Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture(HPP) for patients with asthma. Methods We treated three patients who have asthma with HPP. To check the effect of HPP we used CAMSOM-V. To check the satisfaction of HPP we used Five-point Likert scale. Results After treatment symptoms were improved. CAMSOM-V decreased in all cases. The Likert scale points were checked 5 and 4 and 4. Conclusions In this study, we have found the meaning of the research that HPP, in the future will be efficacious against asthma.

Objectives To report an improved case with Taeeumin Mahwangjeongcheon-tang on the patient with chronic bronchitis caused by an inhalation injury. Methods The patient had been suffered from cough, sputum, dyspnea, and chest discomfort for 15 years. He was diagnosed as Taeeumin Esophageal Cold Pattern and was given Mahwangjeongcheon-tang according to Sasang constitutional medical theory. The clinical asthma measurement scale in oriental medicine(CAMSOM-V), quality of life questionnaire for adult Korean asthmatics(QLQAKA), and Spirometry were performed to evaluate the improvement of his symptoms. Results The clinical asthma measurement scale in oriental medicine(CAMSOM-V) improved from 16 to 14 points and the quality of life questionnaire for adult Korean asthmatics(QLQAKA) improved from 55 to 67 points. In spirometry, forced vital capacity improved from 3.07 to 3.59, and forced expiratory volume in 1sec improved from 2.59 to 2.84 after 4 weeks. Conclusion This report suggests that Mahwangjeongcheon-tang is effective for chronic bronchitis.

Objectives The purpose of this clinical trial was evaluate the safety and efficacy of Mahwangjeongcheon-tang (MJT). Methods Twenty six volunteers were recruited as subjects. They were divided into two groups, which were MJT test group and placebo group. The investigated items related to the safety were the weight, the results of renal function and liver function. The investigated items related to the efficacy are the results of the spirometer, the clinical asthma measurement scale in oriental medicine-V (CAMSOM-V) and the quality of life questionnaire for adult Korean asthmatics (QLQAKA). Results There are no difference in the weight, the results of the renal functions and the liver functions between MJT test group and placebo group. There are the some differences in the result of the questionnaires related to the efficacy between MJT test group and placebo group. The significant difference were observed in the CAMSOM-V at the 4th visit. Conclusion MJT is the safe and effective herbal prescription that is useful to the asthma patients.
