This paper proposes a priority-based duplicate burst transmission mechanism in an optical burst switching network to enhance the probability of successful reception of bursts. The performance of the proposed mechanism is evaluated by NS2 simulations. Our results show that the burst loss rate is improved especially under light traffic loads.

A novel approach to general linearly constrained adaptive arrays is presented to improve the nulling performance in coherent and noncoherent environments. The narrowband and broadband linearly constrained adaptive arrays are implemented to examine the array performance. It is shown that the proposed approach performs better than the conventional adaptive arrays and the nulling performance depends on the gain factor for the desired response.

In this paper, a broadband sleeve monopole antenna using a loading coil in sleeve is proposed. The antenna of the proposed structure has the same of the single sleeve monopole antenna, except for using the coil instead of the inner conductor in sleeve. As a result, it is found that the bandwidth is 1.239～2.154 GHz(above 53.9%) for S$\sub$11/=-10dB(VSWR<2), and the antenna impedance is good for a communication system and feeder which the impedance has 50$\Omega$.

본 논문에서는 PCS(Personal Communication Service) 및 IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunications - 2000) 단말기용 광대역 PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna)를 설계하였다. 일반적인 PIFA 구조의 단점인 협대역 특성을 개선하기 위하여 dual-L 안테나 구조를 사용하였고, 안테나의 크기를 효율적으로 줄이기 위하여 접힌 구조의 방사 패치를 가지는 변형된 dual-L 안테나를 제안하였다. 설계 제작된 안테나의 -10 ㏈ 대역폭은 1.66∼2.35 ㎓(34.5%)로 PCS 및 IMT-2000 대역을 모두 만족하는 결과를 얻었다. 그리고, 인체 쪽으로의 전자파 흡수율을 알아보기 위해 제안된 안테나와 동일 주파수 대역에서 동작하는 모노폴 안테나를 설계한 후 SAR 값을 비교한 결과, 제안한 안테나의 1 g 및 10 g 평균 첨두 SAR 값은 모노폴 안테나보다 25.7%, 30.3 % 정도 낮게 나타났다.

802.16e에 기반한 OFDMA 물리층 분석을 위한 분석 장비 개발에 있어, 하드웨어 구성 및 신호 특성 분석 알고리즘에 관한 방법론에 대해 기술하고 구현결과를 분석한다. 최근 디지털 통신 신호의 발달과 함께 이를 분석하는 계측기의 신호분석에 대한 수요도 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 신호분석에 대한 수요의 급속한 증가에 따라 광대역 디지털 신호처리 모듈을 이용한 광대역통신 신호 특성 분석이 가능한 신호분석 장비를 개발하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 광대역통신 신호 특성 분석이 가능한 장비를 고안하기 위하여 첫째, OFDMA의 기본이론을 학습하고, 둘째 OFDMA 송/수신기 구조를 검토하였으며 셋째, 광대역 디지타이져를 구현하였다. 광대역 통신기법 중 OFDMA에 기반한 Wimax 신호분석 알고리즘을 설계하여 I, Q신호를 통한 Wimax 물리층 분석 SW구현을 제안하였다. IF다운 컨버터는 스펙트럼 분석기의 수신 모듈 및 LO발생 모듈을 이용하였으며, I, Q 데이터에 의한 WiMAX 신호분석 알고리즘을 통해 정량적 분석결과를 도출 하였다.

We have developed an MPEG2 realtime codec system and ATM interface, and evaluated the performance and characteristics of the audio-visual communication in terms of Interoperability specification of The ATM Forum, ITU-T H.310 draft recommendation [1] and the reference points of DAVIC specification through the experiments using the experimental public ATM network.

For broadband high-data-rate power line communication with the allocated frequency bandwidth from 2 to 30 MHz on medium voltage (MV) distribution power lines, a signal coupling unit is developed. The coupling unit is composed of a coupling capacitor for coupling communication signal, a drain coil, and an impedance matching part. The coupling capacitor made of ceramic capacitor is designed for transmission property of better than 1 dB in the frequency range. The drain coil is used for preventing low frequency high voltage from junction of medium voltage power line in case that a coupling capacitor is not working properly any more. Also, using ferrite core, a novel broadband impedance matching transformer is developed. A complete coupling unit with a coupling capacitor, a drain coil, and a matching transformer is housed by polymer for good isolation and distinguishing from high voltage electric facilities. Each is fabricated and its frequency behavior is tested. Finally, complete signal couplers are equipped in a MV PLC test bed and their performance are measured. The measurement shows that the coupling capacitor works excellently.

The home network is the technique to guarantee a safe, economical, socially integrated, and healthy life to the family and it provides domestic safety, instrument control, controllable energy and health monitoring by the connection of the home appliances using wired and wireless networks. A home control system has been developed for managing and controlling home appliances. This paper designs the broadband PLC home controller using broadband PLC technology which can save much cost at a network infrastructure using the existing power line at a home and design the USB home controller using USB technology which is low cost and has many goods with it. And the embedded home server manages those. The CDMA module provides mobile functions to the home control system in this paper. And we choose the OSGi specification which is compatible with other home middleware and can accept various communication techniques of home network
