Nanotube Morphology Change of Ti-Ta-Zr Alloy as Zr Content

  • Nanotube morphology change of Ti-Ta-Zr alloy as Zr content increase has been researched using various experimental methods. Ti-Ta-Zr(3, 7 and 15 wt%) alloys were prepared by arc melting and nano-structure controlled for 24 hr at $1000^{\circ}C$ in argon atmosphere. Formation of oxide nanotubes are conducted by anodizing a Ti-Ta-Zr alloy in $H_3PO_4$ electrolytes with small amounts of fluoride ions at room temperature. Electrochemical experiments were carried out with conventional three-electrode configuration with a platinum counter electrode and a saturated calomel reference electrode. The samples were embedded with epoxy resin, leaving a square surface area of $10mm^2$ exposed to the anodizing electrolyte, 1.0M $H_3PO_4$ containing 0.8wt% NaF.

Characterization of Tribolayers and Sliding wear at High Temperature between AlCrN Coated Tool Steels and Ultra-high Strength Boron Steels

  • High temperature wear of AlCrN coated tool steels sliding against the ultra-high strength boron steels used for hot press forming has been studied. The sliding wear tests have been carried out using a pin-on-disc of configuration under applied normal load of 50 N for 20 min with heating the ultra-high strength boron steels up to $800^{\circ}C$. Characterizations of tribolayers formed on the contacting surfaces between the tribopairs of the AlCrN coated tool steels and the ultra-high strength boron steels have been studied. It was found on the tribolayers of the AlCrN coated tool steels that microcracking and oxides containing Fe and Cr to increase friction coefficient were formed at the early stage of sliding wear, followed by the generation of the smeared oxide layers containing Fe transferred from the tribopair to decrease friction coefficient. This may mainly contribute to very low specific wear rate of the AlCrN coated tool steels sliding against the ultra-high strength boron steels, resulting from oxideoxide contact between the tribopair.

A Mobile Object Tracking Scheme by Wired/wireless Integrated Street Lights with RFID

  • Since a sophisticated location determination technology (LDT) is necessary for accurate positioning in urban area environments, numerous studies related to the LDT using the RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology have been implemented for real-time positioning and data transferring. However, there are still lots of unsolved questions especially regarding what to use as base stations and what are corresponding results under the intrinsic complexity of alignment and configuration of components used for the RFID positioning. This study proposes the street light fixtures as base stations where the RFID receivers will be embedded for the mobile tracking scheme. As street light fixtures are usually installed at a certain distance interval, they can be used as base stations for the RFID receiver installation. Using the principle of the single row triangle network, the RFID receiver organization is determined based on the experiments such as recognition distance measurement and tag position accuracy estimation at inside and outside of the single row triangle network. The results verify that the mobile tracking scheme which uses RFID-embedded street light fixtures, suggested and configured in this study, is effective for the real-time outdoor positioning.

중합환경에 따른 복합레진의 물리적 성질에 관한 연구 (The effect of cavity configuration on the mechanical properties of resin composites)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 와동의 형태가 굴곡강도와 탄성계수 등 복합레진의 물리적 성질에 미치는 영향을 평가하는 것이다. 복합레진은 Clearfil$^{TM}$ AP-X(Kuraray, Japan)와 Esthet-X$^{TM}$(Dentsply, USA)가 이용되었으며, 상아질 접착제는 Clearfil$^{TM}$ SE Bond(Kuraray, Japan)와 Prime & Bond NT$^{TM}$(Dentsply, USA)를 사용하였다. 대조군의 시편은 split steel mold(25mm$\times$2mm$\times$2mm) 내에 상기 2종류의 복합레진을 충전하여 2개의 대조군 시편을 제작하였으며, 2.4 및 3.4의 C-factor를 부여하기 위한 유리 모형와동을 제작하고, 와동 내에 상기 2종류의 복합레진을 충전하기 전 유리와동의 내면은 sandblasting 처리하고 각각의 복합레진과 동일회사 제품의 상기 상아질 접착제로 처리한 후, 복합 레진을 각각 충전하여 4개의 실험군을 제작하였다. 제작된 실험군 시편은 저속 diamond saw로 충전된 복합레진 부위의 중심부를 통과하도록 절단하여 레진기둥(25mm$\times$2mm$\times$2mm)이 되도록 제작하였다. 제작된 시편을 37$^{\circ}C$의 증류수에 24시간 동안 보관 후, 만능시험기(EZ Test, Shimadzu, Japan)를 이용하여 분당 1mm의 crosshead speed로 3점 굴곡강도를 측정하였다. 또 Linometer(R&B, Korea)를 이용하여 복합레진의 중합수축량을 측정하였으며 굴곡강도측정 후 시편의 파단면은 주사전자현미경(S-2300, Hitachi, Japan)을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 실험결과의 통계분석은 95% 수준의 one-way ANOVA/Tukey's test를 이용하여 결과를 얻었다. 실험에 이용된 2종류 복합레진의 굴곡강도와 탄성계수는 C-factor치 증가에 따라 감소하였으며, 파단면 또한 C-factor의 증가에 따라 더 불규칙해지는 양상을 나타내었다. 본 실험의 결과 hybrid형 복합레진이 micro-hybrid형 복합레진에 비해 C-factor의 영향을 더 많이 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 와동의 C-factor증가가 굴곡강도나 탄성계수와 같은 복합레진의 물리적 성질을 저하시킨다는 것을 의미하였다.

