  • Due to the characteristics of an ad hoc network without a control center, self-organization, and flexible topology, the trust evaluation of the nodes in the network is extremely difficult. Based on the analysis of ad hoc networks and the blockchain technology, a blockchain-based node-level trust evaluation model is proposed. The concepts of the node trust degree of the HASH list on the blockchain and the perfect reward and punishment mechanism are adopted to construct the node trust evaluation model of the ad hoc network. According to the needs of different applications the network security level can be dynamically adjusted through changes in the trust threshold. The simulation experiments demonstrate that ad-hoc on-demand distance vector(AODV) Routing protocol based on this model of multicast-AODV(MAODV) routing protocol shows a significant improvement in security compared with the traditional AODV and on-demand multipath distance vector(AOMDV) routing protocols.

  • Blockchain is a distributed ledger that combines technologies such as cryptography, consensus mechanism, peer-to-peer transmission, and time stamping. The rapid development of blockchain has attracted attention from all walks of life, but storage scalability issues have hindered the application of blockchain. In this paper, a scalable blockchain storage model based on Distributed Hash Table (DHT) and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) was proposed. This paper introduces the current research status of the scalable blockchain storage model, as well as the basic principles of DHT and the InterPlanetary File System. The model construction and workflow are explained in detail. At the same time, the DHT network construction mechanism, block heat identification mechanism, new node initialization mechanism, and block data read and write mechanism in the model are described in detail. Experimental results show that this model can reduce the storage burden of nodes, and at the same time, the blockchain network can accommodate more local blocks under the same block height.

  • The widespread usage of blockchain technology in cryptocurrencies has led to the adoption of the blockchain concept in data storage management systems for secure and effective data storage and management. Several innovative studies have proposed solutions that integrate blockchain with distributed databases. In this article, we review current blockchain databases, then focus on two well-known blockchain databases-BigchainDB and FalconDB-to illustrate their architecture and design aspects in more detail. BigchainDB is a distributed database that integrates blockchain properties to enhance immutability and decentralization as well as a high transaction rate, low latency, and accurate queries. Its architecture consists of three layers: the transaction layer, consensus layer, and data model layer. FalconDB, on the other hand, is a shared database that allows multiple clients to collaborate on the database securely and efficiently, even if they have limited resources. It has two layers: the authentication layer and the consensus layer, which are used with client requests and results. Finally, a comparison is made between the two blockchain databases, revealing that they share some characteristics such as immutability, low latency, permission, horizontal scalability, decentralization, and the same consensus protocol. However, they vary in terms of database type, concurrency mechanism, replication model, cost, and the usage of smart contracts.

  • Blockchain is an emerging technology that is used to address ownership, centrality, and security issues in different fields. The blockchain technology has converted centralized applications into decentralized and distributed ones. In existing sharing economy applications, there are issues related to low efficiency and high complexity of services. However, blockchain technology can be adopted to overcome these issues by effectively opening up secure information channels of the sharing economy industry and other related parties, encouraging industry integration and improving the ability of sharing economy organizations to readily gain required information. This paper discusses blockchain technology to enhance the development of insurance services by proposing a five-layer decentralized model. The Najm for Insurance Services Company in Saudi Arabia was employed in a case study for applying the proposed model to effectively solve the issue of online underwriting, and to securely and efficiently enhance the verification and validation of transactions. The paper concludes with a review of the lessons learned and provides suggestions for blockchain application development process.

  • The access control system is a system that allows users to selectively enter the building by granting an access key to the user for security. Access keys with weak security are easily exposed to attackers and cannot properly perform the role that authenticates users. Access code keys should be protected from forgery or spoofing. For this reason, access key verification service models is important in security. However, most models manage all access keys on one central server. This method not only interrupts all services due to server errors, but also risks forgery and spoofing in the process of transmitting access keys. Therefore, blockchain algorithms are used to reduce this risk. This paper proposes a blockchain-based access key verification service model that used distributed stored blockchain gateways on storing access keys and authenticates the user's identity based on them. To evaluate the performance of this model, an experiment was conducted to confirm the performance of the access key forgery recovery rate and the blockchain network performance. As a result, the proposed method is 100% forgery recovery rate, and the registration and verification process is evaluated at 387.58 TPS and 136.66 TPS.

  • As there has been growing interests in PHR-based personalized health management project, various institutions recently explore safe methods of recording personal medical and health information. In particular, innovative medical solution can be realized when medical researchers and medical service institutes can generally get access to patient data. As EMR data is extremely sensitive, there has been no progress in clinical information exchange. Moreover, patients cannot get access to their own health data and exchange it with researchers or service institutions. It can be operated in terms of technology, yet policy environment are affected by state laws as well as Privacy and Security Policy. Blockchain technology-independent, in transaction, and under test-is introduced in the medical industry in order to settle these problems. In other words, medical organizations can grant preliminary approval on patient information exchange by using the safely encrypted and distributed Blockchain ledger and can be managed independently and completely by individuals. More apparently, medical researchers can gain access to information, thereby contributing to the scientific advance in rare diseases or minor groups in the world. In this paper, we focused on how to manage personal medical information and its protective use and proposes medical treatment exchange system for patients based on a permissioned Blockchain network for the safe PHR operation. Trusted Model for Sharing Medical Data (TMSMD), that is proposed model, is based on exchanging information as patients rely on hospitals as well as among hospitals. And introduce medical treatment exchange system for patients based on a permissioned Blockchain network. This system is a model that encrypts and records patients' medical information by using this permissioned Blockchain and further enhances the security due to its restricted counterfeit. This provides service to share medical information uploaded on the permissioned Blockchain to approved users through role-based access control. In addition, this paper presents methods with smart contracts if medical institutions request patient information complying with domestic laws by using the distributed Blockchain ledger and eventually granting preliminary approval for sharing information. This service will provide an independent information transaction and the Blockchain technology under test will be adopted in the medical industry.

  • Recent advances in network and hardware technologies have led to active research and multiple network technologies that fuse blockchain technologies with security. We propose a system model that analyzes technologies using existing blockchain and verifies the integrity of files using private blockchain in a limited environment. The proposed model can be written as a chain code of Hyperleisure Fabric, a private blockchain platform, and verified for integrity of files through Hyperleisure Explorer, a private blockchain integrated management platform. The system performance of the proposed model was analyzed from a developer perspective and from a user perspective. As a result of the analysis, there are compatibility problems according to the version of various modules to run the blockchain platform, and only limited elements such as chain code status and groups can be checked.
