  • This paper attempts to present a review about simulation of different greenhouse parameters and energy supplying techniques by using building energy simulation, to find out the optimal solution for keeping greenhouse microclimate favorable for the crop production. The objectives of conducting this study were, to describe the various energy systems and techniques used for the greenhouse energy management and efficiency analysis of these technologies by using building energy simulation. We describe different models to understand the behavior of the energy saving technologies with respect to the resources available and different outside climatic conditions. We identified main features of the building energy simulation software, that enable users, to simulate hybrid agricultural building projects by using user defined parameters. At the end of the paper we draw some important concluding remarks on the basis of reviewing all the investigators contributions for the developments of simulation model of agricultural greenhouse energy management, using a building energy simulation software specifically TRNSYS. In conclusion, this paper provides information that TRNSYS have great potential for agricultural buildings energy simulation along with the renewable energy resources and energy saving techniques. This review paper provides aid to greenhouse researcher and energy planner for the future studies of greenhouses energy planning.

  • The building skins are important architectural elements in both functional and aesthetical aspects. This study focuses on developing a responsive facade with autonomous opening and closing behaviors in accordance with environmental conditions and user requirements for natural ventilation for the office building. The pneumatic ETFE panels are applied as the skin materials taking advantage of the efficiency of the inflatable skin of lightness, architectural performance and sustainable material properties. The biomimetic design methodology is taken for its innovative and visionary concept for the facade design. The interpretation of the building facade in analogy to natural organisms delivers functional and aesthetic characters. By exploring the structural movements of the plant pores, the facade control is developed to be autonomous by the parameter values. The facade opening and closing configurations are derived through parametric modeling and visualization programming. Through the application of this study, expected results are to improve user comfort and energy efficiency.

  • At present, in the case of small and medium window manufacturers in South Korea, glazing and window frame manufacturers are divided into separate businesses. However, in the fenestration energy consumption efficiency rating system and the energy-saving design criteria for buildings, the coefficient of overall heat transmission standard for windows is defined by window sets, which integrate glazing and window frames. At most construction sites, windows are constructed by installing separately supplied glass and frames. Research that can integrate the reality and the system is therefore necessary. The present study first investigated and analyzed the on-site situation of the fenestration energy consumption efficiency rating system. According to the results, while overall understanding of the fenestration energy consumption efficiency rating system was high, satisfaction with it was low, and the general practice at construction sites was to use windows assembled on site rather than integrated window systems manufactured at factories, thus making it difficult to confirm that the current rating system was well applied on site. Consequently, the reality of industrial sites must be reviewed and a realistic alternative to the fenestration energy consumption efficiency rating system must be presented instead of focusing on theory.

  • The suggested year round solar air conditioning system has been developed for cooling and heating. In particular, this system focused on cooling and dehumidification and it could reduce a peak time owing to the use of air conditioners in summer. This study was performed to find out how much heating loads could be saved and furthermore whether this suggested system would be possible to do heating without a switch of system in real situations. Through model house experiments, the following conclusions were obtained. 1) The collector efficiency was 36% at maximum, but more improved structure of suggested collector could increase its efficiency. 2) The temperature of outlet air was about $30^{\circ}C$ and it could reduce heating loads. 3) Measured temperature and calculated one agreed well within ${\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$.

  • Regarding greenhouse gas reduction, BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) is an important technology that can generate its own power in urban buildings based on clean energy resources. In particular, the perovskite material is attracting attention as a BIPV solar cell because it can have various colors and transparency. However, it is not easy to increase both transparency and efficiency factors because solar cell transparency and efficiency are inversely related to each other. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a semi-transparent perovskite solar cell structure that can improve both transparency and efficiency, and evaluate the stability according to international standard.

In this study, estimated to compared with double glazing, low-e glazing, IP(Insulation Paint) and IPu(Insulation UV-Cut Paint) coating glazing. As a result of this study, 1)heating & cooling load Analysis, SHGC value and U-factor of double glazing is about 0.70 and 3.29($W/m^2K$). low-E glazing is about 0.65 and 2.70($W/m^2K$). Two-side it is about 0.27 and 3.25($W/m^2K$). When compared to double glazing, annual heating & cooling load of low-E glazing, Two-side IPu and IP paint coating glazing is 3,012MWh($124kWh/m^2$), 2,910MWh($120kWh/m^2$), 2,867MWh($118.4kWh/m^2$) and 2,867MWh($118.4kWh/m^2$). It i sreduced to 2.0%, 5.2%, 6.7%, and 6.7% respectively. 2)the estimation of economic efficiency, low-e glazing installed in office building can not recover the investment within a lifetime 40years. but IPu and IP paint, two-side coating in glazing, have a payback period of 13 years respectively.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the Life Cycle Cost(LCC) of three types of RTPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic) systems-Glass plus Granite. Crystalline BIPV and See through Amorphous BIPV-which were vertically installed to generate the same power output(76 kW level). Initial investment costs. cost. savings and maintenance costs had been predicted during the period of analysing the LCC of three types of BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic) systems installed for the purpose of evaluating the LCC. In case of cost savings, it had been analyzed by measuring the amount of electric power generated, reduction in lighting load and heat & cooling loads through simulation. From this analysis, it was predicted that the See-through amorphous BIPV offering cost saving advantages demonstrated the economical efficiency similar to the Class plus Granite when it is backed by more than 20 years of durability.

  • Cool roofs are currently being emerged as one of important mechanism to save energy in relation to the building. It is specifically proposed that the changing trends of rooftop surface temperature in the flat roof building model could be used effectively as an indicator to reduced cooling load reduced by cool roof since it can present stable temperature record, that is not influenced according to the nearby physical as well as human variables. The temperature of cool roof in summer was lower around $20^{\circ}C$, compared to the general roofs. Such a seasonal or daily comparative study for rooftop temperature in the building model will highlight that the cool roof efficiency could be calculated in much area-wide context according to rooftop color distribution in urban residential area. It is anticipated that this research output could be used as a valuable reference in identifying energy saving by cool roof since an objective monitoring has been proposed based on the rooftop temperature in the building model, fully quantitative performance of thermal infrared image.
