The purpose of this study was to investigate the recognition differences between picture book makers(editors/writers) and picture book consumers(parents of young children/preschool teachers) about picture books. The study subjects were 69 children's book-editors(editors, designers), 72 children's book-writers, 78 parents of young children, and 79 preschool teachers. The results of this study were as follows. First, they differently recognized the effects of good picture books on children's development, and the contents and components of picture books. However, both groups preferred creative stories to traditional stories and agreed on the children's preferences of the book genre and characteristics. Second, picture book makers and consumers were differently aware of the quality of Korean picture books published in Korea but they agreed on the quality of foreign picture books. They thought that more picture books with better contents and formality on the imaginary, artistic, and real-life related themes needed to be published in Korea. Third, the book makers and consumers obtained information on the picture books in the book stores and libraries in most cases. The book makers were more interested than the consumer in the picture, writer, cover design, and publishing company of the books, whereas the consumers placed a higher priority in the purchase process. Both groups pointed out the non-professional editing and sales policy as the problems in the Korean publishing company.

This study conducted analysis on forms and contents of Story of Insects (Gonchung Iyagi) and About Insects (Gonchung-gi), writings of biologist Jo Bok-seong published in 1948 to examine characteristics of two books and compare them. Story of Insects was made in the form of front cover-title page-foreword-table of contents-main text-copyright clause-advertisement-back cover, with the book size being A5 format. Contents of the book were divided into nine groups according to the characteristics of 65 species insects, to describe their characteristics. While, About Insects was made in the form of cover-title page-foreword-table of contents-main text-copyright clause-publication message of Eulyoo Mungo-advertisement-back cover, with the book size of A6 format. Contents of the book were divided into the author's own 11 groups according to the characteristics of 56 species insects, to describe their characteristics. About Insects being Eulyoo Publishing Co. and Story of Insects being Association of Joseon Children's Culture (abbreviated as Ahyeop) - sister company of Eulyoo Publishing Co. - but with the same basis.

Some terms related to "meaning" in semantics are reviewed, particularly those used in Lyons' famous semantics book Semantics 1 and Semantics 2 (Cambridge University Press, 1977). Since Lyons' book is so comprehensive that the semantic terms used in that book cover almost every important notions/terms used in contemporary semantics. With relevant interpretation of the terms, we suggest most appropriate Korean translations, trying to give different translations for different English terms. Terms covered include: 'signify, signification; reference/refer/referent, sense; denotation/denote, connotation/connote; extension, intension; implication/imply, implicature/implicate, entailment/entail; designate, demonstrate/demonstrative'.

There have been many studies on the subject of risks in the Construction Industry and many useful results have been produced. However, risk studies on the conditions of contract, which is the most critical contract documents, has not been tried despite of its contractual function in the overseas projects. In this study, various contractual risks are identified for proper and reasonable evaluation of the contractual risks possibly encountered in the Tender and/or Contract stages of the Projects. For development of study, FIDIC Red Book 1999 Edition which is world widely recognised as a standard conditions of contract prepared for the projects designed by the Employer. Contractual risks are divided into three levels and applicable clauses are assigned to each appropriate risk factors. And table of major contractual risk factors are made using the classified levels of each factors with evaluation criteria as a result of this study. As this study is made only for the conditions of contract which is prepared for the construction contracts designed by the Employer, further studies for other types of contracts such as Design-Build (FIDIC Yellow Book), EPC/Turnkey (FIDIC Silver Book) and recently developed Design, Build and Operate type of contract (FIDIC Gold Book) are required to cover various types of projects executed in the world construction markets.

