A Case Study on Electronic Commerce for Medical Fields in e-Marketplace of EZmedicom (이지메디컴의 e-마켓플레이스를 통한 의료전자상거래 시스템 사례연구)

  • In this study, we conduct a case analysis on EZmedicom which is one of the leading companies in e-Marketplace for medical fields. By examining major business models of EZmedicom, we provide the success factors in launching the electronic commerce to the potential companies which are interested in participating in e-marketplace for medical fields. Especially, we deduct the solution, logistics field, and electronic group-purchasing as its major business model. Based on these factors, we also propose the MDvan solution which is one of the electronic purchase and supply system, Ezlogis that is the system supporting logistics parts in medical fields, VMI(vendor management inventory), standardization of item code and the linkage of SCM as its critical success factors of EZmedicom. The findings of this study suggest practical and managerial implications for e-Marketplace implementation in the medical field and further research.

Analysis of Competitiveness in Steel Distribution Industry between China and Japan

  • Purpose - This paper reviews the change of steel export-import structure between Japan and China by the courtesy of international business reference index and stress to analyze comparative advantage under the circumstance of time-series evaluating database by 3 indexes. Research design, data, methodology - Per economic phase, both China-Japan have mutually a complementary base. Under this kind of view point, the reason why to conduct this study is to realize how this 2 country's trade competitiveness should be improved and strengthened. Results - Under this research data and analysis outcomes, bilateral intra-economy's potential supplementation is enormous. Additionally, expected benefits from here are so sufficiently assured as we compare them with any other regional economic integrated society. Conclusions - When we review our economic point of view, Northeast economic cooperations between China and Japan can provide a chance for industrial technological cooperations not only in steel business but also in other business areas. Come to think of the circumstance to accelerate competitions between 2 country's industries past time and acknowledge concrete resource supplier including expanding export market and diversification.

  • By employing primarily the Kendall's Concordance Test, the paper attempted to conduct an experts' evaluation on the interaction among the agents in Busan marine tourism cluster and recommend some measures for policy consideration for the cluster's activation. For this purpose, a conceptual framework was developed to guide the assessment by using inter-agent cooperation and network approaches regarding the nature of the marine tourism cluster. Such factors as cooperation, competition, relationship marketing, and networking were identified as critical. Findings of the study imply that Busan marine tourism cluster is at its embryonic stage and needs desperate measures for improvement in the inter-organizational cooperation and networking, the major regional characteristics that determine the competitiveness of marine tourism.

The Effects of Supply Network's Social Capitals on Sustainable Supply Network Management Project and Its Performance (공급망의 사회적 자본 특성이 친환경 공급망관리 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The successful implementation of green supply chain management(GSCM) practices requires a level of cooperation that can be difficult to conduct. Despite this challenge, limited scholarly attention has been paid to exploring how the implementation of GSCM practices can be effectively facilitated and enhanced through accumulated social capital with suppliers. Based on social capital theory, this study postulates that supplier network characteristics derived from social capital with key suppliers can be critical antecedents of GSCM, which in turn enhances the firm's environmental performance. To test hypotheses, data were collected from 330 firms in 15 countries, and structural equation modeling was employed. Results show that GSCM improves environmental performance, and structural and cognitive social capitals of the supplier network act as antecedents and lead to GSCM implementation.

  • Business firms and consumers exist within a society, and their activities influence a society, because they are not separated from a society. Thus, consumers as well as business firms have been asked to conduct socially responsible actions (i.e., environmentally friendly production and socially friendly activities). Previous researchers have investigated on the relationship between corporate social responsibilities and business performances. For example, researchers have analyzed the effects of corporate social responsibility on consumer's corporate evaluations. The corporate social responsibility is commonly classified into the three dimensions (economic, social, and environmental responsibility). In this paper, we demonstrated that the consumer social responsibility can also be classified into the three dimensions. Previous researchers have shown that the three dimensions of corporate social responsibility influence consumer's corporate evaluation. However, they have not considered the interaction effect of the corporate social responsibility and the consumer social responsibility on consumers' corporate evaluation. Different from the past studies, this study investigated on the interaction effect of consumer social responsibility (economic, social, environmental responsibility) and corporate social responsibility (economic, social, environmental responsibility) on consumer's corporate evaluation. For the study, we collected survey data of 200 consumers and analyzed the interaction effect with ANOVAs. The result showed that the three dimensions of social responsibility to both corporate and consumers influence positively the corporate evaluation. They also showed that the interaction effect of consumer responsibility and corporate responsibility on the corporate evaluation was statistically significant. This implies that it is necessary for corporate to conduct corporate social responsibility differently depending on consumer's activity for consumer social responsibility.

