Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 열간성형공정에 대한 계면열전달계수의 결정 (Determination of the interface heat transfer coefficient for hot-forming process of Ti-6Al-4V)

  • The interface heat transfer coefficient was measured for non-isothermal bulk forming of Ti-6Al-4V. FE analysis and experiments were conducted. Equipment consisting of AISI H13 die was instrumented with thermocouples located at sub-surface of the bottom die. Die temperature changes were investigated in related to the process variables such as reduction, lubricant and initial die temperature. The calibration approach based on heat conduction and FE analysis using an inverse algorithm were used to evaluate the interface heat transfer between graphite-lubricated die and glass-coated workpiece. The coefficients determined determined were affected mainly by the contact pressure. The validation of the coefficients was made by the comparison between experimental data and FE analysis results.

  • Microstructural characteristics of Al-3.63wt.%Pb hyper-monotectic alloy rapidly-solidified by melt spinning were examined. Possibility of forming a planar liquid -solid interface during rapid solidification of this alloy was also considered with a morphological stability theory, and a mechanism of forming banded structure observed at the bottom parts of melt-spinned specimens was considered as well. Application of the absolute stability criterion predicts the liquid-solid interface of the primary aluminium phase to be able to maintain a planar interface during the early stage of rapid solidification. Formation of banded structure was supposed to be resulted from the release of latent heat during solidification, which affect the stability of a planar liquid-solid interface.

  • The cold precision forging of spur gears has been researched, and the effects of relief-hole shape and forging process on the spur gears forming has been analyzed. The results present that the forging load decreases when a suitability diameter of relief-hole is chosen, but the function is not obvious. The spur gears precision forging method with an adjustable movement of concave mould can benefit both the top and the bottom comers forming of the spur gears, full fill the tooth cavity, and decrease the forging load.

등방성 강판의 자동차용 Roof Panel 부품 적용 특성 해석 (FE Analysis for Application of Isotropic Steel Sheet on Auto-Roof Panel)

  • The isotropic steel sheet was developed and started to apply on the auto-body outer panel, however the characteristics of application on auto-body were not well known. In this paper the FE analysis of outer panel of auto-body was carried out to investigate the characteristics of isotropic steel sheet. For the FE analysis of the roof panel of ULSAB body the isotropic steel sheet and the bake hardening steel sheet were used. The Isotropic steel sheet shows more deformation at punch bottom area of roof panel than the bake hardening steel sheet that is most required forming properties far outer panel to obtain the shape likability of forming parts. It is shown that the isotropic steel sheet has suitable material properties far outer panels of auto-body.

  • Two shot molding is one of the injection method which uses two materials or two color materials simultaneously in one mold. Two shot molding is good rate of productivity and economical because of no extra-progress necessary. The cowl grille is located in the bottom of wind shield glass and rolls as a passage of air inlet to inside of vehicle. It consists of body and seal. Firstly, the body is injected with PP. Next seal is extruded with EPDM and engineered and then assembled with body. These procedures lead high cost of production and the quality of part has problems. Therefore, it has effects on saving production cost and being a solution of the quality problems with the development of two shot molding cowl grille. It is guaranteed that two shot molding will be widely used in the vehicle parts industry afterwards.

  • Plasma Display Panel(PDP) is a type of flat panel display utilizing the light emission produced by gas discharge. Barrier Ribs of PDP separating each sub-pixel prevents optical and electrical crosstalks from adjacent sub-pixels. The mold for forming the barrier ribs has been newly researched to overcome the disadvantages of conventional manufacturing processes such as screen printing, sand-blasting and photosensitive glass methods. The mold for PDP barrier ribs have stripes of micro grooves transferring glass-material wall. In this paper, Stripes of grooves of which width 48${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, depth 124$\mu\textrm{m}$ , pitch 274$\mu\textrm{m}$ was acquired by machining of single crystal silicon with dicing saw blade. Maximum roughness of the bottom of the grooves was 59.6nm Ra in grooving Si. Barrier ribs were formed with silicone rubber mold, which is transferred from grooved Si forming hard mold. Silicone rubber mold has the elasticity, which enable to accommodate the waveness of lower glass plate of PDP. The methods assisted by the microwave and UV was adopted for reducing the forming time of glass paste.

