Processing of Corbicula elatior Beverage (재첩을 이용한 음료 가공)

  • Marsh calm(Corbicular elatior)with a short-term storage in raw and a law-rate of utilization has been increasing the needs to develop new marsh calm processing products for a temporary mass treatment and long-term distribution, Therefore the processing conditions of marsh calm beverage using proteolytic enzyme hydrolysis were investigated. A partial hydrolysis at 6$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour after adding 3% Alcalase as more effective than a hot water extraction to develop taste compounds from the marsh calm. The result of ommission test showed that nucleotides and their related compounds were contributed in the taste of the marsh calm hydrolysates rather than free amino acids. The taste of the hydrolysates was produced by association with these compounds rather than only one compound s the hydrolystes taste differently for the control when one of these compound was omitted. The hydrolysates were fractionated to molecular weight below 500 dalton to eliminate bitter taste and to improve it flavor from the hydrolysates, 0.05% bay leaf was more effective to improve the odor than other herbs.

  • A safety assessment computer code CALM (Computer program of Assessment for LILW Management) is developed for the theoretical prediction of long-term safety of low-and intermediate-level radioactive waste disposal. CALM is composed of three submodels, which are the resaturation model, the geosphere migration model, and the radiation dose model. For the verification of its usefulness, the safety assessment of an assumed waste repository is performed. The results show that the computer code, CALM developed through this study can be a useful tool for the safety assessment of low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste repository.

  • This study aims to develop an fashion color design system based on personal color and sensorial images. This web-based system has a parallel structure which a user can search her own personal color, sensorial, and fashion images. The fashion image was presented according to the type of personal color image and sensorial image: futuristic fashion image from alluring image on all of personal color images; elegant fashion images from calm with pure/splendid images or faint/calm with alluring images; modern fashion image from pure/calm with alluring images or faint with lively images; plain fashion image from plain images with all personal color images but pure image; romantic fashion image from calm image with all personal color images but calm image. Fashion color and color combination palettes based on personal color images were presented with the each of those fashion images.

  • In this paper, we propose service discovery mechanism, using CALM agent platform to guarantee scalability of scope of available services without modifying existing service discovery protocols. The proposed service discovery mechanism provides users with a wider selection of services, and convenient search methods.

  • An analysis of emotional English utterances with 7 emotions (calm, happy, sad, angry, fearful, disgust, surprised) was conducted using the measurement of prosodic distance between 672 emotional and 48 neutral utterances. Applying the technique proposed in the automatic evaluation model of English pronunciation to the present study on emotional utterances, Euclidean distance measurement of 3 prosodic elements such as F0, intensity and duration extracted from emotional and neutral utterances was utilized. This paper, furthermore, extended the analytical methods to include Euclidean distance normalization, z-score and z-score normalization resulting in 4 groups of measurement schemes (sqrF0, sqrINT, sqrDUR; norsqrF0, norsqrINT, norsqrDUR; sqrzF0, sqrzINT, sqrzDUR; norsqrzF0, norsqrzINT, norsqrzDUR). All of the results from perceptual analysis and acoustical analysis of emotional utteances consistently indicated the greater effectiveness of norsqrF0, norsqrINT and norsqrDUR, among 4 groups of measurement schemes, which normalized the Euclidean measurement. The greatest acoustical change of prosodic information influenced by emotion was shown in the values of F0 followed by duration and intensity in descending order according to the effect size based on the estimation of distance between emotional utterances and neutral counterparts.   • The aim of this article is to argue that a valuable tool to calm impatience is to listen to Sijo. The author seeks to argue that the best way to calm impatience is to listen to Sijo. Sijo refers to a slow and mellow music in the family of Han Ak (Korean music, 韓樂). The term slow is a revered keyword in our culture. "Slow" is a blank word in Han Ak (Korean music, 韓樂). The soul of Wol-ha Kim's Sijo is a beauty of space and easiness. Therefore, her voice will help relax the muscles of the listener and calm the soul. It is akin to the struggles of modern people competing for something excessively but ending up with nothing. We often find that gentle jogging is better than sprinting. Slow music is thus good for one's health. For example, we know that our skin can become beautiful and that real beauty can be obtained only when the body and mind are at rest and in comfort. Physical appearance depends on a healthy mind and body. The author believes that Sijo for music therapy is good for our mental health. If its effectiveness is confirmed after performing tests on animals and humans in an experimental study, we can use this type of music to treat patients with psychological illnesses.

  • This paper employs computational tools to investigate the cause of resistance reductions in calm water and waves of the sharp bow form compared to the blunt bow in 66,000 DWT bulk carriers. A more slender shape at the fore-shoulder without a bulbous bow is a prominent feature of the sharp bow. The blunt bow incorporates a bulbous shape. A two-phase unsteady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations have been solved; and a realizable k-ε model has been applied for the turbulent closure. The free-surface is obtained by solving a VOF equation. The computational results have been validated with model tests carried out at a towing tank. The pressure component of resistance in the sharp bow is reduced by 8.9% in calm water, and 6.4-12.7% in regular head waves. The frictional components of resistance in the sharp and blunt bows are largely the same.

  • In this paper, the Finite-Analytic Navier-Stokes (FANS) code is coupled with an in-house finite-element code to study the dynamic interaction between a floating buoy and its mooring system. Hydrodynamic loads on the buoy are predicted with the FANS module, in which Large Eddy Simulation (LES) is used as the turbulence model. The mooring lines are modeled based on a slender body theory. Their dynamic responses are simulated with a nonlinear finite element module, MOORING3D. The two modules are coupled by transferring the forces and displacements of the buoy and its mooring system at their connections through an interface module. A free-decay model test was used to calibrate the coupled method. In addition, to investigate the capability of the present coupled method, numerical simulations of two degree-of-freedom vortex-induced motion of a CALM buoy in uniform currents were performed. With the study it can be verified that accurate predictions of the motion responses and tension responses of the CALM buoy system can be made with the coupling CFD-FEM method.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 지능형 센싱 시스템은 자연현상 또는 사물의 물리적인 변화량을 센서를 통하여 센싱하고 그 값을 이용하여 정의된 결과 값을 추종하도록 액추에이터를 제어하는 시스템 설계에 관한 것이다. 1995년 마크 와이저와 존 실리 브라운은 Calm-Tech를 소개하였는데, 그 동안 Calm-Tech를 구현하려는 많은 시도가 있었고, 본 논문에서는 Calm-Tech를 반영하여 다중이용시설의 대기환경을 개선을 위해 센싱 기능과 결합된 지능형 액추에이터 제어 시스템을 설계하였다.

Studies of High-Ozone Episodes in the Greater Seoul Area between 1990 and 1997 (1990~1997 기간 중 서울.수도권 지역의 고농도 오존 사례 연구)

  • To investigate the characteristics of high-ozone occurrences in the Greater Seoul Area(GSA), three high-ozone episodes were selected, for which the ozone warning for concentration above 120 ppb might be issued. The selection was on the basis of morning wind directions and speeds, and daily maximum ozone concentrations measured between 1990 and 1997. The episodes chosen to meet selection criteria were seven days in July 1992, nine days in July 1994, and three days in August 1994, as respectively characterized by southwesterly, easterly, and calm winds in the morning. However, more than 80% of high-ozone days in the GSA were associated with calm winds and the concomitant accumulation of local emission in the morning, rather than being due to transport of ozone or its precursors. This is believed to be the primary reason why ozone concentrations in the GSA varied in a completely different manner even between adjacent monitoring stations. Several premises for initiating research studies for resolving these local variations of ozone concentrations in the GSA are also discussed.
