  • The aim of this paper is to investigate the laws of building service system among the laws of construction and to show alternative proposals against the problems. The result of this paper is to simplify the construction laws which will reduce construction administration complexity and to increase productivity of construction works. Among the construction laws, we must revise mechanical engineers' role because of increasing mechanical system's importance than before. Through this study the author will show the improvement of building service system technology and the quality of construction industry.

  • The aim of this paper is to analysis mechanical system flaw in apartment building service system. From this paper, most mechanical flaws are from design mistake, materials flaw, other engineering construction's negligence of construction execution and careless system operation management. Through this study, the author suggested the way to reduce mechanical flaw, during construction process from drawing survey before execution start to completion of construction.

  • The aim of this paper is to evaluation survey and improvement method of building service system insulation material incombustibility. In Korea, various insulation materials are being used to prevent energy losses. Performance of insulation materials is gradually advanced, and new insulation materials are developed and being used. We don't have prefer test standard of insulation material incombustibility. In this paper we investigate domestic and foreign standard about incombustibility Through the authors will show how we can improve incombustibility test standard in Korea.

  • Currently, in comparison with other architectural estimations, the estimation work regarding building mechanical-service systems is time-consuming, and the process is continuously becoming more difficult because of the increased usage of the attached piping materials such as fittings and hangings in addition to their complicated construction processes. To improve this problem, the Korean authority provides a simple estimation method for the attached-material rate regarding the main piping material, which is the most time-consuming work in the architectural-mechanical estimation. However, to be an applicable method on construction sites, a proper conversion rate of the attached-piping material is still required for the proposed method regarding building usage and working types. Therefore, the purpose of this research is the calculation of the rate of the attached-piping materials such as the fittings and supports through the building of the mechanical-service work types of mechanical rooms, air conditioning, domestic water and hot-water supplies, and the drain-, vent-, and gas-piping work in office buildings that have been designed after 2010.

  • This paper introduces a sensor system based on indoor locations in order to implement the Building Energy Management System. This system consists of a thermopile sensor and an ultrasonic sensor. The sensor module is rotated by $360^{\circ}$ and yawed up-and-down by two electric motors. Therefore, it can simultaneously detect the number and location of the inhabitants in the room. It uses wireless technology to communicate with the building manager or the smart-home server, and it can save electric energy by controlling the lighting system or heating/air conditioning equipment automatically. We also demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed system by applying it to a real environment.

  • Recently, an intelligent service robot is being developed for use in guiding and providing information to visitors about the building at public institutions. The intelligent robot has a sensor at the bottom to recognize its location. Four wheels, which are arranged in the form of a lozenge, support the robot. This robot cannot be operated on uneven ground because its driving parts are attached to its main body that contains the important internal components. Continuous impact with the ground can change the precise positions of the components and weaken the connection between each structural part. In this paper, the design of the suspension system for such a robot is described. The dynamic model of the robot is created, and the driving characteristics of the robot with the designed suspension system are simulated. Additionally, the suspension system is optimized to reduce the impact for the robot components.

Characteristics of Occupational Accidents by Type of Parking Lot

  • Objective: This study aims to analyze occupational accidents of parking lot attendants by parking lot type. Background: Recently, efforts are made to analyze accident characteristics by occupation type targeting the workers engaged in the same work. Method: This study analyzes 303 occupational accidents of parking lot attendants occurring from 2010 to 2012. Parking lots are grouped into two groups according to the work environment. One is public/ground type which comprises road side or open area parking lots and the other is building/mechanical type which comprises a multi-story parking building with connecting ramps and/or mechanical parking system. The characteristics of occupational accidents by parking lot type are analyzed. Results: Accident characteristics showed the difference between public/ground type and building/mechanical type on the size of enterprise, age, gender and work experience of the injured. Also the accident type, source of accident and parts of body affected are different between the two parking lot types. Conclusion and Application: The findings of accident characteristics according to parking lot types can be used as baseline data for establishing systemized preventative policies for occupational accidents of parking lot attendants.

Optimization of the Community Energy Supply System for D-Cube City, Multi Purpose Building (복합건물(D-Cube City) 지역에너지 공급체계 최적화)

  • D-Cube City is a recently completed multi purpose building consisting of four types of facilities; offices, a department store, a hotel, and congregation spaces. A community energy supply system(CES) has been installed to supply this building with electricity, steam, heat, and cold water. The BEMS, building energy management system, is currently being designed to reduce building energy consumption through the efficient operation of the various pieces of building service equipment. In this study the optimal methods for operating the CES of D-Cube City were considered. This system includes three combined heat and power systems, seven steam boilers, two hot water boilers, two absorption chillers, and four turbo chillers, and various other pieces of equipment. In result, the optimal methods of operating the CES for various energy demand levels were obtained along with the seasonal effects on the economic efficiency of the operation. The effect of the amount of energy demanded by the various facility areas on the total energy consumption was also analyzed.

Fuzzy Algorithm for FDD Technique Development of System Multi-Air Conditioner (퍼지 알고리즘을 이용한 시스템 멀티 에어컨의 고장진단 알고리즘 개발)

  • Fault detection and diagnostic (FDD) systems have the potential to reduce equipment downtime, service costs, and utility costs. In this study, model based algorithm and fuzzy algorithm were used to detect and diagnose various fault at System multi-air conditioner. various fault include the Refrigerant Low charging, Fouling of Indoor Heat Exchanger, Fouling of Outdoor Heat Exchanger A experimental verification was conducted in the 6HP System multi-air conditioner on an 8-floor building. Test results showed diagnosis result about 78 $\~$ 90$\%$ for given faults. This Study lays the foundation fur future work on develope the real-time fault detection and diagnosis system for the System multi-air conditioner.
