소결금속 윅과 메탄올을 사용하며 바이패스라인이 부착된 루프히트파이프의 작동 특성 (Operating Characteristics of a Sintered-Metal Wick/Methanol Loop Heat Pipe Having a Bypass Line)

  • Operating characteristics of a loop heat pipe (LHP) having a bypass line was investigated experimentally. The LHP had a sintered metal wick as a capillary structure and methanol as a working fluid. The sintered metal wick was made of stainless steel of which the average pore size was 5 ${\mu}m$and porosity of 47%. A bypass line of a small diameter was attached between the vapor escape passage and the liquid reservoir. The dimension of the flat evaporator was $50(L){\times}40(W){\times}30(H)$ mm and that of the condenser was $50(L){\times}40(W){\times}11(H)$ mm. Wall and pipe material of the LHP was stainless steel and heating area was 35(W) mm${\times}$35(L) mm. The inner diameters of vapor and liquid transport lines were 4.0 mm and 2.0 mm, and the lengths of the two lines were both 0.5 m. The LHP was tested for three different tilt angles of horizontal, favorite tilt, and adverse tilt. The thermal load range was up to 290 W at the condenser above evaporation position. Furthermore, the effect of a bypass line on the start-up transient as well as steady-state operation was presented and discussed.

Subcooling Bypass Technology를 적용한 압축기 토출 냉매 온도 감소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decrease of Compressor Discharge Temperature Using Subcooling Bypass Technology)

  • The purpose of the study is to decrease the refrigerant temperature at the outlet of the compressor under high thermal load conditions for air cooled vapor compression refrigeration system. The subcooling bypass line called subcooling bypass technology(SBT) is installed to the window type A/C system to investigate the performance test. The standard air calorimeter test method is applied to measure the refrigerant temperature at the outlet of the compressor, cooling capacity, power consumption, and system EER. The refrigerant temperature at the outlet of the compressor decreases as the bypass rate increases. When the bypass rate is 8.2%, the refrigerant temperature at the outlet of the compressor decreases $2.8^{\circ}C$ while the cooling capacity and EER are the same as the conventional A/C unit.

  • 본 연구는 울진 원자력발전소 5&6호기 Class 1680, Parallel Gate 16-inch, Motor Operated Valve (Valve ID No. SI-653 and 654)에 부착되는 Equalizing Bypass Pipe Line (EBPL)이 밸브 시스템에 발생시키는 진동하중에 의한 영향을 동적 피로안정성 관점에서 규명하기 위하여 수행된 것이다. Equalizing Bypass Line Part의 최종 설계된 형상을 Fig. 1에 나타내었다. 본 해석을 위하여 운용 중 발생되는 부착부의 잔류진동 레벨이 3축 방향 가속도로 측정되었다. 본 연구에서는 해당 시변 가속도 데이터를 바탕으로 정확한 시간-응력 이력을 얻기 위하여 시간영역에서 천이 진동해석 (Transient Vibration Analysis)을 수행하였으며, 이를 실제적인 피로해석에 활용하였다. 시간영역에서의 천이 진동해석 및 피로해석을 위해 상용유한요소 해석프로그램인 ANSYS (Version 5.6)를 활용하였다.(중략)

  • Bypass line과 Catalyst를 공간적으로 결합한 Bypass 일체형 탈질설비를 제안하였다. 탈질설비 내부에 설치되는 Bypass의 개폐장치의 형태에 따른 Catalyst로의 유동 변화를 확인하기 위하여 상용프로그램인 Ansys Fluent를 사용하여 탈질설비를 모델링하고 시뮬레이션을 구성하였다. 탈질설비 내의 Catalyst로 인한 계산시간과 Mesh의 수를 줄이기 위해 Porous media방식으로 Catalyst를 모델링하였다. Catalyst로의 입구각도와 Bypass 개폐장치의 크기를 변화시키면서 시뮬레이션을 수행하고 시뮬레이션의 결과로 Catalyst로의 유동 평균속도와 균일도의 변화를 확인하였다.

  • In this study we propose the computational model for the coronary circulation. The bypass from left ventricle is also considered. Lumped parameter model with three compartments in the coronary circulation is implemented in this study. We connected the coronary artery compartment with left ventricle to explain the bypass procedure from left ventricle. The asymmetric resistance is assumed in the bypass line from left ventricle. The present numerical method is tested for normal coronary circulation and the results are compared with the existing computational work. The bypass simulation is conducted and the flow pattern is delineated. The effect of shunt resistance and coronary compliance to circulation is investigated for the better design of the bypass shunt.

