A Reliable Indoor Positioning Techniques through iBeacon Signal Verification (iBeacon 신호 검증을 통한 신뢰성 있는 실내 측위 기법)

  • Recent with the progress of smart devices, there is an increasing demand for indoor location-based services. For this reason, research on indoor positioning system using a iBeacon techniques added to BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) specifications of Bluetooth4.0 has been actively. However, RSSI signal used for the measurement of the distance between the iBeacon and the receiving terminal has the problems of inaccurate distance measurement to environmental factors such as obstacles. In this paper, we propose an implemented indoor positioning technique to use filtering technology enhance the reliability of the RSSI signal and the broadcasting signal of the terminal access point function.

  • In this paper, by utilizing the iBeacon is BLE (BlueTooth Low Energy) protocol devices that are supported by over the Bluetooth 4.0, and have implemented a system to improve the accuracy in the system for measuring the position of the user. After measuring through the system according to the state of the iBeacon, the interference factors are analyzed through analysis of the collected data, and applying the extended Kalman filter for calibration. Compared with the data after applying a filter with existing data, it was confirmed an increase in accuracy. Improvement techniques for providing the less complexity to the actual implementation, is effective in improving the accuracy of vulnerable services basic iBeacon.

  • 출석체크를 자동으로 하는 시스템으로 QR 코드나 NFC 등의 전자 태그기반 방식들이 있으나 태깅을 수동으로 해야 하는 불편함과 함께 태그의 물리적 파손 문제 등의 단점이 그 확산에 제한 사항으로 작용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는, 태그 기반 대신 Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE) 비콘 신호를 학생들의 스마트폰으로 수신하여 위치와 시간을 확인함으로 출석을 자동으로 체크하는 경제적이고 안정적인 출결 시스템을 제안한다. 나아가, 시스템 초기 및 유지 비용을 구성하는 요인들을 분석하고, 시스템의 안정적 운영을 보장하는 제한조건 하에서 BLE 비콘의 설치 및 운영의 경제성을 높이기 위한 추가적 변인들을 열거하고 변인들 간의 trade-off를 고려하여 시스템을 설계해야 함을 보였다.

  • In this paper, we propose electronic attendance checking system using a bluetooth beacon in the absence of Wi-Fi or cellular networks. The proposed electronic attendance checking system uses a polling scheme where the administrator sends a request message and the attendees response using a beacon packet. Existing electronic attendance checking system requires a centralized server but the proposed method can check attendance without any external networks.

  • The mobile card system used for mobile access control is connected to the door lock mounted on the door, enabling non-contact control. The RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) of the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication packet used here can help to know the direction and distance of the mobile device. In this study, the desirable access control distance was calculated and implemented by setting the RSSI of the transmitter of the BLE packet used in mobile access control and processing the RSSI of the receiver.

  • Recently, There is increasing interest in the IoT(Internet of Thing) as intelligent information service that enables communication between people and things based on internet. In particular the demand for indoor location-based services with the development of smart devices is rapidly increasing. If iBeacon of BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) is made available to provide a basic signal for the indoor location information measurement then reliability of Indoor location information for unreliable signal data for a variety of reasons, such as signal interference is significantly lowered. In this paper, Proposes a technique for obtaining an effective and reliable location information via genetic operations in order to obtain reliable location information from the iBeacon signal information.

  • 실내 위치 인식 기술은 여러 기술을 통해 시도되어 왔으며, 대표적인 기술로는 Wi-Fi 기반 위치 인식과 Bluetooth Low Energy 기반의 위치 인식이 있다. 하지만 Bluetooth Low Energy는 10m 거리 밖에선 오차가 많아지고 정밀도가 낮아지는 특성으로 인해 Wi-Fi가 보편화되었다. 본 논문에서는 핑거프린팅 기법을 이용하였을 때 Wi-Fi와 Bluetooth Low Energy의 위치 인식 기술의 성능 분석을 목적으로 기술되었다.

  • Recently, With the development of smart devices of interest in the intelligent indoor positioning service with a smart terminal it is increasing. The BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) is an indoor location positioning technology has attracted the attention. However, there is no way to check the reliability of the position information collected by the smart terminal receiving a big location data. This is because the reliability of an indoor position information because of a signal interference to drop. In this paper, we propose a method of managing big data collected in order to obtain reliable position information from the position information of iBeacon.

  • The audible pedestrian signal (APS) is an add-on device which connects to the pedestrian signaling device and informs the contents and changes of the signaling by sound. It provides walking direction information of the pedestrian crossing so that the blind people can safely cross the pedestrian crossing. In an intersection where a plurality of audible pedestrian signal (APS) are installed at an intersection crosswalk, existing audible pedestrian signal (APS) operate simultaneously in the communication radius of a wireless remote controller, which may cause confusion for the blind people and the public may complain about the noise. In this paper, we developed a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)-based audible pedestrian signal (APS) system capable of supporting two-way communications with a smart-phone that can cross the intersection safely and improve the walking comfort and traffic safety for the blind people. The proposed method is a method in which the BLE beacon communication based audible pedestrian signal (APS) presents active service to the blind people, and the existing audible pedestrian signal (APS) is a way of requesting the passive service by the blind people with the wireless remote control by the unidirectional communication based on 358Mhz. The developed system is installed in the crossroad of Doma-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, and it is tested and operated by the blind people. The satisfaction evaluation and analysis of the audible pedestrian signal (APS) for the blind people have good results and are planned to be expanded in the future.

  • 스마트 기기의 범위가 휴대폰을 벗어나 다양한 제품 및 가전으로 확대됨에 따라 부가가치 창출에 유리한 사물인터넷 시장(IoT)이 최근에 각광받고 있다. 사물 인터넷 시장이 확대되고, 방대해지는 스마트 기기의 종류에 따라 사용자가 효율적으로 제어할 수 있는 제어 시스템 구축이 필요하다. 특히 많은 기기 중에서 사용자가 제어하고자 하는 기기를 선택해 제어하는 방식은 사용하기 불편하다. 이러한 사물 인터넷의 특성을 파악하여 본 논문에서는 가정 내에서 사용자의 실내 위치를 기반으로 제어하고자 하는 가전을 직관적 인터페이스를 통해 제어할 수 있는 새로운 제어 패러다임을 시도하였다.
