In planning underground roadway foundation on soft ground, deep cement mixing method (DCM) is employed. The proper mixing ratio using batch test and replacement rates that meet strength criteria are used for deep cement mixing column. Stiffness ratio and distance between deep cement mixing columns (C.T.C) are varied to find out influences on stress, displacement, and differential settlement. The replacement ratios that meet settlement criteria are 10~35%. As stiffness varies, stress reaches at 769.kPa that exceed criteria due to stress concentration when stiffness ratio difference is over 30. Also, when C.T.C is 5 m, stress spreads to soils, so C.T.C need to be considered carefully. The vertical displacement is 0.6~1.56 cm, and angular distortion is 1/909~1/510.

A numerical analysis is carried out to study the two-dimensional steady state natural convection from vertical wires immersed in cold pure water. The surface of the wire is $0^{\circ}C$ unifrom temperature. Results of the analysis are presented for free stream temperature from $0^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ and the aspect ratio N from $5.26{\times}10^{-3}$ to $1.0{\times}10^{-3}$. The effects of the density extremum and aspect ratio on the flow pattern and the heat transfer characteristics are discussed As the aspect ratio N becomes larger, in the range of $1.0^{\circ}C{\leq}T_{\infty}{\leq}4.4^{\circ}C$ and $6{^{\circ}C}{\leq}T_{\infty}{\leq}17^{\circ}C$, the effect of Pr number on the heat transfer is shown to be more significant than the aspect ratio. Investigating into the effect of the density extremum on the heat transfer from wires, the new heat transfer correlations are suggested with the relation of average Nu mumber vs. modified Ra number. Here, the coefficient values C of correlations are presented as the function of density extremum parameter $R^*$. The effects of the density extremum parameter are also discussed.
This study was carried out under the appropriate conditions of moisture content(60~70%), C/N ratio(25~30), and C/P ratio(30~35) on the mixed materials of cow dung and rice hulls. The good mixing ratio of cow dung and rice hulls was woth to one on volume basis which was able to adjust to the moisture content and C/N ratio of the mixing material. During fermentation pile period, the mixing ratio of control, non-aerated pile with turning was two to one and that of aerated pile with blower was two ti one. In fermentation pile period, average temperature of aerated pile was $55{\sim}65^{\circ}C$ and it was more higher than control of $40{\sim}50^{\circ}C$ non-aerated pile. While total nitrogen content of aerated pile was lower than that of the control, total carbon content and C/N ratio were higher. In cure pile period, the temperature and C/N ratio of aerated pile were increased at the early stage and then they were decreased, but total nitrogen and total carbon contents of aerated pile were increased in process of days. Final product in aerated pile had more fine particles and was good for the growth of cucumber seedlings than control.

Recently, in many reptiles (14 genera of turtles in five families), common characteristics of incubation temperatures are known to determine the sexes of hatchlings in many species of turtles, including the map turtles, painted turtles and snapping turtles, emys turtle, etc. According to many researcher's reports, in general, incubation at $25^{\circ}C$ (cooler temperatures) produces all or mostly males, however, incubation at $31^{\circ}C$ (higher temperatures) or higher produces all or mostly females. Exceptionally, even cooler temperature ($20^{\circ}C$) produce females, they produced all or mostly females. Accordingly, it is well-known that incubation temperature is the sex determining agent in these turtles. However, this paper presents study of the sex ratio and nest ecology in natural spawning nest: Observations on hatching sex ratios of eggs collected from natural nests of T. sinensis are similar to a previous report of the same genus Trionyx in the soft-shelled turtles. However, this genus (or species) showed some different phenomena to other kinds of turtles such as various kinds turtles mentioned above. After collection of naturally spawned eggs (17 eggs of T. sisnensis) on the natural nests, a laboratory experiment by the constant incubation temperatures was conducted with natural fluctuating soil temperatures in the natural nest with the soft-shelled turtle, T. sinensis. And also laboratory experiments were conducted using constant incubation temperatures of $25^{\circ}C$ (cooler temp.) and $30^{\circ}C$ (higher temp.) with the turtle, T. sinensis. Exceptionally, it was confirmed that the first and second incubation temperatures can't control sex-determination in the freshwater soft-shelled turtle, T. sinensis. The sex ratio approximated 1:1 (${\chi}^2=0.06$, P>0.05 (the Ist experiment). And the sex ratio approximated 1:1 independently of incubation temperature (${\chi}^2=0.33$, P>0.05 (the 2nd experiment). Consequently, temperature has no effect on sex determination in the genus Trionyx in a soft-shelled turtle.
Influence of the filler composition ratio on cure characteristics and bound rubber content of the compounds and on physical properties of the vulcanizates were studied using both silica and carbon black-filled styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) compounds with the total filler content of 80.0 phr. The bound rubber content increased slightly with increase of the silica content ratio. The viscosity also increased with increasing the silica content ratio, especially increased steeply after the silica content of 60.0 phr. The cure times obtained with a rheometer, t2, t40, and t90, are increased by increasing the silica content ratio and the cure rate decreased. The delta torque increased with the increased silica content ratio. Variation or the modulus with the silica content ratio showed a decreased trend though the delta torque increased. The tan ${\delta}$ at $60^{\circ}C$ decreased with increased of the silica content ratio.

