Improving Subtitle Design of Mobile Broadcast (휴대방송에서 나타난 방송자막 디자인 개선 방향)

  • This research aimed at providing the direction for future improvement of broadcast subtitle design by identifying the user perception on broadcast subtitles of Terrestrial DMB. First, we contemplated on the existing research about broadcast subtitles. As a result, we found out that broadcast subtitle plays an essential role when watching a program and that the minimization of letters, clear fonts and color arrangement, rearrangement of components were identified as main factors that increase readability. However, the terrestrial DMB user evaluation on image quality, composition, color and brightness was not that positive. In addition, the evaluation on the readability of broadcast subtitle, information transmission, subtitle composition, letter font, number and size of letter was more negative. Developing a subtitle design which considers user convenience and suits terrestrial DMB screens in aspects of broadcast subtitle form and composition, limit of information, clearness and size of the letter is required.

  • 스트리밍 서버의 대역폭 부담으로 인해 멀티캐스트 스트리밍이 개발되었지만 이는 서비스제공자가 정한 일정에 따라 일방적으로 방송을 청취하게 된다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해 Partitioned Broadcast를 통해 VCR기능을 제공하는 연구가 진행되었다. 그러나 기존의 방법은 전체 네트웍의 트래픽을 많이 사용하게 되는 문제점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 Partitioned Broadcast Streamer의 개념을 제시하고 이를 구현해 봄으로서 전체 네트웍의 대역폭을 절약하면서 멀티캐스트 라이브 스트림상에서 VCR기능을 제공할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

Public key broadcast encryption scheme using new converting method

  • Broadcast encryption is a cryptographical primitive which is designed for a content provider to distribute contents to only privileged qualifying users through an insecure channel. Anyone who knows public keys can distribute contents by means of public key broadcast encryption whose technique can also be applicable to many other applications. In order to design public key broadcast encryption scheme, it should devise some methods that convert a broadcast encryption scheme based on symmetric key cryptosystem to a public key broadcast encryption. Up to this point, broadcast encryption scheme on trial for converting from symmetric key setting to asymmetric public key setting has been attempted by employing the Hierarchical Identity Based Encryption (HIBE) technique. However, this converting method is not optimal because some of the properties of HIBE are not quite fitting for public key broadcast schemes. In this paper, we proposed new converting method and an efficient public key broadcast encryption scheme Pub-PI which is obtained by adapting the new converting method to the PI scheme [10]. The transmission overhead of the Pub-PI is approximately 3r, where r is the number of revoked users. The storage size of Pub-PI is O($c^2$), where c is a system parameter of PI and the computation cost is 2 pairing computations.

  • TV businesses that have brought a competitive structure in terms of price, definition, product design for a long time now are bringing User eXperience (UX) into relief as DTVs come to support broadcast information-related services such as various broadcast channels and Electronic Program Guide(EPG), etc., and playing of multimedia contents like music/videos, etc. This study worked on an evaluation by developing a UI to control easily the various and complex broadcast contents or multimedia contents provided by DTVs. The UI Design for new DTVs was developed based on Function, Flow and Form in the concept of Single ABC (Access, Browser and Control), and the usability test of the developed UI concept along with the UIs of the major DTV products, was done for Channel Managers and the multimedia browsers for 32 users of DTVs in the U.K./U.S., respectively. As a result of the usability test, the new concept of Channel Manager was evaluated high both in the U.K./U.S, while the multimedia browser was evaluated low in the U.S., relatively.

  • The study investigated the users' functional requirement, degree of acceptance and preference of game broadcast real-time review .Secondly it comparatively analyzed the types and locations of game broadcast real-time review through eye tracking tech. The results show that users have high functional requirements and high acceptance for game broadcast real-time review but their preference has no significant correlation with the feature. Among the types of game broadcast real-time review the type with translucent text bubble took the highest visual attention. The above shows that the users' visual behavior has the tendency of special style. The visual attention analysis results of different types and locations of game broadcast real-time review in the study can play a guiding role in the interface design of real-time review feature in the future.

  • In this paper, we propose to characteristics of mobile phone dance live broadcast platform and the second-generation technology acceptance model TAM2, this paper established the user acceptance model of mobile phone dance live broadcast platform, aiming to study the influencing factors of users' acceptance on mobile phone dance live broadcast platform. Based on the empirical analysis of user survey, the model is validated, and the relationship between variables in the model is clarified. It is also confirmed that human-computer interaction, scene interaction, relationship interaction and other factors will affect the user's acceptance on mobile phone dance live broadcast platform. At the same time, based on the relationship among variables obtained in the research, this paper tries to analyze how the variables affect each other based on the actual practice of mobile phone dance live broadcast platform. In addition, the video design strategy and marketing strategy for further development of mobile phone dance live broadcast platform are given to help the platform and dance creators to carry out better promotion on the mobile side. In the end, this paper summarizes the shortcomings of this study and points out further research directions in the future, providing a reference for researchers in the field of mobile phone dance live broadcast platform acceptance.

  • In this paper, we design and implementation of effective integrated broadcast contents transmission System based on single server system. Because of previous broadcast contents transmission system is consist of various individual functional equipment. And it is not easy to use and not effective to manage for broadcast contents transmission. In this paper, we evaluated and analysed of developed system in the test environment. As a result of performance test, It showed that it was well performed without any data error in the performance test, and It showed that it was well managed, controled, scheduled, processed of the integrated broadcast contents transmission environment.

  • E-commerce live broadcast is a new online shopping model that has gradually emerged in China in recent years. In the e-commerce live broadcast, the audience gathered into a buying group by watching and participating in virtual interaction, and obtained stable emotional energy from it. Closely following the concept of emotional energy, with the help of the interaction ritual chain model, the components of e-commerce live broadcast can be clarified. And the paper shows how individuals can form a buying group in social interaction. I will take the interaction behavior in e-commerce live broadcast as the research object and observe the phenomenon based on the theory of interaction ritual, then come up with the interaction ritual chain model of E-commerce live broadcast group.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm and a hardware architecture for a broadcast communication which has the worst bottleneck among multiprocessor using distributed memory architectures. In conventional system, The pipelined broadcast algorithm is an algorithm which takes advantage of maximum bandwidth of communication bus. But unnecessary synchronization process are repeated, because the pipelined broadcast sends the data divided into many parts. In this paper, the MPI unit for pipeline chain algorithm based on circuit switching removing the redundancy of synchronization process was designed, the proposed architecture was evaluated by modeling it with systemC. Consequently, the performance of the proposed architecture was highly improved for broadcast communication up to 3.3 times that of systems using conventional pipelined broadcast algorithm, it can almost take advantage of the maximum bandwidth of transmission bus. Then, it was implemented with VerilogHDL, synthesized with TSMC 0.18um library and implemented into a chip. The area of synthesis results occupied 4,700 gates(2 input NAND gate) and utilization of total area is 2.4%. The proposed architecture achieves improvement in total performance of MPSoC occupying relatively small area.

  • In this paper, we reviewed the method on the codec-agnostic design of MPEG V-PCC. The codec-agnostic approach designed V-PCC can use any video codec for compression. Thus, adoption with other codecs beside HEVC has not been systematically discussed. Through the analysis of the design issues that related to MPEG EVC and JPEG. We provided a strategy on choosing and targeting different video codecs for V-PCC.
