The electrical stability for DC stress of Pr$_{6}$O$_{11}$-based ZnO varistos consisting of ZnO-Pr$_{6}$O$_{11}$-CoO-Cr$_2$O$_3$-Er$_2$O$_3$-based ceramics were investigated with sintering temperature in the range of 1325~1345$^{\circ}C$. A the sintering temperature is raised, the nonlinear exponent of varistors was decreased, whereas the stability was markedly improved. The density of ceramics was found to greatly affect the electrical stability for DC stress. The varistors sintered at 13$25^{\circ}C$ were completely degraded because of thermal runaway attributing to low density. The varistors sintered at 1335$^{\circ}C$ exhibited the highest nonlinearity, with a nonlinear exponent of 70.53 and a leakage current of 1.92$\mu$A, whereas they did not exhibit relatively high stability. On the contrary, the varistors sintered at >134$0^{\circ}C$ exhibited not only a high nonlinearity marking the nonlinear exponent above 50 and the leakage current below 3$\mu$A, but also a high stability marking the variation rate of the varistor voltage below 2%, even under DC stress such as (0.80V$_{1mA}$/9$0^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.85V$_{1mA}$/115$^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.90V$_{1mA}$/12$0^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.95V$_{1mA}$/1$25^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.95V$_{1mA}$/15$0^{\circ}C$/12h). In particular, ti was found that the varistors sintered at 134$0^{\circ}C$ were more nonlinear and more stable, compared with that of 1345$^{\circ}C$.EX>.}C$.EX>.
We have reported that water-extracted Korean mistletoe (KM-110) had various biological activities such as antitumor and immunomodulatory activity, and the pectin fraction (KML-C) of the extract was one of major factors related to its biological functions. In this paper, we produced murine monoclonal antibody (mAb) against KML-C. The cAbs obtained were largely classified into two groups according to specificity to KML-C and ML-I, a pectin from European mistletoe. One group mAbs (9H7-D10 and 3C2-lH4) strongly reacted with KML-C, but not ML-I. In contrast, another group cAbs (8Bll-2C5, BE12-3E9 and 5E10-Fl) reacted with both KML-C and ML-1. The subisotypes of these mobs were shown to be IgGl (9H7-lD10, 3C2-lH4 and 8Bll-2C5) or IgM (8E12-3E9 and 5E10-Fl). To develop an assay system for determination of the amount of KML-C, we established the sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) method using these mAbs and horse radish peroxidase (HRP)-labelled cAbs. In various combinations of the cAbs for coated antibody and detection antibody, the sandwich ELISA quantitatively detected KML-C, showing the detection limit ranging from 7-5,000 ng/ml. Especially reproducibility (C.V) of the sandwich ELISA, in which 8E12-3E9 was used for coating antibody and 8Bll-2C5-HRP for detection antibody, was 4.59-5.83 in intra assay, and 3.9-9.4 in inter assay.
The human ribosomal protein 54 genes, RPS4X and RPS4Y are located on the X and Y chromosomes. They have been postulated as candidate for Turner syndrome which was characterized by gonadal dysgenesis, short stature, and various external and internal anomalies. Using the BLAST search program, we identified sixteen RPS4 pseudogenes from the human genome and analyzed them phylogenetically. The RPS4-C12-1, C12-2, and C12-3 pseudogenes from chromosome 12 have been evolved independently during hominid evolution. The RPS4X gene from X chromosome it closely related to the RPS4-C12-2 from chromosome 12 and RPS4-C5 from chromosome 5, whereas the RPS4Y gene is very closely related to RPS4-C16 from chromosome 16. The exact mapping of the RPS4 pseudogene family was peformed, indicating that the RPS4 pseudogene family was mapped on human chromosomes 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19 and 20. Taken together, the precise chromosomal localization and phylegenetic relationship of the RPS4 pseudo-genes could be of great use in further study for understanding the Turner syndrome.
The composites were fabricated, respectively, using 61vol.% SiC-39vol.% $TiB_2$ and using 61vol.% SiC-39vol.% $ZrB_2$ powders with the liquid forming additives of 12wt% $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ by hot pressing annealing at $1650^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours. Reactions between SiC and transition metal $TiB_2$, $ZrB_2$ were not observed in this microstructure. The result of phase analysis of composites by XRD revealed SiC(6H, 3C), $TiB_2$, $ZrB_2$ and $YAG(Al_5Y_3O_{12})$ crystal phase on the SiC-$TiB_2$, and SiC-$ZrB_2$ composites. The ${\beta}\;{\alpha}$-SiC phase transformation was occurred on the $SiC-TiB_2$, $SiC-ZrB_2$ composites. The relative density, the flexural strength and Young's modulus showed respectively value of 98.57%, 226.06Mpa and $86.37{\times}10^3Mpa$ in SiC-$ZrB_2$ composites.

