  • This study aims to examine the impact of service recovery in building customer loyalty through the mediating role of customer satisfaction and corporate image. This study also aims to examine the reciprocal relationship between customer satisfaction and corporate image in building customer loyalty. This study uses data from 126 consumers who have received recovery for a service failure in five logistics companies which operates in Southeast Sulawesi in Indonesia, namely; JNEs; J&T Express; Pandu Logistics; MEC; and TiKi. Data was collected using a questionnaire which was then distributed to all respondents via google form. The distribution of respondents at each logistics company provider was as follows: 19 respondents were customers of JNEs; 17 respondents were customers of J&T Express; 32 respondents were customers of Pandu Logistics; 21 respondents were customers of MEC; and 37 respondents were customers of TiKi's. The structural model developed in this study was tested using Partial Least Squared (PLS) method. The research found that service recovery has a direct effect on customer satisfaction and corporate image as positive and significant. Customer satisfaction and corporate image have a reciprocal relationship which then roles in building customer loyalty. Service recovery has an indirect effect on customer loyalty through the mediating role of customer satisfaction and corporate image.

  • The marketing literature suggests that personal relationships between customers and service providers influence consumers' evaluation of goods and services. In this paper, we investigate the effects of service providers' conversation types (non-physical communication) on customers' evaluation and satisfaction in conversation with service providers. The empirical results show that the non-physical communication affect consumers' satisfaction in communication with service providers. This implies that the non-physical communication could be considered as a strategic tool when corporations need to differentiate their services from competitors to gain an advantage in competition.

  • Product-related services in manufacturing industry are different from typical services in service industry. Product-related services ensure proper product functioning, provide additional repurchase, and offer attractive margin Product-related services in manufacturing industry are not core activity but taking supporting roles, while services in typical service industry are core parts. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of communication in linking IT and product-related logistics service in manufacturing industry. • This paper originates from the questions concerning why Korea has had difficulties in boosting R&D service industries regardless of government efforts over a decade. We first review the intrinsic nature of the R&D services and set up four criteria such as establishment type, diversification of business models, coverage of client firms, and role of R&D service firms as innovation drivers and IP strategies, that will be used in interviewing and analyzing R&D service firms. Second, we carry out in-depth interviews of eighteen R&D service firms to understand business behaviors and relevant characteristics. Finally, we identify five groups of R&D service firms and conclude that differentiated polices have to be implemented according to the groups for promoting the industry effectively.

  • This paper explores the possibility of segmentation of consumers based on their quality expectations toward the automotive telematics service. Hypotheses on utilizing consumers' expectations toward the automotive telematics service for the market segmentation and linking the segments with optimal product designs are formulated. Samples are segmented based on their perceived service quality to the service attributes from various configurations of automotive telematics service. Then, a regression analysis on the segmented groups of users is performed to check whether they have qualitatively differing evaluation on the service quality. The result indicates that the proposed segmentation is operational and differing product attributes configuration is desirable according to the characteristics of the consumer segment. Hence, according to the characteristics of each consumer segment formed based on their expectation toward the telematics service, a product differentiation strategy of the automotive telematics system can be designed and be proposed to the product line designer.

  • The business based existing BPMN model is a lack of service oriented modeling techniques. Therefore, it requires a layered technique of service oriented business modeling so that can meet the design for a complex application system, developing a system based on SOA. In order to enhance reusability and modularity of BPMN business model, this paper proposes a metamodel and business modeling process based on this metamodel that can hierarchically build a BPMN model. Towards this end, the XL-BPMN metamodel hierarchically established based on MDA and MVS styles are first defined. Then a BPMN service modeling process is constructed based on modeling elements of this metamodel according to the modeling phases. Finally, the result of a case study in which the proposed method is applied to an online shopping mall system is discussed. With the use of well-defined metamodel and modeling process, it is hoped that it can be shown that a service dominated and layered BPMN business model can be established, and that the modularity and reusability of the constructed BPMN business model can be maximized.
