  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, several studies focused on financial programs and SMEs' performance, but research on the relationship between non-financial programs, resilience, and SMEs' performance is still sparse. This study fills the gap by analyzing the role of local government in increasing SME resilience and performance by purchasing products (through civil servants) from SMEs and by facilitating online training to SMEs. This study also investigates the role of the local government in strengthening the relationship between resilience and SME performance. Data was collected using an online questionnaire distributed to SMEs in Malang Regency. As many as 410 questionnaires were received and eligible for statistical analysis using WarpPLS. The results show that resilience is positively and significantly related to the performance of SMEs. The local government programs have been proven to improve SME performance directly and indirectly through resilience. Local government programs are not proven to strengthen the relationship between resilience and the performance of SMEs, indicating that the role of government in developing countries such as Indonesia is more appropriate to be "rowing rather than steering" not "steering rather than rowing".

It also find that resilience mediates the relationship between OPCE and innovative behavior. These findings suggest that the perception of middle managers on OPCE contributes to developing their resilience, which in turn encourages them to act entrepreneurially. Theoretical and practical implications, limitations and suggestions for future studies are presented.

  • The recent Covid-19 outbreak has caused severe disruption of the global supply chain, which tests firms' ability to survive and build resilience. The concept of adaptive supply chain management (A-SCM) has never been tested against a severe supply chain disruption, such as a pandemic. Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine how firms in Indonesia develop resilience through the implementation of components of adaptive supply chain management, namely risk management, resource reconfiguration and supply chain flexibility, in order to survive severe supply chain disruption. Research design, data and methodology: A qualitative method and PLS-SEM were used to analyze 120 data collected from Indonesian manufacturing firms in various industries. Results: The findings show that risk management, resource reconfiguration, and supply chain flexibility are important components that make up A-SCM. However, only risk management contributes to help build firm resilience in the presence of severe supply chain disruption. Conclusions: The components of A-SCM have been empirically tested. The implication is that managers should carefully use RM to prepare firms for different scenarios to develop contingency strategies. This research contributes to the supply chain management body of knowledge in the context of pandemic-level disruption and broadens the dynamic capabilities perspective.

In relation to stress mindset aspects, this study verified the impact of academic stress, future anxiety, and positive mental health as a way to improve the mental health of students with a positive stress mindset through an online social networking platform. Additionally, the effectiveness of resilience was demonstrated as a way to increase the effectiveness of stress mindset. In order to verify hypotheses, this study conducted a survey from 104 university students in Korea. The results indicated that stress mindset was directly related to academic stress. In addition, resilience had a significant moderating effect on the relationship between stress mindset and academic stress. However, since the effect was not found for future anxiety and positive mental health, the need to establish a new strategy was raised. The research has implications in suggesting ways for students to have a positive stress mindset and increase its effectiveness.

  • The study's goal is to determine how factors affecting tourism resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic affect Ho Chi Minh Tourism's ability to respond to changes and disruptions. The model and research hypotheses were tested using Multiple Regression Analysis Models. The statistical findings showed that the tourism resilience components have a significant influence on the tourism resilience in Ho Chi Minh city. The analyses revealed that tourism resilience consisted of four latent dimensions. There are 4 explanatory variables with a significance coefficient < 0.05. Therefore, the variables Economic resilience, Ecological resilience, Institutional resilience, and Social resilience all have a significant impact on tourist resilience, which is consistent with Jamaliah and Powell (2017). The findings have important managerial implications for local governments, as well as factors that contribute to tourism resilience, as they must attempt to adapt to changes and turbulences during a pandemic, ensuring that the tourism system rebounds in the future. The four components of tourist resilience are defined in the theoretical contribution. The findings of the study could serve as a starting point for developing future tourist resilience strategies. Because the application of tourist resilience theory is still relatively new, this study presents two theoretical and methodological contributions.
