  • This study carried out and analyzed survey data on captains and mates of Korean coastal large trawlers in order to examine factors affecting body abnormalities and fatigue on bridge teams from work and environment at bridges of trawlers. The summarized result may be summed up as follows: multiple regression analysis with body pain and fatigue as dependent variables yields t-values of -2.559 (p<0.05) and -3.928 (p<0.05) respectively. From the result, environment at bridges (views, spaces and exhaust) were negative factors in affecting bridge workers' pain and fatigue. Thus, it is determined to secure available spaces to improve the workers' views through windows in front of, besides and rear bridge and create more pleasant atmospheric environment at bridge.

  • In a broad sense, the healthcare system refers to the conventional medical service for the field of treatment. From head to toe, our whole body corresponds to the subject of the medical service. In this paper, we discuss the abnormality of flexion and extension in general elbow disease. Flexion and extension refer to flexing and extending of the arm while it is set to be at 90 degrees. In this case, if the angle of the arm is remarkably small or is accompanied with pain, there is an abnormality that occurs in the elbow. We tested the flexion and extension of the elbow for 100 people in their 50s and calculated the number of people for each case. Afterwards, we classified people with abnormalities in flexion and extension and presented the respective treatment methods. In this paper, a system was constructed for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

  • Ocellar morphological abnormality was studied in Drosophila rdgA mutant. In the mutant, ocellar photoreceptor cells were generally affected by the defection of rdgA molecules. Among organelles of photoreceptor cell, rhabdomeres were remarkably degenerated. The rdgA molecule, diacylglycerol kinase, was localized around SRC just below the rhabdomeric region. As a secondary phenomenon of photoreceptor degeneration, rER, multivesicular body and multilamella body were appeared in cytoplasm and these were known as to clean the cellular debris. These morphological abnormality was generally observed in degenerating cells. In Drosophila mutant, the degeneration of ocellar photoreceptor cell was facilitated to time. More intense morphological defection was observed in rdgA^{ks60} rather than in yw;rdgApc47.

  • The starry flounder Platichthys stellatus, like all flatfish, exhibits conspicuous lateral asymmetry in numerous traits, most obvious of which is the migration of one eye to the other side of the head during metamorphosis. Additional changes related to eye migration include asymmetrical pigmentation, and a behavioral shift from larvae that exhibit upright, open-water swimming to juveniles and adults that lie on the ocean floor, eye side up. However, the morphology of these juveniles has been quite plastic in recent years, a phenomenon which is thought to be related to a diverse suite of semi-intensive and intensive larviculture methods. The cause of morphological abnormalities in the farmed flatfish is poorly understood. In the present study, we observe the features of morphological specificity and abnormality of immature fish (mean total length 23 cm) and survey the occurrence frequency of the specificity and abnormality of juvenile (mean total length 6.70 cm) in artificial culture facility. We find 2 types of abnormality (e.g., albino in ocular side and hypermelanosis in blind side) and 1 type of specificity (e.g., lateral polymorphism). These considerably differ from normal individuals (has sinistral eye and pigmented on only one side) by several characteristics (dextral eye, ocular side albinism, blind side hypermelanosis). The incidences of albinism, hypermelanosis, and body reversal are $10.1{\pm}2.56%$, $91.7{\pm}1.7%$, and $13.1{\pm}1.1%$, respectively. These suggest that these morphometric and morphological differences occur more in artificial environment during and just after metamorphosis.

  • Background: Mammographic density determined according paranchymal patterns is a risk factor for breast cancer and its relationships with body and other breast characteristics of women is important. The purpose of the present study was to correlate breast parenchymal patterns and mammography abnormality findings with women's BMI, compressed breast thickness (CBT) and age in Tabriz city, Iran. Materials and Methods: From 1,100 mammograms interpreted by radiologists, breast parenchymal was classified into four categories from Types 1 (mostly fatty) through 4 (mostly fibroglandular tissue). Age, BMI, and CBT were recorded and their relation with risk for the development of breast abnormalities in mammograms was analyzed. Results: In women with a mean age of $45.8{\pm}8.63years$ 17.7% were in the high density group (Type 3 and 4). A comparison of four types of breast paranchymal with BMI, CBT and age showed inverse relations to breast density. Abnormal mammographic findings were 25.8% of all reported mammograms with a circular mass (12.7%) as the most common abnormality. About 21% abnormal cases were in less than 40 years. Increasing of BMI had significant relation with breast abnormality but in CBT was not observed. Conclusions: Measurement of women's body characteristics is useful for assistance in mammography diagnosis as well as selection of imaging instrument by high sensitivity for following patient in future. The effects of age, CBT and BMI groups on the breast paranchymal were significant.

