  • E-business automates overall activities in a company and allows distributed systems to communicate their information. The automation and information sharing improves its productivity and responsiveness. B2B workflow systems progress their business processes electronically and help the companies to monitor their execution and administrate the processes. This research analyzes the technologies and standards for B2B workflow integration, and proposes three approaches to implement effectively workflow integration. We analyze several existing workflow standards and business process definition languages, and compare their structures and features. And we examine the messaging technologies and architectures to implement business integration. Finally we extract a reference model for B2B workflow integration, and propose three types of workflow integration and implementation designs. This research helps companies to understand the workflow standards and the messaging technologies for B2B workflow integration, and to implement workflow integration systems that are suitable for their e-business environments.

  • Companies have to take agility against change of environment and build up the capacity of new value creation in today's management environment. Until now, there are so many management method for efficiency of management, rationality of management and IT (information technology) supported this method by integration of enterprise task and process automation. but company's competitiveness through the efficiency of management realized the limitations recently. so companies needs the new management method to raise core value of enterprise. This study applies strategy intelligence which is some part of Business Intelligence. We can identify the core value driver by using this method. and the core value driver is connected the KPI (key performance indicator) of processes in BPM (Business Process Management). This help the management of process focused on value driver. and some part of activity driver that effect the process performance can be use the Six Sigma method to strategic business process. This study first introduces the concept of Business Intelligence, Business Process Management and Six Sigma. and then efficient connection plan for value based strategic business process is introduces.

  • Tracking ICT applications on construction business processes is critical to the success of ICT-applied construction projects. Existing IDEF0 is a representative modeling method for visualizing and analyzing business processes. It defines a construction production process into a visual information model, hence, encouraging the project participant to understand the activities, their deliverable, and control flow of the process. However, IDEF0 dose not lend itself to ICT-applied construction processes, because it does not provide a mean to define how, in what order, by which each and every activity that ICT applied implements. This paper presents a new business modeling method that improves the traceability of ICT application (IAMB: ICT Application tracking Model for Business process) for construction management. The IAMB contributes to handle the sophisticated features of construction management processes to which ICT are applied. The method categorizes the process into three types: management, construction, and information exchange. The validity of IAMB was confirmed by analyzing the performance when it is used for tracking each modeling step of lift reservation process which making use of ICT. The test case provides an admissible evidence that the method encourage to define who, what, how, which order, and by which ICT tools the construction process exchanges production information.

  • This paper describes a preliminary investigation of contracts with a view towards automating the process of contract match-making. A novel approach based on exploiting Standard Form Contracts(SFC) is described. The approach is shown to be implementable with current technology. A second approach based on Standard Contract Clauses(SCC) which overcomes some of the limitations of Standard Form Contracts, is briefly outlined. The flexibility offered by this approach however, is accompanied by a considerable increase in the complexity of contract match-making. Both Standard Form Contracts and Standard Contract Clauses based match-making point towards an exciting area of future research.

  • The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze the conditions and automation of sewing machines and thereby, address the problems and their solutions to help local sewn products enhance their international competitiveness. The results of study can be summarized as follows : 1. It was found that most of the sample companies were getting smaller scale or pettier in terms of capital, number of employees or scale of factory. The interest in facility investment was relatively higher, which suggests high interest of our sewing companies in facility investment. 2. Most of the sample companies were well equipped with the essential and several auxiliary sewing machines, but poorly equipped with the special or automated sewing machines. 3. The ratio of idle machines was highest in sewing work, compared with cutting or finishing work, primarily due to decreased orders, aging machines or reduced manpower.

  • As the structure of an enterprise becomes complicated and distributed, the interoperability between workflow systems for the process automation among partners or departments is rising as an important issue. For the interoperability between workflow systems, we propose a data exchange scenario based on mobile agents. The scenario includes sequence diagrams and methods defined by UML. The mobile agents are designed based on the mobile agent standard, MASIF, developed by OMG. In order to prove the applicability of the mobile agent technology to workflow interoperability, we have developed a prototype function which creates and transfers mobile agents.

  • We propose a message-based communication protocol for software agents. An emphasis is placed on the problems of sharing and exchanging information through agent communication. We adopt the Resource Description Framework (RDF) schema for information modelling in business domain. The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) serialization is used to generate messages for agent communication. The use of XML and RDF enables software agents to understand the contents of messages correctly and consistently. We believe that the approach can provide a promising way to the automation of business processes through seamless communication among the partners.

  • Although some CASE tools supported conceptual data design, they required for users too much preliminary knowledge to learn how to use and handle them. In addition, in a number of studies on conceptual data design with natural language, they claimed passive participation for users with conforming to messages predefined by CASE tools. As an alternative to these traditional CASE tools, we proposed an ERD formulator for automated data design tool, called ERDF, so that even ordinary users, not necessarily data modeler, are capable of formulating ERD on business requirements by use of ERDF. We, first of all, introduced NSM as the standard methodology. We also designed the structure of ERDF including main controller, input controller, operation controller, regulation controller, schema controller, and output controller. We then defined conceptual domains and basic operations to lay down schema operations as well as sentence rules to handle input sentence in natural language. To get an ERD that is faithful to business requirements, we laid out supplementary design for dialogue and confirmation of soundness and completion.

  • This study intend to make easy modification, even if there is a new job or structure change, by modularizing program and computerize and automation of production control management used in CIM. Under the condition where manager control production on the job-site, for increasing connection with other operation and management on the computer by monitoring center computer, Recognizing information by computer is needed, it is possible by converting transaction. So production increase and quality improvement are possible by diminishing manager's and producer's work with the result of the study combining POP and CIM, after that, in e-business and m-business period that every enterprise must pass, customer satisfaction and sales promotion are possible with employee's computerizing minds. These study result also can knowledge process condition with theoretical class and have a power in finding a solution with foundation of theoretical knowledge.
