This article examines magical realism in contemporary european film, which is considered to be one of the most popular styles in the present culture, with regards to Antonio Negri's theory of art. Magical realism is "alternative approach to reality" (Maggie Ann Bowers, Magic(al) Realism) and defined as "a fictional technique that combines fantasy with raw physical reality or social reality in a search for truth beyond that available from the surface of everyday life" (Joan Mellen, Magic Realism). The term of Magic Realism was coined in 1923 by Franz Roh, German art historian, as the concept for the post-expressionist painting in Germany. It has flourished in the Latin-American literature during the 1950s to 1980s and spread worldwide. Since 1980s magical realism is considered to be a universal artistic mode. Since 1990s magical realism is to find in the various novels, and since 2000 one encounters magical realism in the cinema very often. Antonio Negri writes about the relationship between life, imagination, art and the political in his book Art et Multitude. According to Negri, the hard life of people in the present society liberates the imagination and this creates the art as "the excess of the existence". In this process the aesthetic becomes to the political. Negri calls this space of art as "magical time and space". Claire Denis' film Vendredi Soir is analyzed as a contemporary magic realist text, which realizes Negri's concept of art: vendredi soir (friday night) in Vendredi Soir is the magical time, when the impossible becomes the possible, and paris in the public transportation strike is the magical space, where the individuals meet the other in a new situation. The film analysis associates itself with Negri's theory of art: in Vendredi Soir, it is to see, that the excess of the existence liberates imagination and creates the magic reality both in the movements of things and the human relationship. The phenomenon of magical realism in contemporary culture can be understood as the symptom of the emotional and existential pains of contemporary people in the current world. The contemporaneity of the magical realism can be read in the film as "the metaphor for contemporary thought" (Alain Badiou, Cinema). As Antonio Negri writes, art can become "the aesthetic redemption" (Negri, Art et Multitude) for us. At the same time "(t)his is where aesthetics can be transformed into the political." This paper analyzes the art theory of Giorgio Vasari, the author of Le Vite de più eccellenti architetti, pittori, et scultori italiani, da Cimabue insino a' tempi nostri, which is considered the world's most important book on art history. Le Vite established a new status for artists and art works by containing facts, knowledge, and criticisms about approximately 200 Renaissance artists, as well as interesting facts that have been handed down to the world. In addition, by describing the sociocultural environment surrounding art, it established itself as a place for standardizing the language of art history. Therefore, Le Vite has a status as a compilation of art theories that describe the successive context of Renaissance art history and the major terms invented, as well as its own ontological value. Accordingly, this paper examines the formation background and each meaning of the core concepts of Renaissance art theory proposed by Vasari through Le Vite. The terms such as disegno and fantasia, and Vasari's position on paragone, which are discussed in the main text of this paper, are the result of a long debate that took place during the Renaissance in the 15th and 16th centuries. Vasari's art theory leads to the universal acceptance that all arts are equal and 'sisters' with a common purpose. In this process, Vasari's Le Vite functioned as a historical testimony to the intellectualization process of art. It also exerted a strong influence on the humanistic education system of Europe and participated in the cultural function of society and citizens.
From the Darwinian perspective, all the human behaviors and thoughts are operated by "the selfish gene," the term coined by Richard Dawkins, which has long been evolving to survive by utilizing the limited quality and quantity of resources. And an organism which fails to regenerate by creating its "replicator" is doomed to extinction, for gene combinations which help an organism to survive and reproduce tend to also improve the gene's own chances of being passed on through generations. Dawkins also coins the term "meme" for a unit of human cultural evolution analogous to the gene, suggesting that such selfish replication may also be the principle for human culture. Ian McEwan is not only a controversial but more importantly influential writer in the 21st century academic world. His 1997 book Enduring Love is not exceptional in that it draws both literary and scientific attention. Intentionally set up with the dynamic conflict between the two cultures, namely art and science, the book explores the way in which the state of the modern minds is misinterpreted and estranged by each other. In this novel, the three main protagonists, Joe, Clarissa, and Jed, each representing the very important three elements of human civilization-cognition/science, emotion/art, and faith/religion-meet an unexpected peril of life. The author of the novel employs the narrative of evolutionary science-in particular the narratives of gene and meme-to provoke the question of the two cultures famously addressed by Snow in the mid 20th century and the further discussions followed by the later Darwinian scholars such as Richard Dawkins. In this paper I aim to illustrate the way in which the author develops the idea of gene science and literature and how he proceeds to provide a sophisticated bridge between the two cultures and induce a kind of consilience by the recurrent name of love in the story of Enduring Love.
This paper is written to introduce and review Shinji Matsunaga's The Aesthetics of Video Games which published in Japan in 2018. Shinji Matsunaga has studied video games from a philosophical and aesthetic perspective. In The Aesthetics of Video Games, he took video games as a hybrid form of traditional games. Shinji Matsunaga particularly notes that video games can design human behaviors and experiences. From this point of view, he tries to construct a theoretical framework that will be able to describe the ways of signification in games and fiction respectively. In previous studies, video games have been mainly discussed in the context of cultural studies and entertainment culture in Japan. The Aesthetics of Video Games is distinguished from the previous studies in the following points. First, The Aesthetics of Video Games pioneered the method of studying video games in art theory. Second, it established various types of relationships with video games and traditional aesthetic concepts. Third, this book connects new concepts that emerged in the age of artificial intelligence to video games as an aesthetic action. Through this work, not only video games were discussed academically, but also the fields of aesthetics and art were expanded. The Aesthetics of Video Game is like a collection of philosophical concepts for video games. Through this book, it can be said that the path for artificial intelligence to approach human secrets is closer than before.