The method of this study was to analyze the documentaries for theoretical studies about femme fatale and the visual characteristics in fashion illustration works since 1980. The results of this study were as follows: Femme fatale expressed in the general realm of art was icon of fatal and seductive eroticism in late 19th century. She is composed of diverse images like mythology, exoticism, fear and sensuality. The characteristics of her image in fashion illustration were expressed into de-body image by union of animal and female body, or machine and female body, duplicity of death and sexuality, sexual decadence or abnormality and powerful masculine taste. First, de-body image by union of animal and female body, or machine and female body was expressed in transformed mythical image or bizarre and demonic image, grotesque image linked by picture of female body and painting of animal image, and cyborg image linked by machine and realistic female body by digital media. Second, duplicity of death and sexuality was expressed in juxtaposition by sexual pose, body and something metaphorical and symbolic depiction and de-constructive depiction of death. Third, sexual decadence or abnormality was expressed in fetishistic style, obscene depiction of cheap and hedonistic sexuality, masochistic depiction like antisocial and diseased sex appeal. Forth, powerful masculine taste was expressed in man's face, body, pose, masculine fashion, man's role related to crime and threatening weapon, etc. As mentioned above, femme fatale in fashion illustration was expressed in diverse images by fashion illustrator's point of view. Although she was originated by men's fantastic vision, she brings a catharsis to human being. And she is also recognized as new paradigm and positive cultural sign in our times.

  • This case report describes a patient who had a foreign body in transverse sinus. A 35-year-old Korean-Chinese man visited the emergency room with lacerated wound in left eyelid and a foreign body which was stumbled upon in the skull. On examination, there was right side hemianopsia in his left eye, He did not complain any headache or show any abnormal neurological signs, but there was a foreign body at left transverse sinus in computed tomography which was taken at another hospital. There was no intracranial abnormality except the foreign body in computed tomography. Because of the financial problem, additional evaluations were not possible. We herein report a strange case in which the pathway of a foreign body to locate in transverse sinus was ambiguous, and suggest that the foreign body located in transverse sinus might have been the penetrated along the anterior fontanelle and passed through the superior sagittal sinus.

  • To develop a stalk detaching system the effect of shape factor of red pepper affecting the performance of unfolding, arranging and cutting was analysed. The obtained results are as follows : By cutting experiment, it was found that the bending of stalk affected the cutting rate of stalk, and that the bending of body increased the amount of peppers that were expelled from the cutting guide by conveying brush. The ratios, 'bending length of a body/body length'and 'bending length of a stalk/stalk length', could be used as criteria far abnormality of body and stalk of peppers, respectively. As a result of experiment, it was concluded that mechanical treatment would be difficult for the peppers with indexes greater than 0.4 and 0.3 fur body bending and stack bending. respectively. So, these indexes were used as criteria for distinguishing abnormality from normality of peppers. In the unfolding unit, conveyance of peppers was impossible for both of normal and abnormal ones at the inclination angle of 10°, especially, at the frequency of 8.3 Hz peppers maintained stationary state. At the inclination angle of 20°, both of normal and abnormal peppers showed similar tendencies, but abnormal ones showed an accumulation trend gradually with increased feeding speed. In the arranging unit, conveyance of peppers was almost impossible for both of normal and abnormal ones at the inclination angle of 20°, showing almost no difference between the conveyances of normal and abnormal ones. In the case of the inclination angle of 30°, at the condition of the feeding speeds and frequency corresponding 0.06 m/s, 0.08 m/s and 8.3 Hz, respectively, the passing time of the abnormal peppers on the arranging plate increased rapidly.

  • Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of early feed restriction on growth, feed conversion ratio (FCR) and mortality in unsexed broiler chickens. In Experiment 1, 350 one-day-old broiler chickens were divided into 7 groups. Each treatment group was represented by five replicates of ten broilers each. One group was fed ad libitum as the control group and the other six groups were fed 25% ad libitum (25% multiplied by amount of feed intake of ad libitum chickens at the previous day) for 4 or 6 days, 50% ad libitum for 4 or 6 days, and 75% ad libitum for 4 or 6 days. In experiment 2, 500 broiler chickens were divided into 10 groups. Each treatment group was represented by five replicates of ten broilers each. One group was fed ad libitum as the control group. Three ages of feed restriction initial timing (2, 4 or 6 days of age) and three types of feed restriction (physical restriction, meal feeding and diet dilution) were used ($3{\times}3$) in both experiments. They were feed-restricted for 6 days. Results showed that restricted broilers exhibited compensatory growth in both experiments except for diet dilution groups. In both experiments, FCR of restricted broilers was higher, whereas feed intake of them was lower during restriction period. FCR of restricted broilers was lower upon refeeding. Mortality was inconsistently affected by early feed restriction. Leg abnormality was lower in restricted broilers in both experiments. Level of feed restriction significantly influenced body weight, FCR and feed intake of restricted broilers (p<0.05), but duration of feed restriction had no effect. Type of restriction significantly affected body weight, feed intake and FCR (p<0.05). It appeared that to achieve the best result (complete compensatory growth and better FCR), broilers should be restricted at 25% ad libitum for 6 days (Experiment 1). Meal feeding started at 2 days of age would show the best performance (Experiment 2).
