  • Indium tin oxide (ITO) was used as the top anode of top emission inverted organic light emitting diodes (TEIOLEDs). TEIOLEDs were fabricated by deposition of an aluminum bottom cathode, an N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1, 1'-diphenyl-4, 4 1'-diamine (TPD) hole transport layer, a tris-8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum ($Alq_3$) emission layer, and an ITO top anode sequentially. ITO was deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering without $O_2$ flow during the deposition. After the deposition, the deposited ITO layer was kept under oxygen atmosphere for the oxidation. The characteristics of the TEOILED were affected significantly by the post-deposition oxidation condition.

  • Previously, we have identified 14 putative downstream target genes of Hoxc8 homeoprotein in F9 murine embryonic teratocarcinoma cells through proteomics analysis. Among those, we tested a possibility of a DNA-k type molecular chaperone, Grp78, as a direct downstream target of Hoxc8, by cloning a 2.4 kb upstream region of murine Grp78 into a reporter plasmid and by testing if Hoxc8 can regulate its expression. We observed that Hoxc8 proteins could transactivate the reporter gene, which was affected by small interference RNAs (siRNAs) against to Hoxc8, suggesting that Grp78 is a novel downstream target of Hoxc8 in vivo.

  • Nanotube morphology change of Ti-Ta-Zr alloy as Zr content increase has been researched using various experimental methods. Ti-Ta-Zr(3, 7 and 15 wt%) alloys were prepared by arc melting and nano-structure controlled for 24 hr at $1000^{\circ}C$ in argon atmosphere. Formation of oxide nanotubes are conducted by anodizing a Ti-Ta-Zr alloy in $H_3PO_4$ electrolytes with small amounts of fluoride ions at room temperature. Electrochemical experiments were carried out with conventional three-electrode configuration with a platinum counter electrode and a saturated calomel reference electrode. The samples were embedded with epoxy resin, leaving a square surface area of $10mm^2$ exposed to the anodizing electrolyte, 1.0M $H_3PO_4$ containing 0.8wt% NaF.

  • The development of methods for the inert and stable radiohalogenation of targeted radiopharmaceuticals is a prerequisite for real-time diagnosis and therapy using radiohalogenated radiopharmaceuticals. Radiohalogenated carboranes demonstrate superior stability in vivo and versatile applications compared with directly labeled tyrosine analogues or synthetically modified organic compounds. Herein, we focus on the most common approaches for the radioiodination (123l, 124l, 125l, and 131l) of carborane derivatives.
