MINIMAXNESS AND COFINITENESS PROPERTIES OF GENERALIZED LOCAL COHOMOLOGY WITH RESPECT TO A PAIR OF IDEALS

  • Let I and J be two ideals of a commutative Noetherian ring R and M, N be two non-zero finitely generated R-modules. Let t be a non-negative integer such that $H^i_{I,J}(N)$ is (I, J)-minimax for all i < t. It is shown that the generalized local cohomology module $H^i_{I,J}(M,N)$ is (I, J)-Cofinite minimax for all i < t. Also, we prove that the R-module $Ext^j_R(R/I,H^i_{I,J}(N))$ is finitely generated for all $i{\leq}t$ and j = 0, 1.

Ni/Si/Ni Ohmic contacts to n-type 4H-SiC (Ni/Si/Ni n형 4H-SiC의 오옴성 접합)

  • In this letter, we report on the investigation of Ni/Si/Ni Ohmic contacts to n-type 4H-SiC. Ohmic contacts have been formed by a vacuum annealing and N$_2$ gas ambient annealing method at 950$^{\circ}C$ for 10 min. The specific contact resistivity($\rho$$\sub$c/), sheet resistance(R$\sub$S/), contact resistance(R$\sub$S/), transfer length(LT) were calculated from resistance(R$\sub$T/) versus contact spacing(d) measurements obtained from 10 TLM(transmission line method) structures. The resulting average values of vacuum annealing sample were $\rho$$\sub$c/=3.8x10$\^$-5/ Ω$\textrm{cm}^2$ , R$\sub$c/=4.9Ω, R$\sub$T/=9.8Ω and L$\sub$T/=15.5$\mu\textrm{m}$, resulting average values of another sample were $\rho$$\sub$c/=2.29x10$\^$-4/ Ω$\textrm{cm}^2$ , R$\sub$c/=12.9Ω, R$\sub$T/=25.8Ω. The Physical properties of contacts were examined using X-Ray Diffraction and Auger analysis, there was a uniform intermixing of the Si and Ni, migration of Ni into the SiC.

Effect of $N_2$-backflushing Time in Carbon Ceramic UF & MF System for Paper Wastewater Treatment

  • The wastewater discharged from a paper plant was filtrated by 3 kinds of tubular carbon ceramic UF and MF membranes with $N_2$-backflushing. The filtration time (FT) was fixed at 8 min or 16 min, and $N_2$-backflushing time (BT) was changed in 0${\~}$60 sec. The optimal condition was discussed in the viewpoints of total permeate volume ($V_T$), dimensionless permeate flux (J/Jo) and resistance of membrane fouling ($R_f$). In the viewpoints of $V_T$, J/Jo and $R_f$, the optimal $N_2$-BT was 40 sec at both FT for M9 (MWCO: 300,000 Daltons) and C005 ($0.05{\mu}m$) membranes. However, for C010 ($0.1{\mu}m$) it was 10 sec at FT=8 min, and 20 sec at FT=16 min in the viewpoints of J/Jo and $R_f$, and 5 sec at both FT in the viewpoints of $V_T$. It means that the short $N_2$-BT could reduce the membrane fouling and recover the permeate flux sufficiently for MF membrane having a large pore size as C010. Average rejection rates of pollutants were higher than $99.0\%$ for turbidity and $22.8{\~}59.6\%$ for $COD_{cr}$, but rejection rates of total dissolved solid (TDS) were lower than $8.9\%$. Therefore, the low turbidity water purified in our system could be reused for paper process.