What is an exhibition? Is it of the system which is designed to serve Art Works in their representation, or is it a place where the artistic presentation could be considered as art work itself? After modernist era, the role of exhibitional space might have been shifted from those two principle raison d'$\^{e}$tre of exhibitional space into another, a new one. What Deleuze would call it as he borrowed the term from Spinozian philosophy : the Affectional Space. This new type of exhibitional space has been announced since 1969 when a Harald Szeeman, young independent curator and art critic from Swiss, has organized his brilliant exhibition "When Attitudes become Form" in Bern. For sure, these intensities in curatorial practices have been existing before like some early 20th century exhibitional efforts by Marcel Duchamp, El Lissitzky, Yve Klein, etc. It has influenced much on many of, otherwise most of contemporary art exhibiting practices. And now it seems to be necessary to give it a conceptual idea which could enlighten better the new paradigm of exhibitional practices that we try to clarify. I would propose the idea of that new exhibitional space as "space of non-organic becoming". This idea is inspired by Deleuze's ever famous philosophical work Thousand Plateaus, which, with Folds by the same author, has contributed to many contemporary and aesthetical debating issues. What is "affect"? Explaining about Spinoza's principle concepts, Deleuze defines it as a kind of durations or variations which are constituted by different levels of perfection. One perfection is precedented or followed by certain perfection bigger or lesser through lived transitions or passages. So each time it actualizes and reflects the state of All as a cut of Reality while each state of affections, images or ideas can not be separated from the duration which binds it to the precedent state and extends it to following one. Affect is also a term of changes. One affects at the same time it is affected. Exhibitional space as affect (or affectional space) is distinguished from representational and presentational space in the way it attributes movement, produces arrangements and generates new factors of artistic creation including those which are outside of ever accepted artistic elements. The concepts of affectional space are used especially to enlighten contemporary situation of artistic and curatorial processes. Art is no more limited to be seen as mere objects of aesthetical admiration, nor as art vis-$\`{a}$-vis art relationship apart from the whole. It includes possibilities and virtuality that appear in the imperceptible and undescribable manners if delimited in given language. As once noticed by Kuhn, we might be living in a paradigmatically shifting world, not only in Art but also in Life. And we need to express it more with Art as moving and affectional nods than as just a clean window or a distinct manual book.

This paper concerns the dynamic relational landscape between art curating and publishing, and proposes continued interest and research on it. Publishing about art functions as a major means of mediating and disseminating art practices. It is also a metaphorical space for curating that visualizes original creations and their discourse, and also has a collective character that converges various art practices. Accordingly, this paper examines the complex aspects implied in publishing as art curating and the meaning of its manifestation. In the main text of this paper, first of all, there are authors such as Seth Siegelaub, who used publications as a space to produce works and reveal them to the public, and art critic Lucy Lippard, who founded Printed Matter and filled the space with books produced by artists. We also examine the concept of publication as an 'exhibition' through several examples. We also analyzes the historical changes that have raised the status of publications containing the voices of curators by revealing the intellectual narrative inherent in experimental curating through printed materials. Lastly, we traced Kassel Documenta's publication strategy, which gave authenticity and authority to the act of art curating and raised social attention to the curator persona. This research process is intended to promote an expanded understanding of art curating and to confirm the importance of publication, which is considered a part of curating within the art world.
The educational effect of movie is very high. This paper suggests a practical scheme applying multimedia materials to some subject classes. At present film education consists of 3 methods, integrated method, regular method, and professional method in the 7th curriculum. The simplest method is integrated method. Most previous researches tried to apply to middle or high schools, or only one subject class. So we apply integrated method into 5th grade elementary students. At first teaching schedule is constructed on Korean, Social, Science, Ethics, and Art classes, and then movie materials are applied. Finally we let students write study book. Study book says that students take great interest and can promote the thought ability.

This study aims to present the effects that a bibliotherapy program based on picture books and paper craft art activities had on middle school students' stress recognition and the changes in their reactions. To this end, we adopted an experimental research design model with pre/post-test measurements of stress recognition and reactions using first grade middle school students with emotional difficulties. The results show that a bibliotherapy program based on picture books and paper craft art activities does have significant effects on the stress recognition and reactions of middle school students. The 5 of 5 sub-domains of the stress recognition had significant difference. The sub-domains are: family environment, friends, study, teacher/school. The 6 of 7 sub-domains of the stress reactions except fatigue had significant difference. The sub-domains are: tention, frustration, anger, depression, somatization, aggression.
