  • As the new large buildings are continuously being built with the advanced technology and skills, an adequate size of electric room needs to be obtained so that engineers establish an efficient and reliable system in the electric room. Considering the current capacity, its expansion and its connecting system, the final size of it should be determined in order to bring an effective use of the building. Usually the extension of electricity capacity is on the increase after construction and it comes from the lack of scientific evaluation on the electric room. Later when the expansion of computer and important electric equipment that needs much capacity is impossible, it will cause a great deal of damage to the renting business of the building as well as becomes the unstable factors of the whole system. Therefore, it is important to have the exact method of calculating the effective size of electric room, the heart of the building, especially when the value of land price is very high. In addition, it should be calculated in an accurate way due to the diversification of the system and the compact size of the electricity equipment. However, the research on this area and the comparison and evaluation of the size after construction have not been made enough and the results of them have not been applied when calculating a new size of electric room. Accordingly, this study examines three methods prescribed in the standards of electricity installation technology through case analysis and suggests substantial data by system, capacity, and purpose.

임대주택의 디자인 다양화를 위한 사례분석 연구 (Design Analysis of Affordable Housing Cases for Varieties of Public Rental Housing)

  • Since public rental housings (social housings) in Korea are extremely standardized and uniformed, a variety of needs of residents for their housing are hardly satisfied. Public rental housing conditions, its low quality and size limitations regardless of residents type and needs resulted into negative images of social housing and social discriminations. Therefore there is a growing demand for alternative housing options in terms of diversification of social housing design with consideration for changing households and housing requirements. The purpose of this study to investigate some housing design guidelines, to analyze layout of building complex, community designs, household units and characteristics, overall design characteristics (sustainable design features, facade design, window and balcony composition, color and materials) and to provide some design suggestions for social housing. Design guidelines are classified into site planning and building layouts, residential building and household units, and performance of housing. Community facilities and their design features provide uniqueness of the public residence. Overall housing size of foreign cases is bigger than the domestic cases. Narrow shape of household units are more dominant in Korean public rental housing. More various shape and forms are found in facade and window design in foreign cases. Some design suggestion are provided for more diverse housing units and design for public rental housing in Korea.

  • Due to the growing interest in eco-friendly and sustainable design in the architectural and urban planning field, we are witnessing numerous projects in which old buildings are being reused. However, with the exception of domestic apartments, there hasn't been a systematic approach or policy regarding the reuse of specific building types. On the other hand, we were able to point out two public building types, dong-offices and primary schools, that are expected to be underused, with future needs for conversion. Because the two building types are public buildings, we believe that their conversion must address the needs of the society. In this study, we have chosen 'social integration' as the ultimate goal of reusing public buildings. Upon the conceptual model of 'Housing-Mixed Public Facility', which was produced in a previous study, we have added other core programs that could be adopted into the model. Then, we applied the improved model onto the two building types by producing conversion plans and introducing key planning techniques. During this process, we have found some regulations that would not allow the realization of some models. Therefore, we have suggested amendments to the related regulations.

Energy Sustainability of an Integrative Kinetic Light Shelf Unit

  • Purpose: Suggesting a working prototype of a kinetic light shelf unit and revealing its energy efficiency by a series of building performance simulations were presented. Recently, kinetic building envelope has been an emerging technology as an innovative way to control exterior building environment, but products from many researches about the facade could not been reached to the industrialization so far. That is because its initial installation, operation and maintenance costs are still too high to use for the practical field, although buildings using kinetic envelopes could decrease their energy consumption significantly. This narrow point of view needs to be reconsidered, since buildings require great amount of energies to run their functions through the whole life and using better building components can lead to achieve much more benefits in aspects of the lifecycle cost (LCC). Method: A series of certified simulation tools like Ecotect and Green Building Studio that are normally used for researches and developments in the field of architecture were utilized. Result: Based on simulation analyses, the result of the study has showed that the proposed system definitely has adaptability to the professions and positively shows practicability as advanced integrative building envelopes with renewable energy association.

  • 수치지도의 효율적 갱신방안이 필요한 이유는 수치지도가 지자체 및 여러 지리정보시스템의 기본도로 활용되고 있어 수치지도의 수정갱신 이슈가 공간정보 활용 극대화의 열쇠가 되기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수치지도의 건물레이어를 중심으로 그 속성정보를 효율적으로 갱신하기 위해 건축물대장과 연계하는 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 가장 필수적인 사항은 두 자료의 건물간 연계가 일대일로 이루어져야 한다는 점으로, 본 연구에서는 건축물대장과 수치지도의 건물도형에 새주소사업의 건물번호를 공통으로 부여하여 일대일로 연계함으로서 ID 기반의 건물레이어 속성정보의 수정갱신 모델을 수립하였다.