Bioequivalence Study of Toriem® Tablet to Motilium-M® Tablet (Domperidone Maleate 12.72 mg) Evaluated by Liquid Chromatography/Tandem Mass Spectrometry

  • The aim of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two domperidone maleate tablets, Motilium-$M^{(R)}$ Tablet (Janssen Korea Ltd., reference product) and $Toriem^{(R)}$ Tablet (Daewon Pharm. Co., Ltd., test product). Domperidone was extracted by liquid-liquid extraction using tert-butyl methyl ether and separated in less than 3 min on $C_{18}$ reverse-phase column using an isocratic elution. A tandem mass spectrometer, as detector, was used for quantitative analysis in positive mode by a multiple reaction monitoring mode to monitor the m/z $426.1{\rightarrow}119.1$ and the m/z $837.4{\rightarrow}158.2$ transitions for domperidone and the internal standard (roxithromycin), respectively. Calibration curves, from $0.05{\sim}50$ ng/mL of domperidone, showed correlation coefficients (r) higher than 0.9941. Intra day and inter day precision (C.V. %) for quality control were ranged from 10.04 to 16.09% and from 10.87 to 18.69%, respectively. The lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) of domperidone was 0.05 ng/mL. The method described is precise and sensitive and has been successfully applied to the study of bioequivalence of domperidone in 24 healthy Korean volunteers. Twenty-four healthy male Korean volunteers received a single dose of each medicine ($2{\times}12.72\;mg$ domperidone maleate) in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a one-week washout period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of domperidone were monitored for over a period of 24 hr after the administration. $AUC_{0-t}$ (the area under the plasma concentration-time curve) was calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule. $C_{max}$ (maximum plasma drug concentration) and $T_{max}$ (time to reach $C_{max}$) were compiled from the plasma concentration-time data. The 90% confidence intervals for the log transformed data were within acceptable range of log 0.8 to log 1.25 (e.g., $log\;0.92{\sim}log\;1.05$ for $AUC_{0-t}$, $log\;0.81{\sim}log\;1.05$ for $C_{max}$). The major parameters, $AUC_{0-t}$ and $C_{max}$ met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence indicating that $Toriem^{(R)}$ tablet is bioequivalent to Motilium-$M^{(R)}$ tablet.

  • In this paper, we prove that a diffeomorphism f on a normal almost contact 3-manifold M is a CRL-transformation if and only if M is an α-Sasakian manifold. Moreover, we show that a CR-loxodrome in an α-Sasakian 3-manifold is a pseudo-Hermitian magnetic curve with a strength $q={\tilde{r}}{\eta}({\gamma}^{\prime})=(r+{\alpha}-t){\eta}({\gamma}^{\prime})$ for constant 𝜂(𝛄'). A non-geodesic CR-loxodrome is a non-Legendre slant helix. Next, we prove that let M be an α-Sasakian 3-manifold such that (∇YS)X = 0 for vector fields Y to be orthogonal to ξ, then the Ricci tensor 𝜌 satisfies 𝜌 = 2α2g. Moreover, using the CRL-transformation $\tilde{\nabla}^t$ we fine the pseudo-Hermitian curvature $\tilde{R}$, the pseudo-Ricci tensor $\tilde{\rho}$ and the torsion tensor field $\tilde{T}^t(\tilde{S}X,Y)$.

Halobacillus blutaparonensis sp. nov., a Moderately Halophilic Bacterium Isolated from Blutaparon portulacoides Roots in Brazil

  • A moderately halophilic, Gram-positive, spore-forming bacterium was isolated from the roots of Blutaparon portulacoides, a plant found in sandy soil parallel to the beach line in Restinga de Jurubatiba, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The strain, designated $M9^T$, was motile and strictly aerobic with rod-shaped cells. It grew in the absence of NaCl and up to 20% NaCl, and was able to hydrolyze casein and starch. Strain $M9^T$ had a cell-wall peptidoglycan based on L-Orn-D-Asp, the predominant menaquinone present was menaquinone-7 (MK-7), diaminopimelic acid was not found, and anteiso-$C_{15:0}$ and iso-$C_{15:0}$ were the major fatty acids. A phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain $M9^T$ belonged to the genus Halobacillus and exhibited 16S rRNA gene similarity levels of 97.8-99.4% with the type strains of the other nine Halobacillus species. The DNA-DNA relatedness of strain $M9^T$ with H. trueperi, the closest relative as regards 16S rRNA gene similarity, and H. locisalis was 21% and 18%, respectively. Therefore, on the basis of phenotypic, genotypic, and phylogenetic data, strain $M9^T$ (=ATCC BAA-$1217^T$, =CIP $108771^T$, =KCTC $3980^T$) should be placed in the genus Halobacillus as a member of a novel species, for which the name Halobacillus blutaparonensis sp. nov. is proposed.