  • Small business start-up competition in the market has become overheated. It is effected by early retirement and unemployment, specially youth employment. It is a research on small business owners' satisfaction of SEMAS(Small Enterprise and Market Service) based on the funding policy, education and consulting program. It has surveyed 272 small business owners living Gyeongsangnam-province from January 2013 to September 2015. In addition, it analyzes some factors such as motivation, business model, item, owner's experience, sales and demographic by small business owner. Analysis results, the satisfaction of small business that uses support system is shown to be significantly related with education degree, entrepreneur motivation, and business kind is partly related. It will conduct a decision-making governor to help small business owners entered the start-up market and.

  • RFID has substituted for a Bar Code to conduct real time data collection and data process in various fields including logistics, electronic, medical treatment, car, textile, steel industry at the business level. Although implementation and use of RFID has been facilitated constantly, the majority of businesses hesitate to implement RFID system. Hence in this study, we conducted a performance evaluation through quantitative/qualitative analysis on case studies in various industries. This study results could be utilized as basic data for RFID system diffusion, and it will primarily contribute to spread of RFID system implementation.

  • The rapid expansion of the WWW is well known and has huge potential for enabling companies, large and small, to gain new marketplaces globally at low cost, or to be disintermediated by others doing so. A totally new competitive environment opening up new opportunities is upon us. As a result, the electronic commerce is growing quickly and the importance of electronic marketplace is emphasized. From the view of SCM, applying the business-to-business electronic commerce to the relationship between firms is expected to make major changes. This study focuses on the effects of the introduction of web-based purchasing systems on the buyer-supplier relationship. We conduct a case study on the Korean firms The major findings of this study are summarized as follows. First, in introductory phase, some buying firms fail to design the appropriate mechanism for business relationships. It can weaken the cooperation between buyers and suppliers. Second, for critical or customized parts, it is possible to gather the information about potential suppliers and to make business relations using it. Third, using web-based purchasing systems, capable suppliers can take more opportunities to leverage its competence for business relations. So we can expect the positive feedback.

Opinion-Mining Methodology for Social Media Analytics

  • Social media have emerged as new communication channels between consumers and companies that generate a large volume of unstructured text data. This social media content, which contains consumers' opinions and interests, is recognized as valuable material from which businesses can mine useful information; consequently, many researchers have reported on opinion-mining frameworks, methods, techniques, and tools for business intelligence over various industries. These studies sometimes focused on how to use opinion mining in business fields or emphasized methods of analyzing content to achieve results that are more accurate. They also considered how to visualize the results to ensure easier understanding. However, we found that such approaches are often technically complex and insufficiently user-friendly to help with business decisions and planning. Therefore, in this study we attempt to formulate a more comprehensive and practical methodology to conduct social media opinion mining and apply our methodology to a case study of the oldest instant noodle product in Korea. We also present graphical tools and visualized outputs that include volume and sentiment graphs, time-series graphs, a topic word cloud, a heat map, and a valence tree map with a classification. Our resources are from public-domain social media content such as blogs, forum messages, and news articles that we analyze with natural language processing, statistics, and graphics packages in the freeware R project environment. We believe our methodology and visualization outputs can provide a practical and reliable guide for immediate use, not just in the food industry but other industries as well.

  • The importance of business problem-solving creativity (BPSC) becomes crucial much more as competitive situations go on in the market. However, how to assess the BPSC remains an unsolved research issue yet in the literature. In this sense, this study proposes an exploratory analysis of the BPSC from the view of neuro-science experiments called fNIRS. The fNIRS represents a functional near-infrared spectroscopy, a new type of neuro-science research paradigm. This study proposes an exploratory level of how to conduct the fNIRS-based experiments to analyze the BPSC.