  • Warm forming technology was classified into hot gas forming of using compressible fluid as a nitrogen gas and warm hydroforming of using the incompressible fluid as a thermal oil by using medium fluid. In this study, the aluminum side-rail part was developed with warm hydroforming technology. For the warm hydroforming system, top and bottom die was designed to insert heating cartridge in die cavity and special indirect fluid heating system was designed to heat the thermal oil. As increase the temperature, hydroformability was increased linearly. Aluminum side-rail center part was formed 90% at the internal pressure of 100bar and perfectly formed at 300bar within a moderate temperature. The tube material used for warm hydroforming was a aluminum 6000 series alloy with the diameter of 120mm, thickness of 5mm, length of 1,300mm. Warm hydroformed side-rail center part had 20% of maximum expansion ratio and below 20% of maximum thinning ratio at corner radius. This results were provided to show warm hydroforming possibility for aluminum automotive components.

유한요소법을 이용한 하수슬러지 소각재의 인공경량골재 제조시 압출성형해석 (The Numerical Analysis of Extrusion Forming on the Manufactured Artificial Lightweight Aggregate Made of Incinerated Sewage Sludge Ash by a Finite Element Method)

  • The main objective of this research was to evaluate the effects of process variables which were forming ability, flow displacement, effective stress, effective strain, fluid vector and products defects on manufactured artificial lightweight aggregate made of both incinerated sewage sludge ash and clay by means of the numerical analysis of a rigid-plastic finite element method. CATIA (3D CAD program) was used for an extrusion metal mold design that was widely used in designing aircraft, automobile and metallic molds. A metal forming analysis program (ATES Co.) had a function of a rigid-plastic finite element method was used to analyze the program. The result of extrusion forming analysis indicated clearly that a shape retention of the manufactured artificial light-weight aggregate could be maintained by increasing the extrusion ratio (increasing compressive strength inside of extrusion die) and decreasing the die angle. The stress concentration of metal mold was increased by increasing an extrusion ratio, and it was higher in a junction of punch and materials, friction parts between a bottom of the punch and inside of a container, a place of die angle and a place of die of metal mold. Therefore, a heat treatment as well as a rounding treatment for stress distribution in the higher stress concentration regions were necessary to extend a lifetime of the metallic mold. A deformity of the products could have made from several factors which were a surface crack, a lack of the shape retention and a crack of inside of the products. Specially, the surface crack in the products was the most notably affected by the extrusion ratio.

저회의 계면 화학적 특성 규명 (Characterization of interfacial chemistry on the coal bottom ash)

  • 화력발전소에서 발생하는 석탄회의 일종인 저회는 현재 적절한 재활용 방법이 연구 되지 않아 대부분 매립에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 비가소성 분체인 저회의 재활용율을 높이며, 저회를 점토 대체 원료로 재활용하기 위하여 저회와 점토의 계면화학적 성질을 조절하여 Bottom-ash(B/A)-Hard Clay(H/C) 소지의 물성변화를 관찰하였다. H/C 100 %, H/C60 % + B/A40 %에 대하여 각 조성별 pH에 따른 침강높이를 관찰한 결과 점토와 저회는 계면 화학적 성질이 비슷하여 혼합하여 슬립제조 시 hetero-polar 응집현상이 없었다. 또한 각 조성별 점도가 조절된 Slip을 주입 성형하여 $1100{\sim}1250^{\circ}C$에서 $50^{\circ}C$ 간격으로 소결하여 각 시편에 대한 비중, 흡수율을 측정하고 미세구조를 관찰하였다. 그 결과 분산된 점토와 저회 슬립은 Bingham 가소성 거동을 보이므로 주입성형 및 가소성형이 가능하며, 분산된 점토와 저회 슬립으로부터제조된 소결체는 $1250^{\circ}C$에서 KSL 4201과 KSL 1001의 규격을 만족할 뿐 아니라 특히 비중이 약 15 % 이상 경량이므로 도자기나 위생도기 등의 소지로 응용 가능성이 있다고 사료된다.