"Gyeongbangsilheomrok(經方實驗錄)" is a book that was written for the propagation of the thought of Gyeongbang(經方) theory in the early 20th century. Gyeongbang means the medicine in "Sanghanron(傷寒雜病論)" which was written by Jangjonggyeong(張仲景), who is known as a great doctor of ancient times in China. Gyeongbang had worked as a good model of medicine for a long time, but as time goes by, there appeared some physicians pointing out the limit of Gyeongbang and trying to overcome it. Through the effort like this, there gradually had appeared so many physicians carrying out the medical treatment which was getting out of the boundary of Gyeongbang. And There also had appeared a group of physicians, called Gyeongbangpa(經方派), opposing the opinion like this and defending the academic value of Gyeongbang. "Gyeongbangsilheomrok" had been estimated as a meaningful achievement of Gyeongbangpa tradition, and also had been regarded as a good book comprising copious basic theory about Bangje(方劑). The most significant assertion in this book is that it explained the Onbyeong(溫病) theory as a component itself in "Sanghanron(傷寒論)", which had been argued by many other medicians thinking that "Sanghanron" did not cover the treatment of Onbyeong. In regarding to this problem, "Gyeongbangsilheomrok" argued that the concept of Onbyeong in "Sanghanron" belongs to the category of Taeyangbyeong(太陽病) and also suggested that Galgeuntang(葛根湯) would be the main recipe for Onbyeong.

Patterns and levels of aging vary between the book volume and sheets, even though both are made from the same paper materials. In case of book format, the outside is more easily affected than inner side by environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and air. In this study, the change in optical properties after dry heating accelerated aging was comparatively analyzed to understand the difference of the optical aging characteristics between outside and inner side of the duplicated beeswax-treated volume. It is found that the cover pages of the beeswax-treated volumes were more optically deteriorated than their middle pages. This indicates that outer sides of aging book volume directly exposed to the air is more vulnerable to serious deterioration than inner sides. Also, aromatic compounds such as benzoic acid and cinnamic acid were observed in the investigation of UV/VIS absorbance of the beeswax in each aged sample.

This research inquired problems that appeared in the previous boundary point coordinates record book, boundary point cover record book, and ground boundary point record book. Also, we suggested the framing plan and based on the boundary point record book for the registration and management of boundary point of cadastral resurvey upon completion on record book. In fact, the outlines of result could be organized into three following points; Firstly, a quick survey can be possible, as reference points for the present situation were available to be checked right away due to unify and manage the boundary point at the record book, even if at the field without the location explanation drawings of boundary points. Secondly, continuous managing of boundary points is possible, since recording the boundary points book with a parcel boundary point, as a unit, make it easily monitoring the formation, critical situation, and extinction of boundary point. Thirdly, the boundary point could be maintained at the boundary points at location, coinciding with geographic features by requesting boundary changes at the time of completion, although it has been made at when the location explanation drawing is made.

This study examined system, form and contents of including its publication in depth through the analysis on the publication of those days, present condition of extant edition, system and publication, illustrator etc., targeting series which was published in the liberation period. As for series which was published by Eulyoo Publishing and Joseon Children Culture Association(Ahyeop) for building children's life liberation and children culture, 5 books still remain now. For the extinct edition, this study confirmed publication history of books based on the advertisement carried on the newspaper which was published of the time. As a result of analyzing extant edition, this study found that the book was composed equally as a system of cover, beginning, body and the end, and the body was characterized by the composition of 3-cut comic and story as a form of storybook. The size of the book is A5 book size with 32 pages of quantity and was published as a semi-hardcover bound book. As for illustrators, Kim brothers (Yong-hwan, Eui-hwan) who played an active part in the field of art of the time participated.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to extend the knowledge about the textbook, Public Health Nursing Textbook (in Korean, Gongjungwisaeng Kanhohak) which is published in 1933 by the Nurses' Association of Korea. Methods: Public Health Nursing Textbook was investigated from the cover page to the last page and compared with two original books and other nursing books published in modern Korea. Results: Public Health Nursing Textbook was the forth published Korean nursing textbook and the first published Korean public health nursing textbook. Rosenberger, a missionary nurse from USA, Lee Keumjeon, Korean public health nurse who studied in Canada, and other Koreans were in charge of translation, etc. It is a user - friendly book written mainly in Korean (Hangul) with Chinese characters and included the English table of contents, preface and back cover. Most of its contents were extracted and translated from two original books, one is Public Health Nursing by Mary Gardner and the other is Personal Hygiene Applied by Jesse Williams. It is worth noting that the book not only introduced the public health nurses's activities across the country, but also focused on the information necessary for common health problems at that time. Conclusion: From the Public Hygiene and Nursing, it can be seen that public health nurses had been independently educated since Imperial Japan's colonial period, and public health nursing was growing as a independent field in Korea.