Bypass-Based Star Aggregation Using Link Attributes for Improving the Information Accuracy

  • In this study, we present an approach for reducing the information inaccuracy of existing star aggregation based on bypass links when there are multi-constraint QoS parameters in asymmetric networks. In our approach, bypass links with low similarity are selected. Links that are not chosen as bypass links are included in each group depending on the star's link characteristics. Moreover, each link group is aggregated differently according to the similarity of the links that make up the group. The selection of a bypass link by using link similarity reduces the existing time complexity of O($N^3$) to O(N) by virtue of the simplification of the selection process. In addition, the adaptive integration according to the characteristics of the links in each group is designed to reduce the information inaccuracy caused by static aggregation. Simulation results show that the proposed method maintains low information distortion; specifically, it is 3.8 times lower than that of the existing method, even when the number of nodes in a network increases.

  • The RTD Bypass Loops at Kori Unit 3&4 will be removed and a new system will be designed and will be installed to replace it. The replacement system provides equal or better performance and eliminates some Persistent problems. The Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) bypass line is eliminated to reduce the radiation exposure to operators and workers. After the elimination, the resistance temperature detectors are installed in scoop of the reactor coolant piping to detect a representative temperature. This study includes safety evaluation, RTD response time Analysis, Uncertainty Analysis, LOCA evaluation and Structural Analysis.

무배선 통신을 위한 선박 네트워크용 바이패스 장치 개발 (Development of Bypass Unit for Ship Area Network Based on Legacy-line Communication)

  • 본 논문에서는 통신 장애 영역 또는 통신 불량 지점을 우회하기 위하여 선박 네트워크를 위한 바이패스 장치를 개발하였다. 바이패스 장치는 전원 차단, 보호회로 및 결합 변압기 회로의 세 부분으로 구성되어있다. 결합 변압기는 바이 패스 장치의 성능에 지배적인 영향을 미치기 때문에 본 연구에서는 최적의 자심 재료와 크기를 결정하는데 많은 노력을 기울였다. 개발된 장치는 삽입 손실, 온도 특성 및 진동 성능 시험을 통과하였으며, 삽입 손실은 90kHz ~ 30 MHz 범위에서 -2 dB 부근이고 평균 데이터 속도는 실험실 환경에서 59.2 Mbps 이었다. 또한 한국해양대학교의 실습선을 이용한 현장 적용시험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 전력선 모뎀기반 이기종 링크간 선박 네트워크 구성은 바이패스 장치를 사용함으로서 가능하다는 것을 보여주었고, 이를 이용한 ~ Mbps 급 고속 통신이 서비스될 수 있음을 보였다.

Modeling and Simulation for PIG with Bypass Flow Control in Natural Gas Pipeline

  • This paper introduces modeling and simulation results for pipeline inspection gauge (PIG) with bypass flow control in natural gas pipeline. The dynamic behaviour of the PIG depends on the different pressure across its body and the bypass flow through it. The system dynamics includes: dynamics of driving gas flow behind the PIG, dynamics of expelled gas in front of the PIG, dynamics of bypass flow, and dynamics of the PIG. The bypass flow across the PIG is treated as incompressible flow with the assumption of its Mach number smaller than 0.45. The governing nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations for unsteady gas flows are solved by method of characteristics (MOC) with the regular rectangular grid under appropriate initial and boundary conditions. The Runge-Kuta method is used for solving the steady flow equations to get initial flow values and the dynamic equation of the PIG. The sampling time and distance are chosen under Courant-Friedrich-Lewy (CFL) restriction. The simulation is performed with a pipeline segment in the Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) low pressure system, Ueijungboo-Sangye line. Simulation results show us that the derived mathematical model and the proposed computational scheme are effective for estimating the position and velocity of the PIG with bypass flow under given operational conditions of pipeline.

  • This paper introduces modeling and solution for the dynamics of pipeline inspection gauge (PIG) flow in natural gas pipeline. Without of bypass flow, the dynamic behavior of the PIG depends on the different pressure between the rear and nose parts, which is generated by injected gas flow behind the tail of the PIG and expelled gas flow in front of its nose. With bypass flow, the PIG dynamics also depends on the amount of bypass flow across its body. The mathematical model are derived for unsteady compressible flow of the PIG driving and expelled gas, and for dynamics of the PIG. The bypass flow is assumed to be incompressible with the condition of its Mach number smaller than 0.45. The method of characteristic (MOC) and the Runge-Kutta method are used to solve the system governing equations. The simulation is performed with a pipeline segment in the Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) low pressure system, Ueijungboo-Sangye line. The simulation results show that the derived mathematical model and the proposed solution are effective for estimation the dynamics of the PIG with and without bypass flow under given operational condition.
