Tongue osteoma is a rare disease. Clinically, it occurs mainly in the posterior part of the tongue and may cause foreign body sensation, but most of it is found incidentally without any symptom. Clear mechanisms of development have not yet been established, but many hypotheses have been proposed. Treatment is possible with surgical resection and no recurrence or malignancy has been reported. We experienced a 29 year old man with osteoma of tongue. We report this case with a review of literature.

To protect farmers from solar radiation and UV, the movable sunshade tent was designed and its protection efficiency was measured in the artificial chamber and outdoors. Sunshade tent and the existing farmer's hat were examined. The results were as followes； Heart rate, total body weight loss and temperature of clothing microclimate on the chest and the back were lower in using sunshade tent than those in wearing existing hat in two experiments. In subjective sensation, subjects answered to feel significantly hotter and more uncomfortable in wearing existing hat in two experiments. Rectal temperature was significantly lower using the sunshade hat in experiment at outdoors(p<0.001).

Objectives The purpose of this study was to report significant improvement of functional dyspepsia in 3 patients, who were diagnosed with 'Soyangin Spleen Cold-based Exterior Cold disease' and applied medication based on Sasang Constitutonal medicine.Methods The patients were treated with herbal medications, according to their own constitution. The objective outcome was measured by body composition analyzer and Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS), and the subjective sensation was assessed by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).Results The symptoms of functional dyspepsia improved remarkedly in all respects, without any side effects. Original symptoms also changed for the better.Conclusions This results show that it is available that functional dyspepsia is treated with medicines according to Sasang Constitutional medicine.

This study is an attempt to analyze concept of pain and to do it according to a series of concept development processes described by Walker and Avant. Based on the results of the study, the attributes, scope, precedences and consequences of pain were identified : 1. The attributes of pain were subjectivity, unpleasantness, expression, experience, response, and sensitivity. 2. The scope of pain were physical, psychological, and socio-cultural. 3. The following were precedences of pain : 1) Internal or external noxious stimuli 2) actual or potential injury or damage to body and/or mind 3) noxious stimulation or aversive sensation is perceived as pain 4. The following were consequences of pain : 1) physical, psychological, socio-cultural response 2) verbal and/or non-verbal communication 3) coping and self-preservation.

Tumors of trachea are uncommon and benign tumors are rare in adults. Tracheal tumors are overlooked as a cause of pulmonary symptoms. Neurilemmoma is originated from Schwann cells of nerve sheath, which are characterized by benign, solitary, and encapsulated mass. Although it may occur most frequently in the head and neck region, the neurilemmoma of trachea is extremely rare. We report a case in a 55-year-old man who presented with mild exertional dyspnea and foreign body sensation. The round encapsulated mass was demonstrated in posterior wall of trachea and removed by tracheofissure.

In the established virtual-reality system, although it is possible to transact a faculty of sensation and graphic in a single PC, virtual object forcibly treated with rigid body for the reason of the huge amount of calculation, and the number of polygon is restricted. Furthermore, there is some difficulty in the financial aspect and a program field, because the existing virtual-reality system needs at least two workstations or super computers. In this study, the new force-reflecting algorithm called as "Proxy" and a finite element method of Hyperion are applied to this system in order to transact in real-time. Consequently, though the number of polygon, which brings about an obstacle is increased in the real-time graphic transaction, this system makes it possible to transact in the real-time, not being influenced by the size of the virtual object.

Eagle's syndrome is a disease without a clear lesion that is associated with repeated episodes of pharyngalgia, odynophagia, the sensation of a foreign body in the pharynx, tinnitus, and otalgia in which patients displaying these types of symptoms must be given a differential diagnosis. It is known to be characterized by styloid process elongation or increasing compression to adjacent anatomical structures through stylohyoid ligament calcification. In serious cases, continuous pressure to the carotid artery can lead to a stroke. Diagnosis is confirmed through clinical symptoms, radiological findings, and physical examinations. The most common type of treatment consists of a surgical excision of elongated styloid process. Nonetheless, this study presents a case of treating Eagle's syndrome with conservative management.

The authors present the first human case of Clinostomum pharyngitis in Taegu, Korea. The patient was a 56-year old male who visited an otolarlngology clinic due to foreign body sensation and pain of the pharyngeal region for 3-4 days. He used to eat raw fresh-water fish. Otolaryngological examinations revealed a living worm adhered to the right posterior pharyngeal wall. The worm removed was identified as C. complonotum after morphological observations. It is likely that more attention should be paid to eating raw fresh-water fish in Korea siC regards to Clinostomunl pharyngitis.

Liposarcoma is one of the most common malignancies originating from human soft tissue. Because most of liposarcoma occur in the lower extremities or retroperitoneum, there are few reports about liposarcoma of head and neck region, including larynx and pharynx. Histologically, there are four types of liposarcoma, and prognosis and recurrence rate are different according to histologic subtype. Wide excision is the treatment of choice and liposarcoma hardly respond to primary radiotherapy. A 56-year-old man presented with voice change and foreign body sensation in laryngopharynx. Hypopharyngeal liposarcoma was diagnosed by surgical biopsy and performed totallaryngopharyngoesophagectomy and gastric pull-up. Here we report our experience on this case with review of literature.

Inverted papilloma is a rare benign tumor which usually arises from sinonasal mucosa. We experienced a case of 62-year-old male who presented with foreign body sensation in throat. A round mass was found at right false vocal cord in laryngoscopic examination. It was excised in laryngeal microsurgery. The pathologic diagnosis was inverted papilloma of false vocal cord. Recurrence or complication did not occur during the follow up period of three months.
