Ruvbl1 is Essential for Ciliary Beating during Xenopus laevis Embryogenesis

  • The Ruvb-like AAA ATPase1 (Ruvbl1; also known as Pontin) is an evolutionary conserved protein belonging to the adenosine triphosphates associated with diverse cellular activities (AAA+) superfamily of ATPases. Ruvbl1 is a component of various protein supercomplexes and is involved in a variety of cellular activities, including chromatin remodeling, DNA damage repair, and mitotic spindle assembly however, the developmental significance of this protein is unknown and needs detailed investigation. We investigated the developmental significance of Ruvbl1 in multiciliated cells of the Xenopus laevis epidermis since ruvbl1 is expressed in the multiciliated cells and pronephros during X. laevis embryogenesis. The knockdown of ruvbl1 significantly impaired cilia-driven fluid flow and basal body polarity in the X. laevis epidermis compared to control embryos, but did not affect cilia morphology. Our results suggest that Ruvbl1 plays a significant role in embryonic development by regulating ciliary beating; however, further investigation is needed to determine the mechanisms involved.

액압 성형 공정 시 플랜지부 형성을 위한 FE 해석 (FE Analysis of Hydroforming Process for Flange Forming)

  • Tube hydroforming provides a number of advantages over the conventional stamping process, including fewer secondary operations, weight reduction, assembly simplification, adaptability to forming of complex structural components and improved structural strength and stiffness. A hydroformed vehicle body component has an attachment flange or the like-formed as an integral part of the hydroforming process. For a given flange shape, a parting plane for the dies is established relative to which the various surfaces of the flange shape, in cross section, have no significant reverse curvature. This study shows analysis results that form the flanged tubular parts in the hydroforming. The thickness variations and defects during the hydroforming for flange forming could be analyzed by FE analysis. FE analysis was performed by LS-DYNA/Dynaform 5.5.

  • The paper provides a review of the analysis methods currently being used to perform seismic analysis of free standing high density spent fuel storage racks for PWR. On the basis of the analysis techniques obtained by KAERI from the design experience of Yonggwang unit 3&4 and Ulchin unit 3&4, the analysis procedure and modeling methods are discussed. The analysis of free standing fuel racks requires consideration of complex phenomena such as hydrodynamic coupling, impact through gap between fuel assembly and poison box and racks, frictional effect, rigid body sliding and tipping and etc. The present modeling of these factors is reviewed in comparison with the recommendation of regulatory group. Further improvement of analysis method and the current issues for the development are discussed.

화이버 레이저 원격용접 기술개발 (Development of remote welding system using fiber laser)

  • Nowadays, most automotives companies are making use of laser welding in car body assembly shop. But even though laser welding is better than resistance spot welding in many points, its application has been limited to special technology for manufacturing. The paper introduces in the field of remote welding system (RWS) to improve the process efficiency of laser welding. Positioning time of RWS between welding stitches is dramatically reduced to zero. It is a kind of solutions to generalize laser welding in mass production. This RWS consists of fiber laser, industrial robot and 3-axis scanner.

차체조립과 자동용접 (Motor vehicle body assembly and auto-welding)

  • 자동차제조에 있어서의 용접은 신뢰성 양산과 생력화에 대응하여 접합 조립하는 방법으로 특이한 분야를 형성하여 발전되었다. 예를 들면, 자동차의 생산은 기본적으로 양산체제를 갖추고 있 어서, 일반적으로 노동집약형 산업이라고 불리어지며 그 제조공정을 보면 stamping press 공정과 같이 용접공정도 비교적 장치산업적인 분야로 빠르게 자동화나 성인화 내지 무인화로 진행되고 있다. 자동차용접은 사람이 portable spot welder로 한점씩 용접하지만 양산에 대비한 합리화와 안정화를 위하여 다점용접 (multi spot weld)라는 자동화공법의 도입이 불가피하며 금일의 자 동차생산에 있어서 상식화가 되고 있다. 이것은 한개의 차체라면 차형의 대조 또는 press panel의 수에 따라 차이가 조금 있으나 약 4-5 천점의 점용접이 필요하기 때문에 여러 가지 반송장치와 조합하여 대규모의 line설비로 발전되어 가고 있다. 이와 같이 용접공정의 자동화는 생산성을 높이는 반면에 전용성이 높기 때문에 설계변경에 대한 초기투자의 용접설비 대부분을 갱신하여야 하는 새로운 투자의 필요문제가 증대되었다. 이러한 전용설비에 대한 유연성을 가미한 자동차로 지향되어, 그 한 방법으로 산업용 robot가 도입되었다. 근래에 와서는 자동차제조에 있어서 새 로운 용접기술을 합리적으로 효과있게 적용하는 기술이 금후의 연구과제라 하겠다.

