  • The study mainly aims to explore how deterioration of motor control center, namely MCC, and vibration put impact on temperature of bus bar as well as temperature change of bolt-nut joint. The motor control center consists of three internal parts (i.e. R, S, T) which are for motor operation of high capacity. Two dimensional mechanism for measuring temperature was designed and manufactured with infrared temperature sensor. Installing it in inner motor control center enabled researcher to monitor temperature of bus bar as well as amount of change of current regularly. Temperature change of bus bar according to load was primarily examined based on a bolted joint in the experiment. It was clearly verified that temperature change of bus bar was proportional to current consumption. Therefore, installing non-contact two dimensional mechanism for measuring temperature in motor control center would be expected to prevent temperature rise owing to overload current and power outage as well as fire accident which can be triggered by poor electrical contact.

  • The bus should supply an equal service to the whole community as feeder trip. However the existing bus route can not supply an effective feeder service in spite of the changes in the latent demand by the variety of regional structural change. This study aimed to establish the concept which frames the bus operation and management to cope with the latent demand to the bus. This study tackled this evidence by analyzing the transportation problems in terms of the urban growth emphasizing the following issues ; First, the strategy to improve the bus operation Second the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third economical range to justify the bus operation Second, the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third, economical range to justify the bus operation Fourth, the allowance for the private transportation mode On the latter part, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation could be justified. This study would provide some implications to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.

  • This paper presents the application of a FARMA controller to stabilization of nonlinear Two-Generator Five-Bus power Systems. The control rules and the membership functions of the FARMA controller are generated automatically without using any plant model high complexity and severe nonlinearity of power systems are introduced and two-Machine Five -Bus Power system stabilization problem is formulated. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and application possibility of the FARMA controller to the control problem of high order and nonlinear plants.

  • A Voltage Bus Conditioner (VBC) is used to mitigate the voltage transients on a common power distribution bus. The VBC described here utilises inductive storage and unlike its counter part with capacitive storage, it can employ the entire stored energy towards transients' mitigation. The performances of adaptive duty ratio control and sliding mode control have been compared. The simulation results (with the package SABER) indicate that the sliding mode control results in the shortest and the smallest bus voltage excursions.

  • Stabilization of the DC bus voltage is an important task in DC-AC microgrid system with renewable energy source such as solar system. A battery energy storage system (BESS) has become a general solution to stabilize the DC-bus voltage in DC-AC microgrid. This paper develops the analog BESS controller which requires neither computation nor dc-bus voltage measurement, so that the system can be implemented simply and easily. Even though others methods can stabilize and control the DC-bus voltage, it has complicated structure in control and low adaptive capability. The proposed topology is simple but is able to compensate the solar source variation and stabilize the DC-bus voltage under any loads and distributed generation (DG) conditions. In addition, the design of analog controller is presented to obtain a robust system. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, simulation is carried out by using PSIM software.

  • This paper presents Power Control and Distribution Unit development of GEO satellite with 3kW power output. The sensing error of bus voltage produce control signal of the shunt switch assembly and battery power converter, and the tolerance of error signals generated decide the stability of proposed system. The dynamic characteristics of main bus according to the load changing and the control logic of FPGA are simulated. In order to verify the proposed design, the simulation and experimental results for solar array shunt switch, battery power converter and bus controller are shown.

  • A DC power system has many loads with varied functions. Also, there may be large pulsed loads with short duty ratios which can affect the normal operation of other loads. In this paper, Voltage Bus Conditioner(VBC) without any current sensors is proposed to damp the bus voltage transients by parallel pulsed loads. The proposed control approach requires only one voltage sensor and carries out both the functions of damping the bus voltage transients and maintaining the level of energy stored. The proposed control technique has been implemented on a TMS320F2812 Digital Signal Processor(DSP). Simulated results by a Matlab Simulink and experimental results are presented which verify the control principles and demonstrate the practicalty of the approach.

  • This paper proposes a structure of the control system for the step & scan exposure tool. The step & scan exposure tool is used for the manufacturing process of the semiconductor DRAM memory of giga bit. The control system employs the VME bus instead of the conventional ISA bus so that all control signals and data can be managed separately by the 4 VME-PCs for fast and fault-free flow of signals for multi-tasking. A high speed I/O card is equipped for the real-time monitoring and control of the sub module equipment. Then all the subsystems are integrated and aligned for the operation of the step & scan exposure tool with the VME bus and, I/O card.