  • Various chain sizes 3-arm star polystyrenes (PS, $M_{w}$=2.80$\times$10$^{5}$ , 2.49$\times$10$^{6}$ g/mol) in t-decalin solution were measured at the temperature range of 20~7$0^{\circ}C$ by means of viscometry and laser light scattering. In order to show universality in the expansion factor of 3-arm star polymer, it was expected that (N/ $R_{G,Br,o}$$^{2}$)$^{3}$2/$\tau$/$\tau$$_{C}$ would be used as an universal parameter, where $R_{G,Br,o}$ was the unperturbed radius of gyration of star PS. However, much better universality had been observed when (N/ $R_{G,Br,o}$$^{2}$)$^{3}$2/$\tau$/$\tau$$_{C}$ parameter of the linear PS was used even for the 3-arm star PS. It could be explained if branching effect had been already taken into account in the part of $\tau$/$\tau$$_{C}$(=[(Τ-Θ$_{Tc}$ )/Θ$_{Tc}$ ]/[(Θ$_{Tc}$$_{c}$)/ $T_{c}$]). Here N and Θ$_{Tc}$ stand for the number of monomer unit in a single polymer chain and a kind of theta temperature as the critical solution temperature $T_{c}$ of the infinite molecular weight, respectively.ely.y.ely.

Application of Monkman-Grant Relationships to Type 316L(N) Stainless Steel (316L(N)스테인리스강의 Monkman-Grant 크리프 수명식의 적용성)

  • Creep tests for type 316L(N) stainless steel were carried out using constant-load creep machines at 55$0^{\circ}C$, 575$^{\circ}C$ and $600^{\circ}C$. Material constants necessary to predict creep rupture time were obtained from the experimental creep data. And the applicability of Monkman-Grant(M-G) and modified M-G relationships was discussed. The log-log plot of M-G relationship between the rupture time($t_r$,) and the minimum creep rate ($ $\varepsilon$ _m$) was dependent on test temperatures. The slope of m was 1,05 at 55$0^{\circ}C$ and m was 1.30 at $600^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, the log-log plot of modified M-G relationship between $t_r/$\varepsilon$_r$, and $ $\varepsilon$ _m$ was independent on stresses and temperatures. That is, the slope of m' was approximately 1.35 in all the data. Thus, modified M-G relationship for creep life prediction could be utilized more reasonably than that of M-G relationship for type 316L(N) stainless steel. It was analyzed that the constant slopes regardless of temperatures or applied stresses in the modified relationship were due to an intergranular fracture grown by wedge-type cavities.

Efficacy of Tomato Powder as Antioxidant in Cooked Pork Patties

  • This study was carried out to determine the effects of tomato powder (TP) on cooked pork patties during storage at $10{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ in the dark. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents of TP extract were 26.22 mg gallic acid/100 g and 3.52 mg quercetin/100 g, respectively. The extract of TP showed a potential antioxidant activity in the DPPH radical-scavenging assay ($EC_{50}=16.76{\mu}g/mL$). Pork patties were manufactured with 0.25% (T1), 0.5% (T2), 0.75% (T3) and 1.0% (T4) TP in a basic formula (C). The pH and volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) values of T2, T3 and T4 patties were lower (p<0.05) than the C patties during storage. Increased concentration of TP in meat patties decreased (p<0.05) the 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and total plate count (TPC) values at d 7 of storage. Tomato treated-patties had lower (p<0.05) values for lightness ($L^*$), but higher (p<0.05) values for redness ($a^*$) and yellowness ($b^*$) at d 3 and 7 of storage compared with the C. In the case of sensory evaluation, the scores of colour, flavour and overall acceptability of T3 and T4 patties were higher (p<0.05) than those of the C patty after 3 or 7 days of storage.