Alkylation of phenol with tert-butanol in the liquid phase on mordenite was studied. The influence of many reaction parameters such as calcination temperature, reaction temperature, t-butanol/phenol molar ratio on catalytic properties was discussed. The main products were 2,4-di-t-butylphenol, o-t-butylphenol, p-t-butylphenol, the last of these was wanted product. In order to enhance the selectivity of p-t-butylphenol, optimum conditions were recommended at $500^{\circ}C$ calcination temperature, $140^{\circ}C$ reaction temperature, 1.0 molar ratio of reactants over mordenite. P-t-butylphenol was formed with 90% isomer selectivity at optimum conditions after 4hr reaction. On the basis of the behavior obtained in the cases mentioned, optimum conditions and catalytic properties for t-butylation of phenol were provided.
The mitotic cycle duration and component plase periods of rice (Oryza sativa L. 'Sumjinbyeo and Seokwangbyeo') root merisem cells at 15, 20, and 30$^{\circ}C$ were determined the use of tritiated thymidine, In this work, the time interval between the maxima of sequential mitotic appearances of marked cells was used to estimate the mitotic cycle duration (MCD) of rice, The MCD of rice of the cultivar 'Sumjinbyeo' and 'Seokwangbyeo' at 20. and 30$^{\circ}C$ was 12. and 20hr, respectively. But the MCD of 'Sumjinbyeo' and 'Seokwangbyeo' was 18 and 20hr, at 15$^{\circ}C$. respectively. The MCD decreased with increasing temperature, The duration of component phase of rice cultivar 'Seokwangbyeo' were essentially the same ratio at 20$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$. but in 'Sumjinbyeo' cultivar the ratio of $G_1$ period was almost doubled while those of $G_2$ and M were decreased by almost two times at 20$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Ribonucleic acid (RNA), and protein synthesis were reduced with increasing temperature from 15$^{\circ}C$ to 30$^{\circ}C$ while the MCD was decreased, This result suggest that DNA, RNA and protein synthesis may not affect the MCD from 15$^{\circ}C$ to 30$^{\circ}C$ in rice.
In this study, inelastic displacement ratios and ductility demands are investigated for SDOF systems with period range of 0.1-3.0 s. with elastoplastic behavior considering soil structure interaction. Earthquake motions recorded on different site conditions such as rock, stiff soil, soft soil and very soft soil are used in analyses. Soil structure interacting systems are modeled with effective period, effective damping and effective ductility values differing from fixed-base case. For inelastic time history analyses, Newmark method for step by step time integration was adapted in an in-house computer program. Results are compared with those calculated for fixed-base case. A new equation is proposed for inelastic displacement ratio of interacting system ($\tilde{C}_R$) as a function of structural period of interacting system ($\tilde{T}$), strength reduction factor (R) and period lengthening ratio ($\tilde{T}/T$). The proposed equation for $\tilde{C}_R$ which takes the soil-structure interaction into account should be useful in estimating the inelastic deformation of existing structures with known lateral strength.
This study intends to provide the necessary basic data needed for predicting the water quality and examining changes in water quality on the basis of the hydrological changes: an outflow or the character of a flow by investigating the interaction of the parameters through the estimation of optimal parameters need for predicting the water quality of the dam basin and the sensitivity among those estimated parameters. Im-Ha Dam in the upstream area of the Nakdong River was selected for analysis, and the water quality survey data necessary for parameter estimation was based on the monthly water quality data (water temperature, BOD, T-N and T-P) between December 1, $2005{\sim}$November 31, 2006. K1C(the saturated growth rate of plant plankton), K1RC (endogenous respiratory quotient of plankton), KDC(deoxidized ratio), K71C(minealized ratio of dissolved organic phosphorus), K83C(mineralized ratio of dissolved organic nitrogen) have been considered as the factors of the water quality performed in this water quality simulation, that is, the most effective parameters on BOD, T-N and T-P. In the result of the analysis of the sensitivity, KDC(deoxidized ratio) was the most sensitively reacted parameter on BOD and it was K71C(mineralized ratio of dissolved organic phosphorus) and K83C(mineralized ratio of dissolved organic nitrogen) on T-N and T-P. It is considered that it will be possible to apply the most optimal parameter to an analysis of the water quality simulation at Im-Ha Ho basin in the goal year by examining the interaction of the parameters through the parameters sampling which are able to applicable to prediction of the water quality and the analysis of the its sensitivity, in the future, also the analysis on the basis of the hydrological conditions: an outflow or the character of a flow will be needed.

HVAC&R systems account for more than 50% of the energy consumption of buildings. The purpose of this study is to propose an optimal design method for the HVAC&R system and to examine the possibility for the energy conservation of a selected system. The energy demand for cooling and heating is determined by using TRNSYS and HEET. By an interaction between total system efficiency and cooling-to-heating load ratio, the optimal HVAC&R systems will be decided. The results showed that this proposed method is significantly capable of determining optimal system and building design for saving energy.
