Research of Development and Social Settlement to the Security and Secretary (경호비서업무의 사회적 정착과 발전방안에 관한 제언)

  • Recently the demand for civil bodyguards and security guards shows rapid growth by the social development and improve the quality of life. However the supply and training system have some limitations in spite of the high demand guard-secretary. The main role of secretaries has been to accompany superiors in order to maintain their dignity or trait. But the secretaries are required to play additional roles of safety managers such as a security manager, a protocol manager, an intelligence manager and a protective driver in order to overcome the domestic and the international safety environment and to elevate the quality of service as a competitive work. So, the purpose of this article is to analyse current situation of civil body and security guard training industry and to seek an educational model. For it, the following questions will be examined. First, Do the professional training organizations meet social demand for the body and security guards? Second, What kind of training has to be provide for the body and security guards? and what the qualifications of the trainers? Then, what are the differences in training courses between private organizations and universities? Is there differences in the job placement among the trainers of private organizations and universities? etc.. In summary to meet the social demand common curriculum for the body and security guard will be drawn from the analyses of diverse training organizations with different training courses in contents, training periods, educational value, and social aim.

  • The increasing number of crimes in rapidly changing modern society is enhancing people's desire for safety. As of 2008, 2,900 private security businesses with 133,000 employees operated in the private security industry which emerged in response to growing demands from society and people. Of the employees, bodyguards (hereinafter referred to as "private security guard") accounted for about 10% or 13,000. Most private security guards were suffering from various occupational diseases. Especially as they needed to guard their clients many hours a day and worked in a standing position for a long time, private security guards often complained of low back pain. Under the pain, they were hardly expected to perform their tasks efficiently. There are several causes of low back pain. The most prevalent cause is muscle weakness and imbalance around low back. Especially because private security work often requires security guards to maintain a standing position for a long time, many of them are suffering from low back pain. This study pursued the following purposes. First, it tried to identify the pathogenesis of low back pain caused by muscle weakness and imbalance around low back. Second, it tried to provide private security guards, who can hardly have personal time at work, with an easy method to prevent and manage low back pain any time by researching an effective therapy for low back pain caused by muscle weakness and imbalance around low back.

  • There are always possibilities for conflicts among individuals, between individuals and groups, and among groups because of the complex and diverse nature of contemporary society. Some form of bodyguard is required to protect oneself from this constant possibility of conflicts and thus the concept of security was developed to meet the needs of one's safety. Furthermore, the increase in the number of crime and intellectual crimes now threatens not only the people with power, fortune, reputation but also all citizens. Meeting the need for safety became a challenging task for the world and a security-related industry as well as security-related careers were born. Therefore, schools and security institutions must provide education and training to nurture morality and stable psychological condition for their students/trainees. In order to offer them such working and educational environments, utilizing the sixth-sense the five senses is recommended and it is called security psychology training. This study identifies the psychology, the five senses, and the sixth sense of bodyguards while on duty and explores the training and education contents to utilize the sixth sense.

  • This study (research) has been done on the job, job-satisfaction and job dedication of body guards from many sectors in Korea. This research is focused on the relationship of job, job-satisfaction and job-dedication in diverse aspects in order to build up a detailed theory, As a result, teams of body guard can enhance their systematic efficiency through the theory. Therefore in this chapter, it will re-examine the result of this research and discuss about the theoretical and practical aspect of the result. This study(research) will be the outset(start) for the organizational behavior study of the body guards in Korea. Especially, this research tries to distinguish the duty aspect and the general feature of the body guards, satisfaction along with the level of dedication. Therefore it will give the persons concerning the bodyguards many theoretical and practical points to consider. But there is a limitation as crossing research that in this research we didn't research in compensation for all internal body guards and accomplishment of research has achieved in a short-time. Though it will be necessary to accomplish in henceforth research, if at all possible, in compensation for all body guards and much more diverse security service classification, also for a long time extended vertical research.

  • Recently the demand for civil bodyguards and security guards shows rapid growth with social development that lead the social structure environment. In recent years, the security industry and market seems to be increasingly affected by new social environment changes. In addition to that, efficient management for the private security needs to many security managers. So, the management for the private security is a matter of primary concern to all security managers. The purpose of this research is to apply efficient management for the private security and how security managers leadership type effects on working attitude for guards. Then, this study is composed of the introduction in the first chapter, theological consideration of leadership and working attitude in the second chapter, research application in the third chapter and finally the conclusion in the fourth chapter. For the security managers, the organization can be altered its efficiency by organizing groups applying what kind of leadership to how it wed. Considering to its characteristic of security organization, the leadership is not only important factor effecting on outcome of organization but also core activity achieving the goal of organization to private security managers.

