled material as well as the stability of the drive system. Thus the speed and torsion vibration of the system have to be properly controlled. This paper, I-PDA controller designed by Coefficient Diagram Method to control a two-inertia system is proposed. The experimental result shows that both of transient and steady state specification can be fulfilled but the transient response still has long rise time. In order to improve the speed of the system response, a phase lag structure of feedforward controller is introduced to I-PDA control system. It is shown that the performance of the I-PDA control system with suitable FFC has shorter rise and settling times, no overshoot and the torsion vibration can be suppressed.

Replacement Algorithm Selection Mechanism Considering File Size for Web Cache Server

  • This paper describes the improvement of web cache server by scoping in replacement algorithm of data which are collected from the clients. We have found that each replacement algorithm is suitable for each type of data in the web pages. Therefore, we introduce the mechanism to select the replacement algorithm depending on the size of data called the Replacement Algorithm Selection Mechanism (RASM). RASM allows the web cache server to have the suitable replacement algorithm for each type of data. As the result, the byte hit ratio of web cache server can be increased and the congestion in the network can be alleviated.

  • We proposed "Table Mediator" which is a tabletop system for digital storytelling that uses web-retrieved information for the students' educational field trip. Students can perform their storytelling for their virtual pre-field trip to build up a sequential path as a story with web-retrieved documents, satellite images, geographical information, and group discussion. The proposed system was designed to lessen the limitation of individual interaction such as restricted viewpoint and biased inclination by group digital storytelling. Local interactions also have the limitation such as insufficient information and knowledge and the system supplied the rich live information such as subjective critiques or recently discovered history, or new updates for building a story that makes users arrange their own idea as a consistent story to lessen the limitation of the local interactions. The system can be used for various applications such as travel, education and other collaborative works with group interaction.

Multi-View Video Processing: IVR, Graphics Composition, and Viewer

  • Multi-view video has recently gained much attraction from academic and commercial fields because it can deliver the immersive viewing of natural scenes. This paper presents multi-view video processing being composed of intermediate view reconstruction (IVR), graphics composition, and multi-view video viewer. First we generate virtual views between multi-view cameras using depth and texture images of the input videos. Then we mix graphic objects to the generated view images. The multi-view video viewer is developed to examine the reconstructed images and composite images. As well, it can provide users with some special effects of multi-view video. We present experimental results that validate our proposed method and show that graphic objects could become the inalienable part of the multi-view video.

안드로이드 기반 모바일 학생증 (Android Based Mobile Student Identity Card)

  • 현재 플라스틱 학생증이 크게 활용되지 않아 소지하고 있어야 하는 불편함이 있다. 본 논문에서는 현대인의 필수품이 된 스마트폰과 대학생의 학생증을 접목시켜 학생들에게 편리함을 제공해줄 모바일학생증(MSIC) 어플리케이션을 개발하였다. 개발된 모바일학생증(MSIC)의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 데이터베이스를 이용하여 학생 신분을 확인하고, 각 학생들에게 모바일학생증을 발급해준다. 둘째, 여러 적합한 레이아웃에 따른 정보를 구현하여 학생들이 편리한 학교생활을 할 수 있도록 돕는다. 성능평가 환경은 안드로이드 기반의 개발키트를 사용하였고, 주요특징과 성능평가화면은 AVD(Android Virture Device)를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다.

Coalition Formation Game Based Relay Selection and Frequency Sharing for Cooperative Relay Assisted Wireless D2D Networks with QoS Constraints

  • With device-to-device (D2D) communications, an inactive user terminal can be utilized as a relay node to support multi-hop communication so that connective experience of the cell-edge user as well as the capacity of the whole system can be significantly improved. In this paper, we investigate the spectrum sharing for a cooperative relay assisted D2D communication underlying a cellular network. We formulate a joint relay selection and channel assignment problem to maximize the throughput of the system while guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) requirements of cellular users (CUs) and D2D users (DUs). By exploiting coalition formation game theory, we propose two algorithms to solve the problem. The first algorithm is designed based on merge and split rules while the second one is developed based on single user's movement. Both of them are proved to be stable and convergent. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Efficient Interference Control Technology for Vehicular Moving Networks