Common Land Model의 국내 적용성 평가를 위한 유량 및 지면온도 모의 (Application of Common Land Model in the Nakdong River Basin, Korea for Simulation of Runoff and Land Surface Temperature)

  • A grid-based configuration of Land Surface Models (LSMs) coupled with a climate model can be advantageous in impact assessment of climate change for a large scale area. We assessed the applicability of Common Land Model (CoLM) to runoff and land surface temperature (LST) simulations at the domain that encompasses the Nakdong river basin. To establish a high resolution model configuration of a $1km{\times}1km$ grid size, both surface boundary condition and atmospheric inputs from the observed weather data in 2009 were adjusted to the same resolution. The Leaf Area Index (LAI) was collected from MODerate esolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and the downward short wave flux was produced by a nonstationary multi-site weather state model. Compared with the observed runoffs at the stations on Nakdong river, simulated runoffs properly responded to rainfall. The spatial features and the seasonal variations of the domain fairly well were captured in the simulated LSTs as well. The monthly and seasonal trend of LST were described well compared to the observations, however, the monthly averaged simulated LST exceeded the observed up to $2^{\circ}C$ at the 24 stations. From the results of our study, it is shown that high resolution LSMs can be used to evaluate not only quantity but also quality of water resources as it can capture the geographical features of the area of interest and its rainfall-runoff response.

한우 난포란의 채란방법에 따른 체외수정란의 생산효율 (Comparison of In Vitro Embryo Production with Follicular Oocytes Collected by Aspiration and Slicing in Korean Native Cows)

  • To improve the efficiency of in vitro production of embryos with follicular oocytes in Korean Native cows, the recovery rates, in vitro maturation, fertilization and development, and the time required for collecting and processing oocytes by aspiration with or without slicing were evaluated comparatively. The ovaries were obtained from a local abattoir and placed in physiological saline at 25~28$^{\circ}C$ and brought to the laboratory within 3 hrs. The oocytes were collected by aspiration of follicles(2~6mm) with or without slicing ovaries after aspiration, and classified into Grade I, Grade II, Denuded, Expanded oocytes by the morphology of cumulus cells attached and the homogeneity of cytoplasmic granules. Also the time required for each step of collecting and processing oocytes were measured. The cumulus cells were removed in some Grade I oocytes to measure their size and nuclear configuration before and after in vitro maturation. The Grade I oocytes were matured in vitro(IVM) for 24 hrs. in TGM-199 supplemented with 35$\mu$g /ml FSH, 10$\mu$g /ml LH, 1 $\mu$g /ml at 39$^{\circ}C$ under 5% C02 in air. They were fertilized in vitro(IVF) by epididymal spermatozoa treated with heparin for 24hrs. and then the zygotes were cocultured in vitro (IVC) with bovine oviductal epithelial cells for 10 days. The results obtained were as follows: The number of oocytes recovered per ovary was averaged 6.6 by aspiration and 11.2 by slicing post aspiration, which summed to 17.8. The number of Grade I oocytes recovered per ovary was averaged 3.1 by aspiration and 3.6 by slicing, which summed to 6.7. The percentage of Grade I to total oocytes recovered was significantly(P<0.05) higher as 48.0 % in aspiration than 31.6% in slicing post aspiration. The time requlred for recovering a Grade I oocyte by aspiration and slicing was 1.1 and 2.5 min, respectively. The mean diameter of Grade I oocytes by aspiration and slicing was similar as 148.7 and 151.5$\mu$m, respectively.   • Tris(ethylenediamine)nickel(II)Dichromate [Ni(C2N2H8)3]·Cr2O7착화합물 및 결정의 구조를 X-선 회절법으로 연구하였다. 이 결정은 단사정계이고, 공간군은 P21/b(군번호=14)이다. 단위세포길이는 a=8.268(2), b=13.865(2), c=14.921(2)Å, γ=102.04(2)°, V=1672.9(5)Å3, Z=4, Dc=1.806 gcm-3, μ=24.05 cm-0.1이다. 회절반점들의 세기는 흑연 단색화 장치가 있는 자동4축 회절기로 얻었으며 Mo-Kα X-선(λ=0.7107Å)을 사용하였다. 구조분석은 중원자법으로 풀었으며, 최소자승법으로 정밀화 하였을 때, 최종 신뢰도 값들은 2248개의 회절반점에 대하여 R=0.045, Rw=0.051, Rall=0.059 및 S=2.171이었다. 니켈 착이온 가운데 하나의 에칠렌디아민 고리중에서 두 개의 탄소원자가 무질서하게 상호교차하는 네 개의 원자로 나타났다. 무질서한 에칠렌디아민의 두가지 고리구조들의 α- 과 β- 각들이나 수소결합들을 고려하였을 때 Ni-착이온의 입체구조는 Λδδδ-와 Λδδλ- 구조들의 무질서배열로 보아진다.