  • The successful performance ability of the private security of a bodyguard is evaluated as the quality of the bodyguard. However, the performance ability of a bodyguard is never decided only with his/her ability. When the educational development of a security company is continuously made, bodyguards and their team belonging to the company can obtain a good evaluation. It is also directly connected with the recognition of a company that plays the role of CP. A fundamental repetition education over safety and happiness should be conducted to avoid the lack of safety awareness under genuine recognition. Security companies should surely understand that liberation from the uneasiness for unclear future is not achieved only with the skill and ability of a bodyguard. The ability of a single bodyguard does not represent his/her team. The security of a client is maintained with a satisfying result of a team. The satisfaction result of a client should be linked to a result to improve the personal satisfaction of a bodyguard. When a security company and its CEO support an education that rightly regulates the activities of a bodyguard, the quality of a bodyguard and the satisfaction of his/her team obviously improve together. This research aims at being used as educational material that is needed for maintaining the psychological condition of a client while guarding the client. This is because the method accessing the excellent performance ability of a bodyguard needed by a client can be achieved through education.

The Development and Expansion of Teukgongmusul focused on Security Service History (특공무술의 개발과 발전에 관한 경호사(警護史)적 함의)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical progress about Teukgongmusul as bodyguard martial arts focused on security service history through the meaning of its development and expansion. This study used secret materials from presidential security service, military service headquarters and special merit unit in Korea, and also used interview materials by oral history. For the above tasks, the conclusions of this study are as follows: Firstly, consideration about the background and circumstances of Teukgongmusul when it was developed in 1970s. No.606 special merit unit's soldiers who worked in presidential security service in Korea organized Teukgongmusul. Secondly, consideration about the meanings of Teukgongmusul presented through its development and expansion process. Teukgongmusul was bodyguards' martial arts which was based on Army's martial arts in 1970s. For this reason, Teukgongmusul now has the perception as Bodyguard Martial Arts. Thirdly, consideration about the expansion process of Teukgongmusul when it was adopted in Army and presidential security service in Korea. In 1970s special merit unit was included in presidential security service in Korea where Teukgongmusul was developed. Afterward Teukgongmusul was expanded in two different ways which were Army and presidential security service in Korea. In Army Teukgongmusul was expanded by no.5 special merit brigade and was expanded by Hapkido master who was worked as martial arts instructor for presidential security service in Korea. Fourthly, the historical progress of Teukgongmusul as bodyguard martial art was influenced by the political situation.

  • This research is mainly based on the experimental result due to seek different outcomes whena certain security motion with a paticular gear is applied in a plausible confrontational situation. For the purpose of this research an Expandable Baton, which is one of the most commonsecurity equipments, was chosen to be applied in a situation of hitting a person's head. Alsothe results will be studied in the view of Kinematic theory. To demonstrate, 10 students who were majeored in Escort Crane studies at 'H' university werechosen as testees. The participants were grouped into two-one is practiced with the 'expanadable baton use program' and the other is pre-practiced. In this report two groups abovewill be reffered as 'group A' and 'group B' for conveniency. There were a number of differences and changes between two groups. Group B took more timethan the other group did. Group A spent about 0.428sec in section 'e2' and 0.230sec in section'e3' while Group B took 0.435sec, 0.232sec in each sections.To add on, more distinctive results were out when it was more focused on physical movements. Two gropus presented considerable changes- in an 'left-right' moving displacement-Group A;$2.16{\pm}0.9cm$ (left side), $3.78{\pm}1.42cm$ (right side), total $5.94{\pm}2.03cm$. Group B; $2.97{\pm}1.01cm$ (left side),$4.56{\pm}1.57cm$ (right side), total $7.53{\pm}2.13cm$.Continuously, different outcomeswere shown between two groups in a 'back and forth' moving displacement-Group A;$32.48{\pm}3.86cm$, $35.21{\pm}4.64cm$, total $69.36{\pm}5.72$. Group B; $34.50{\pm}6.12cm$, $37.04{\pm}3.70cm$, total $71.46{\pm}7.17cm$. Furthermore, changes in an 'up and down' moving displacement were - GroupA; $5.62{\pm}2.41cm$, $4.54{\pm}1.87cm$, total $10.11{\pm}1.57cm$. Group B; $6.33{\pm}1.78cm$, $4.86{\pm}1.85cm$,total $10.68{\pm}1.81cm$. To continue, there were few modifications of degree on participants' joints, espcially on 'Wristjoint', 'Elbow joint' and 'Shoulder joint', depend on different sections -Wrist joint;Group A; e1 $114.62{\pm}7.13$, e2 $68.27{\pm}6.37$, e3 $131.64{\pm}6.27$. Group B; e1 $112.62{\pm}6.13$, e2 $66.28{\pm}7.38$, e3$137.42{\pm}4.28$ and Elbow joint ; Group A e1 $132.31{\pm}6.55$, e2 $117.92{\pm}8.42$, e3 $144.41{\pm}6.32$. Group B; e1 $133.58{\pm}8.56$, e2 $114.45{\pm}8.21$, e3 $139.89{\pm}4.38$. Lastly, degree changes ofshoulder joint were; Group A; e1 $13.55{\pm}3.85$, e2 $131.42{\pm}11.24$, e3 $78.32{\pm}6.28$. Group B; e1$9.45{\pm}1.23$, e2 $136.74{\pm}13.21$, e3 $79.75{\pm}4.24$.
