  • In this paper a protocol design for bus network communication between onboard signalling system and MMI(Man Machine Interface) will be presented and illustrated. Recently, many onboard signailling systems adopt hot standby for safety reasons. Hot standby is a method of redundancy in which the primary and secondary systems run simultaneously. It is convenient to use bus network(bus topology) in a hot standby system for communication between onboard signalling system and MMI. Because bus network is the simplest way to connect multiple clients such as onboard signalling system, MMI and etc. However, there are many problems when two clients want to transmit at the same time on the same bus. A effective protocol is necessary to solve that problems. We will describes protocol design which is useful when onboard signalling systems and MMIs are connected via RS485(Bus Network).

  • Wireless 1394 over IEEE802.15.3 must allow a data reserved for delivery over a wired 1394 network to be delivered over an IEEE802.15.3 wireless network through bridging IEEE 1394 to IEEE802.15.3. Isochronous transfers on the 1394 bus guarantee timely delivery of data. Specifically, isochronous transfers are scheduled by the bus so that they occur once every $125\;{\mu}s$ and require clock time synchronization to complete the real-time data transfer. IEEE1394.1 and Protocol Adaptation Layer for IEEE1394 over IEEE802.15.3 specify clock time synchronization for a wired 1394 bus network to a wired 1394 bus network and wireless 1394 nodes, which are IEEE802.15.3 nodes handling 1394 applications, over IEEE802.15.3. Thus, the clock time synchronizations are just defined within a homogeneous network environment like IEEE1394 or IEEE802.15.3 until now. This paper proposes new clock time synchronization method for wireless 1394 heterogeneous networks between 1394 and 802.15.3. If new method is adopted for various wireless 1394 products, consumer electronics devices such as DTV and Set-top Box or PC devices on a 1394 bus network can transmit real time data to the AV devices on the other 1394 bus in a different place via IEEE 802.15.3.

Configuration of Actuator and Sensor Interface Bus Network using PLC

  • A kind of field bus called Actuator and Sensor interface bus(AS-i) was designed in this paper. The configuration of AS-i network system used Application Specific Integrated Circuit(ASIC) SAP5S chip and PLC S7-200 station, which included CPU 224 and AS-i master module CP 243-2. We also created an example program for PLC S7-200 to control AS-i network. The fire and smoke detection system was made with AS-i network system that was designed. This system had got more advantages than other system such as number of stations, easy installation, wide working area, etc. And designed system can be used as a partner network for higher level field bus networks.

  • In this paper, we present a performance analysis for an MPEG-4 video codec based on the on-chip network communication architecture. The existing on-chip buses of system-on-a-chip (SoC) have some limitation on data traffic bandwidth since a large number of silicon IPs share the bus. An on-chip network is introduced to solve the problem of on-chip buses, in which the concept of a computer network is applied to the communication architecture of SoC. We compared the performance of the MPEG-4 video codec based on the on-chip network and Advanced Micro-controller Bus Architecture (AMBA) on-chip bus. Experimental results show that the performance of the MPEG-4 video codec based on the on-chip network is improved over 50% compared to the design based on a multi-layer AMBA bus.

  • The bus should supply an equal service to the whole community as feeder trip. However the existing bus route can not supply an effective feeder service in spite of the changes in the latent demand by the variety of regional structural change. This study aimed to establish the concept which frames the bus operation and management to cope with the latent demand to the bus. This study tackled this evidence by analyzing the transportation problems in terms of the urban growth emphasizing the following issues ; First, the strategy to improve the bus operation Second the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third economical range to justify the bus operation Second, the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third, economical range to justify the bus operation Fourth, the allowance for the private transportation mode On the latter part, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation could be justified. This study would provide some implications to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.

시내버스 노선망 위계구조의 효율성 분석 (대전시 사례분석을 중심으로) (Efficiency of the Hierarchical Structure for a Bus Network)

  • 대전시를 사례로 위계수준을 달리한 4개의 노선망 대안(대안 1은 위계가 없는 노선망, 대안 2, 대안 3, 대안 4는 각각 초급, 중급, 상급 수준의 위계를 가진 노선망)을 작성하고, 평가지표(차내통행시간비용, 대기시간비용, 환승페널티비용)를 산출하여 대안간 비교를 통해 효율성을 분석하였다. 차내통행시간비용은 위계가 높은 대안일수록 감소하다가 위계가 매우 높아지면 다시 증가하는 것으로나타났다. 대기시간 비용은 위계가 높은 대안일수록 큰폭으로 감소하며, 환승페널티비용은 위계가 높은 대안일수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 종합적으로 볼 때 총통행비용은 위계가 있는 노선망이 위계가 없는 노선망에 비하여 낮은 것으로 나타나 위계구조를 가진 노선망의 효율성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 위계가 있는 노선망 중에서는 위계가 높을수록 총통행비용이 감소하다가 위계가 지나치게 높아지게 되면 오히려 증가하는 특성을 보임으로써 중급수준의 위계를 가진 노선망이 가장 효율성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Digitalization of the substation in Korea has been in progress so far with focusing on Station Bus. However, its application to Process Bus has been delayed due to some technical issues. IEDs based on Process Bus use the data values of SV and GOOSE. As the size of communication data on Process Bus is comparatively bigger than that of Station Bus, it is very important for the evaluating the performance of Process Bus to analyze the transferring speed and quality of data from the first equipment, which is located on process level, to station level. According to the results of related studies, it is said that the most important factor for the design and operation of Process Bus network is the communication delay with consideration of the volume of packets. In the paper, the results of performance test for the network with and without application of VLAN on Process Bus system that uses integrated IEDs are presented. Additionally, the paper proposes the optimal method to analyze the communication delays of network systems through evaluating the maximum delay time, link process ratio and the amount of lost packets by using a simulation tool.

  • 본 논문은 온칩 네트워크 기반 플랫폼을 이용한 멀티미디어 비디오 코덱의 성능 분석에 대해 기술한다. 최근에 멀티미디어 SoC 통신 구조로 등장한 온칩 네트워크(On-Chip Network)는 기존의 SoC 설계에 사용된 온칩 버스(On-Chip Bus) 구조의 문제점을 해결하는 통신 구조로서 데이터 통신의 병렬성 제공으로 인한 고성능, 재사용성, 확장성을 제공하는 통신 구조이다. 온칩 네트워크 기반 MPEG-4, H.264의 성능과 온칩 버스와 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 실험 결과, 온칩 네트워크 기반 MPEG-4, H.264의 성능이 온칩 버스에 비해 33~56%의 성능이 개선되었다.

  • Local Interconnect Network(LIN)은 저속의 차량 통신 버스로 윈도우, 도어, 공조, 조명 등 바디 어플리케이션에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 LIN 버스의 프로토콜과 메시지 프레임에 대해 자세히 설명한다. LIN 버스에서는 기본적으로 메시지 프레임에서 ID와 페이로드만 전송하며, 이들 ID와 페이로드를 해석하는 방법은 LIN Description File(LDF)를 통해서 각각의 LIN 버스마다 다르게 정의한다. 본 논문에서는 LDF의 문법과 예제에 대해서도 자세히 설명한다.