일반적 수정과 세포질내 정자주입법에 의해 수정에 실패한 인간난자의 미세소관과 염색체의 형태이상 (Aberrant Microtubule Assembly and Chromatin Configuration of Homan Oocytes Which Failed to Complete Fertilization Following In Vitro Fertilization and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

  • 본 연구는 생식보조기법을 시행한 불임환자로부터 얻은 난자를 일반적인 수정법과 세포질내 정자직접주입법으로 수정을 유도한 다음 정상수정에 실패한 난자에 대한 미세소관과 염색체의 형태학적 차이를 laser scanning confocal microscope를 이용하여 비교분석하고자 실시하였다. 일반적 수정법 혹은 세포질내 정자직접주입법 실시 후 18시간째에 해부현미경 하에서 난자를 관찰하였을 때 전핵형성에 실패한 미수정란, 한 개의 전핵 또는 3개이상의 전핵의 형성이 관찰된 이상수정란으로 구분하여 연구를 실시하였다. 미세소관의 관찰을 위해서 (-tubulin antibody를 반응시킨 후 형광물질이 부착된 2차항체와 반응시킨 후 관찰하였으며 염색체의 관찰을 위해서는 propidium iodide로 염색한 다음 confocal microscope 하에서 관찰하였다. 연구결과 대부분의 난자는 수정과정중에 있었으나 일부의 난자에서는 특정단계에서 정지되어 있는 것이 관찰되었다. 즉, 감수분열 중기에서 정자의 침입이 이루어지지 않은 경우, 정자의 침입은 이루어졌으나 sperm aster 형성이 불완전한 경우, 웅성 및 자성전핵의 형성에 실패한 경우 및 전핵의 위치가 불완전한 경우 등이 관찰되었고 이들 난자의 경우 높은 비율로 미세소관과 염색체의 이상이 관찰되었다. 이상의 연구결과로 미루어 볼 때 생식보조기법의 시술과정에서 채취되는 난자의 수정실패의 원인은 세포골격기관 특히 미세소관의 이상과 염색체의 이상에 기인되는 것으로 사료되면 이러한 세포골격 구성물질의 이상에 대해서는 추후에 세포조직학적 또는 분자생물학적 분석이 필요하다고 하겠다.

  • A performance analysis for newly being considered electric rail car office has been made in this study. The major purpose is to examine a proposed design in terms of its capacity and the proposed number of travels (82-84) per day. For this study we first examined the overall system configuration with detailed operational processes of cleaning and inspection. We then developed a simulation model using ARENA and designed input data from 12 selected factors and their interaction effects. A simulation run for each treatment combination of $L_{16}(2^{15})$ orthogonal array was run and 20 batch means were obtained. Through careful analyses of the results obtained, we drew a diversity of suggestions including the best factor level combination. Our confirmation experiments at the optimal level combination further validate the possibility of 82 runs and the consistency in the results.

Hygrolansamycins A-D, O-Heterocyclic Macrolides from Streptomyces sp. KCB17JA11

  • Six ansamycin derivatives were isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. KCB17JA11, including four new hygrolansamycins A-D (1-4) and known congeners divergolide O (5) and hygrocin C (6). Compounds 1-5 featured an unusual six-membered O-heterocyclic moiety. The isolation workflow was guided by a Molecular Networking-based dereplication strategy. The structures of 1-4 were elucidated using NMR and HRESIMS experiments, and the absolute configuration was established by the Mosher's method. Compound 2 exhibited mild cytotoxicity against five cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 24.60 ± 3.37 µM to 49.93 ± 4.52 µM.