  • This paper proposes an efficient interference control scheme for vehicular moving networks. The features of the proposed scheme are as follows: radio resources are separated into two resource groups to avoid interference between the cellular and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) links; V2V links are able to share the same radio resources for an improvement in the resource efficiency; and vehicles can adaptively adjust their transmission power according to the interference among the V2V links (based on the distributed power control (DPC) scheme derived using the network utility maximization method). The DPC scheme, which is the main feature of the proposed scheme, can improve both the reliability and data rate of a V2V link. Simulation results show that the DPC scheme improves the average signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio of V2V links by more than 4 dB, and the sum data rate of the V2V links by 15% and 137% compared with conventional schemes.

  • Graphical user interface(GUI) has a very important role to interact with software users. However, designing and coding of GUI are tedious and pain taking processes. In many studies, the researchers are trying to convert GUI elements or widgets to code or describe formally their structures by help of domain knowledge of stochastic methods. In this paper, we propose the GUI elements detection approach based on object detection strategy using deep neural networks(DNN). Object detection with DNN is the approach that integrates localization and classification techniques. From the experimental result, if we selected the appropriate object detection model, the results can be used for automatic code generation from the sketch or capture images. The successful GUI elements detection can describe the objects as hierarchical structures of elements and transform their information to appropriate code by object description translator that will be studied at future.

  • 최근 IT기술의 발전으로 일상생활에 IT기술이 스며들고, 환경적 요소와 융합하는 아이디어와 기술들이 나날이 발전하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IT기술을 환경적 요소와 융합하여 활용하는 동시에 더욱 쾌적한 환경을 만들 수 있는 WiT(WiFi Trashcan)를 제안한다. WiT는 쓰레기통에 쓰레기를 넣으면 WiFi를 무료로 제공해주는 쓰레기통이다. WiFi와 Trash-can을 합성한 WiT(WiFi Trashcan)는 사람이 쓰레기를 넣었을 때, 투입여부 및 부피를 감지하여 쓰레기를 버린 사용자에게 WiFi를 무료로 제공해 주는 시스템이다. WiT는 아두이노와 라즈베리파리를 활용하여 설계 및 구현된다.

WAVE와 CAN 연동을 위한 OSEK OS기반 게이트웨이 (OSEK OS Based Gateway for Interconnecting WAVE and CAN)

  • 최근 차량간 통신 프로토콜 표준인 WAVE를 이용한 다양한 서비스가 이루어지고 있으며, 안정적인 시스템 운영을 위해서 기존의 차량 내부 네트워크와의 원활한 연계를 위한 게이트웨이가 필요하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 차량 외부 통신의 대표적인 프로토콜인 WAVE와 차량 내부 네트워크의 대표적인 프로토콜인 CAN을 연동하기 위한 게이트웨이를 제안한다. 제안하는 게이트웨이는 OSEK 운영체제 기반으로 설계되었으며, 통신 계층, 메시지 변환 계층, 메시지 관리 계층으로 구성된다. 통신 계층은 CAN을 통해 차량 정보를 수신하거나, WAVE 모듈로부터 주행안전정보 요청 메시지를 수신, 주행안전정보를 송신한다. 그리고 메시지 관리 계층에서는 수신 메시지 저장, 메시지의 유효성에 대한 오류검사 기능을 수행한다. 게이트웨이에 대한 성능분석을 위해 두 가지의 테스트 시나리오를 구성하였다. 첫 번째는 차량간 통신을 이용한 안전서비스에서의 메시지 구조를 정의한 BSM의 주기적인 전송이 이루어질 경우에서의 성능 테스트이다. 두 번째는 노변장치가 주행안전정보를 요청하는 경우에 게이트웨이가 차량내부정보를 응답하는 경우이다. 테스트 결과로써, 게이트웨이 자체 처리시간은 각각 0.32ms, 0.46ms으로 안정적으로 동작함을 확인하였다.
