  • In this Paper, the effect of stage ceiling height on the acoustic characteristics of rectangular concert halls are investigated. To find out the acoustic properties of audience area, A simple Boston Symphony Hall(BSH) model which is typically rectangular shaped was applied for computer simulation. A newly built rectangular concert hall with 400 seats was also chosen for a scale model $(1.2m{\times}0.68m{\times}0.31m)$ study and its computer simulation varing the stage ceiling height and the volume. The results show that RT increased as the stage ceiling was lowered and the difference rate of RT by its variance is from -0.09 to -0.06[sec/m].

  • The aim of this report was to show the effects of acupotomy in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Four patients were treated with acupotomy twice. Visual analogue scale (VAS), Tinel's sign, Phalen's test, Boston carpal tunnel syndrome questionnaire (BCTQ), muscular strength test, and a cross-sectional area of median nerve was measured using ultrasound before and after treatment. In all 4 cases, the VAS score, BCTQ score and cross-sectional area of median nerve, all decreased and muscular strength test score increased. Tinel's sign and the Phalen's test changed from a positive to a negative in most cases. This report shows that acupotomy is an effective treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome. Further larger are needed to fully evaluate the beneficial effects of this treatment.

  • On this study, we extracted pending problem and controversial point from management of disaster such as terror for domestic massive performance and then, investigated countermeasure plan against disaster for massive performance through comparison and analysis between anti-disaster strategy of Korea and U.S. U.S are conducting security system actively for passenger of major facilities such as public institution. Nonetheless, In U.S that has the world's best security system, serious affair such as 911 terror and Boston marathon terror are continued to happen. When considering domestic situation that North Korea and South Korea are antagonistic to each other, it is judged when it is high time to prepare for threat of terrorism. Accordingly, On this study, through analyzing of latest terror attacks in U.S and disaster risk in the nation, we analyzed in detail countermeasure plan classified as legislation, operation of security system, instilling a sense. As the result of this analyzing, using by flow-chart, we suggested domestic optimized disaster management system for massive performance. Consequently, we propose to establish systematized disaster management system such as preliminary survey of disaster influence for massive performance.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Quality of Nursing Work Life (QNWL-K) scale. The scale measures the reported quality of the nurse' work life among Korean nurses. Methods: The QNWL-K was developed through forward-backward translation techniques. An internal consistency reliability and construct validity using exploratory analysis were conducted using SPSS/WIN (21.0). Survey data were collected from 309 nurses who worked in two tertiary hospitals, four general hospitals, and two hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi, South Korea. Results: Factor analysis results of the revised QWNL-K demonstrated that it has a four-factor structure (work context, support systems for home/work life, work design, and staffing) that supports construct validity. Factor loadings of the 36 items ranged from .30~.77. The QNWL-K showed reliable internal consistency from Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for the total scale of .93. Conclusion: The findings support that the QNWL-K has satisfactory construct validity and is a reliable measure of nursing work life in Korea.

  • This paper describes a novel MEMS integration technique on a CMOS chip. MEMS integration on CMOS circuit has many advantages in view of manufacturing cost and reliability. The surface topography of a CMOS chip from a commercial foundry has 0.9 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ bumps due to the conformal coating on aluminum interconnect patterns, which are used for addressing each MEMS element individually. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve a flat mirror-like CMOS chip fer the microelectromechanical system (MEMS) such as micro mirror array. Such CMOS chip needs an additional thickness of the dielectric passivation layer to ease the subsequent planarization process. To overcome a temperature limit from the aluminum thermal degradation, this study uses RF sputtering of silicon nitride at low temperature and then polishes the CMOS chip together with the surrounding dummy pieces to define a polishing plane. Planarization reduces 0.9 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of the bumps to less than 25 nm.

  • Objective: Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the most common upper extremity compressive nerve disorders in modern people. Various conservative treatments such as taping, exercise, and electrotherapy have been applied to carpal tunnel syndrome and their effectiveness has been proven. This study aims to determine whether home exercise combined with taping is effective for pain and functional disability in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Design: Randomized controlled study Methods: 21 patients were recruited and were randomly divided into HEx+T (Home exercise+taping) group (n=10) and HEx (Home exercise) group (n=11). All participants performed Home exercise(tendon and neural gliding exercise) 5 times a week for 6 weeks. Additionally, subject in the HEx group, taping was applied over the wrist and forearm during the training period. Wrist pain was measured by VAS (Visual Analogue Scale). Functional disability was measured using a BCTSQ(The Boston Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questionnaire). Results: Both the HEx+T group and the HEx group showed a significant improvement in wrist pain(p<0.05), and the HEx+T group showed a more significant decrease in pain than the HEx group(p<0.05). There was a significant improvement in both groups in functional disability (p<0.05), and the HEX+T group showed more improvement than the HEX group(p<0.05). Conclusions: This study suggests that home exercise combined with taping is effective for pain and functional disability in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome.

  • CTA 102, one of gamma-ray bright active galactic nuclei (AGN) has been observed with Korean very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) network (KVN) during the period of 2012 December-2018 May as part of interferometric Monitoring Of Gamma-ray Bright AGN (iMOGABA). Multi-frequency VLBI observations enable us to compare the milliarcsecond(mas)-scale iMOGABA images of relativistic jets with those from the Monitoring Of Jets in AGN with Very long baseline array (VLBA) Experiments (MOJAVE) and the VLBA-Boston University(BU)-BLAZAR programs which use VLBA with its angular resolutions of 0.2-1.3 mas. In spite of the relative larger beam sizes of KVN (1-10 mas), we are able to identify jet components of CTA 102 using the KVN multi-frequency VLBI observations with those resolved with VLBA. Considering an instrumental beam blending effect on the jet component identification, we were able to obtain a blending shift of the core position based on a convolution analysis using the VLBA data. When we apply the core position shift to the KVN images of CTA 102, we find that the identified jet components of CTA 102 from the KVN observations are well matched with those from the VLBA observations. Based on the results of the analysis, we may be able to study the jet kinematics and its correlation with gamma-ray flare activity.