[Purpose] Recent studies have shown that glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI)-which is a glycolysis interconversion enzyme-reduces oxidative stress. However, these studies are limited to tumors such as fibrosarcoma, and there are no studies that have examined the effects of exercise on GPI expression in mice skeletal muscle. Furthermore, GPI acts in an autocrine manner thorough its receptor, autocrine motility factor receptor (AMFR); therefore, we investigated expression level changes of secreted GPI from skeletal muscle in in vitro study to examine the potential role of GPI on skeletal muscle. [Methods] First, we performed an in vitro study, to identify the condition that upregulates GPI levels in skeletal muscle cells; we treated C2C12 muscle cells with an exercise-mimicking chemical, AICAR. AICAR treatment upregulated GPI expression level in C2C12 cell and its secretomes. To confirm the direct effect of GPI on skeletal muscle cells, we treated C2C12 cells with GPI recombinant protein. [Results] We found that GPI improved the viability of C2C12 cells. In the in vivo study, the exercise-treated mice group showed upregulated GPI expression in skeletal muscle. Based on the in vitro study results, we speculated that expression level of GPI in skeletal muscle might be associated with muscle function. We analyzed the association between GPI expression level and the grip strength of the all mice group. The mice group's grip strengths were upregulated after 2 weeks of treadmill exercise, and GPI expression level positively correlated with the grip strength. [Conclusion] These results suggested that the exercise-induced GPI expression in skeletal muscle might have a positive effect on skeletal muscle function.
Objectives : This study is to effect of improving muscle atrophy through water extract on the solid-phase fermentation extraction with Phellinus linteus of discarded Schisandra chinensis in an atorvastatin-induced atrophy C2C12 cell. Methods : C2C12 myoblast were differentiated into myotube by 2% horse serum medium for 6 days, and then treated solid-phase fermentation(S-P) extract at different concentrations for 24h. To investigate the effect of S-P extract on the induction of muscle atrophy and expression of atrophy-related genes and apoptosis in differentiated C2C12 myotubes using a GSH, ROS, real-time PCR, western blots analysis. Results : As a result of treatment with atorvastatin at concentrations of 5, 10, and 20 uM on the 6th day of differentiation in C2C12 myotube cells, it was confirmed that the cell morphology was damaged in a concentration-dependent manner, and the length and thickness of the myotube also decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. Treatment with S-P extract (50, 100 and 200 ㎍/㎖) increased of GSH and inhibited ROS in the atorvastatin-induced muscle atrophy cell model at a concentration that did not induce toxicity. In addition, it was confirmed that it has an effect on muscle reduction by inhibiting apoptosis of muscle cells as well as being involved in protein production and degradation of muscle cells. Conclusions : Atorvastatin-induced atrophy C2C12 cell, S-P extract activates related to differentiation/generation and proteolysis, and inhibits cell death of atrophy in C2C12 cell. Based on this, it is necessary to prove its effectiveness through animal models and human application test, but it is considered to be discarded Schisandra chinensis can present the potential for development as a recycling industrial material.
The stability of $Pr_6$$O_{11}$-based ZnO varistors doped with $Y_2$$O_3$ was investigated under various d.c. stresses. The varistors were sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 1h in the addition range of 0.0 to 4.0 mol% $Y_2$$O_3$. The varistors doped with $Y_2$$O_3$ exhibited much higher nonlinearity than that without $Y_2$$O_3$. In Particular, the varistors containing 0.5 mol% $Y_2$$O_3$ showed very excellent V-I characteristics, which the nonlinear exponent was 51.19 and the leakage current was 1.32 $\mu\textrm{A}$. And these varistors also showed an excellent stability, which the variation rate of the varistor voltage and the nonlinear exponent were -0.80% and -2.17%, respectively, under 4th d.c. stress, such as (0.80 $V_ {1mA}$/$90^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.85 $V_{1mA}$/$115^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.90 $V_{1mA}$/$120^{\circ}C$/12h)+(0.95 $V_{1mA}$/$125^{\circ}C$/12h). Consequently, since $Pr_ 6$$O_{11}$-based ZnO varistors doped with 0.5 mol% $Y_2$$O_3$ have an excellent stability as well as good nonlinearity, it is expected to be usefully used to develop the superior varistors in future.