물류센터에서 VNA 지게차로 대체시 경제성 분석모형 (Economic Analysis Model for Substituting VNA Truck in Distribution Centers)

  • VNA(Very Narrow Aisle) forklift trucks require narrower aisle width than traditional counter-balanced trucks do because only the fork assembly turns in the aisle instead of the entire body of the truck. Substituting the VNA trucks for the existing counter-balanced trucks will result in the significant increase of revenue due to the increased storage capacity in the distribution centers. In this study, we present an economic analysis model for the substitution, in which we present a closed-form equation for the number of racks to stay unmoved, while maximizing the additional storage capacity; and resulting payback period of the substitution. A case study shows the payback period of only 8.1 months, indicating that this substitution is very profitable.

플랜지형 중공 스핀들의 복합단조 공정설계를 위한 유한요소 시뮬레이션 (Finite Element Simulation for Design of Compound Forging Process for a Hollow Flanged Spindle)

  • A hollow flanged spindle is generally used for the assembly of the driving shaft in some vehicles. This part has conventionally been manufactured by both hot forging and machining process, in which case a circular billet is hot-forged into a flanged spindle blank and then its central part is machined for hollow. Therefore, the development of a new forming technology without further machining processes has strongly been in demand. In this study, a new compound forging process of the hollow flanged spindle was proposed through the finite element simulation. By the proposed compound forging process, both extruding of the spindle body part and piercing for the hollow inside it can be performed at the same time. Metal flow patterns, forging defects and forging forces were investigated through the finite element simulation results.

레이저용접을 이용한 친환경 알루미늄 Fuel Filler Neck 개발 (Development of eco-environmental Aluminium Fuel Filler Neck using Laser welding)

  • Nowadays, the automobile manufactures make a great efforts to reduce manufacturing cost, body weight and to develop eco-environmental parts in order to be more competitive and solve global warming. For these reasons, materials of automobile's parts are changed over from general carbon steel and stainless steel to plastic and Aluminum. And, laser welding technology is introduced to apply welding between aluminum parts. In this paper, the data of laser welding parameters is collected through lots of the experiment according to the material, welding speed and laser power to apply laser welding in Aluminum fuel filler neck assembly. After manufacturing prototype of aluminum fuel filler neck, vibration durability test, tensile strength test and salt water test are applied to verify product's satisfied function.

자동차 차체조립공정설계를 위한 시뮬레이션 (System Performance Evaluation Using FACTOR/AIM for Main Body of Automoble Assembly Line)

  • 본 연구에서는 자동차의 차체조립공정설계를 위하여 FACTOR/AIM 및 자체 개발한 생산시스템 성능평가를 위한 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 이용하여 비교 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 자체에서 개발한 시스템성능 산정 방법으로 초기 해를 구하고 세부 생산라인의 고장 Data와 조립라인의 구성, 운반장비 등의 다양한 여건을 고려하기 위하여 FACTOR/AIM을 사용하였다. Data의 분석을 위하여 Expert Fit를 사용하였으며 초기 시스템 모델링 및 Data로부터 목표 생산시스템을 만족하는 시스템을 단계별로 찾아가는 과정을 사용하여 최적 해를 구하였다. 본 연구에서 분석한 K회사의 경우 목표 생산량 70대/시간을 만족하기 위하여 4 차의 개선을 통하여 71.57대/시간의 생산라인을 구하였다. 본 연구에서 생산조립라인의 공정설계를 위한 시뮬레이션 과정을 실 예를 들어 제시하였으며 다른 제품의 생산공정분석에도 활용 가능하리라 생각된다.

IMPROVEMENT OF FATIGUE LIFE IN POST-WELD COLD WORKED ALUMINUM RESISTANT SPOT WELDS

  • Aluminum Resistance Spot Weld(Al RSW) is an enabling technology for body assembly of low mass fraction vehicles. Due to the unreliable durability of spot-welded joints, applications of Al RSW are limited. This study presents experimental investigation on the use of a post-weld cold working process to improve the fatigue strength of Al RSW. The post-weld cold working process includes special shaped indenters that are pressed or driven into the structure to induce compressive residual stresses. The mechanical properties of the post-weld cold worked Al RSW were investigated, including the experimental results of fatigue and micro-hardness tests. Comparisons of the mechanical properties and qualitative results between the as-welded RSW specimens and the post-weld cold worked RSW specimens are discussed. The post-weld cold worked Al RSW samples had an increase in both microhardness and fatigue life.