  • As the 21st century signifies an information-oriented society, the computer integration takes place in all walks of human presence. Needs for computer and network-integrated automation present new challenges in military as well as commercial facility systems engineering. Since the first intelligent building appeared in USA in 1984, it gradually became an essential capability for the building industry requirement these days. Intelligent Building System(IBS) is evolving to be very complex because there are many subsystems such as telecommunication(TC), office automation(OA), building automation(BA), security, construction environments, etc. During the planing phase of IBS development, therefore, a disciplined systems engineering must be performed to analyze stake- holder's requirements to build an optimized system while minimizing trial-and-error expenses and risks. This paper presents a conceptual design of BAS applying systems engineering methods. The contribution of this study includes the development of IBS subsystem specification for building automation subsystem, which is a part of IBS, using the methodology of requirement analysis, functional analysis, synthesis, and verification. A computer-aided systems engineering s/w, RDD-100, was used to improve the system design efficiency and to promote the product design knowledge management for reuse in later design programs.

전문가 인식조사를 통한 녹색건축물 교육 실태분석과 개선방안 연구 (The Current Status Analysis and Improvement of Green Building Education through Expert Survey)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the current condition of green building education, which is a necessary condition to activate green architecture, with the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector. The main results are as follows. First, the level of education and the level of domestic green architecture were generally underestimated. Second, in order to increase the satisfaction of participants in green building education, it is necessary to increase the number of courses and to increase the number of lecturers who have excellent practical skills. Third, there is a need to strengthen green building programs related to BEMS and green remodeling. Fourth, it is necessary to expand the education on green architecture for the people in the architectural planning and design field and the related field officials. Fifth, green building education needs to be implemented in conjunction with curriculum of elementary, middle and high school. Sixth, it is necessary to diversify the PR(public relations) channels of the green building education program and to provide a way to give the employment increase point when the curriculum is completed. Seventh, there is a need to expand administrative and financial incentives for green architecture in order to revitalize green architecture education.

SVDD를 활용한 상업용 건물에너지 소비패턴의 이상현상 감지 (Anomaly Detection and Diagnostics (ADD) Based on Support Vector Data Description (SVDD) for Energy Consumption in Commercial Building)

  • Anomaly detection on building energy consumption has been regarded as an effective tool to reduce energy saving on building operation and maintenance. However, it requires energy model and FDD expert for quantitative model approach or large amount of training data for qualitative/history data approach. Both method needs additional time and labors. This study propose a machine learning and data science approach to define faulty conditions on hourly building energy consumption with reducing data amount and input requirement. It suggests an application of Support Vector Data Description (SVDD) method on training normal condition of hourly building energy consumption incorporated with hourly outdoor air temperature and time integer in a week, 168 data points and identifying hourly abnormal condition in the next day. The result shows the developed model has a better performance when the ${\nu}$ (probability of error in the training set) is 0.05 and ${\gamma}$ (radius of hyper plane) 0.2. The model accuracy to identify anomaly operation ranges from 70% (10% increase anomaly) to 95% (20% decrease anomaly) for daily total (24 hours) and from 80% (10% decrease anomaly) to 10%(15% increase anomaly) for occupied hours, respectively.

경험디자인이 적용된 토탈 인테리어 브랜드의 쇼룸 만족도 - 국내 건자재 기업들이 운영하는 쇼룸을 중심으로 - (The Satisfaction with the Showrooms of the Total Interior Brands applied on Experience Design - Focused on the Showrooms Managed by Domestic Building Material Companies -)

  • The home interior market has been expanding due to the continuing increase of single-person households, the craze for DIY interior design, the increasing demands for old-house renovation and the customer needs for good housing conditions. Now the building materials companies are scrambling for the whole interior market share. The heretofore companies have focused only on the single items, but now they are promoting the comprehensive interior products as total interior brands. Besides, they use their own showrooms to share their brand culture experience and have communication with their customers. As for the show rooms, they have got to represent the identities of the building materials brands. And to present them effectively, it needs to meet the customer needs and emotions. In this connection, the object of this study is to clarify the definitions and the characteristics of the show rooms and the experience design through the literature research, analysis the space characteristics of the experience design in the show rooms of total interior brands, investigate their customer satisfaction and present the direction and the effective methods of the space design for the show rooms of the future. And the study result shows the experience design is the key factor to the high user satisfaction. Thus, the show rooms should provide the well-balanced experience with the adoption of a variety of experience design elements. Especially, the experience design elements are needed in the room to display the merchandise. Lastly, the show rooms are expected to increase constantly, so the study targeted at the specific area, Seoul should be expanded to other areas. And this study based on the customer survey alone have a limit to giving the concrete proposals. Therefore, the follow-up studies with the different methods such as one-to-one interview will be in demand.
