The state assignment for a finite state machine greatly affects the delay, area, power dissipation, and testabilities of the sequential circuits. In order to improve the testabilities and power consumption, a new state assignment technique . based on m-block partition is introduced in this paper. By the m-block partition algorithm, the dependencies among groups of state variables are minimized and switching activity is further reduced by assigning the codes of the states in the same group considering the state transition probability among the states. In the sequel the length and number of feedback cycles are reduced with minimal switching activity on state variables. It is inherently contradictory problem to optimize the testability and power consumption simultaneously, however our new state assignment technique is able to achieve high fault coverage with less number of scan nfp flops by reducing the number of feedback cycles while the power consumption is kept low upon the low switching activities among state variables. Experiment shows drastic improvement in testabilities and power dissipation for benchmark circuits.

One of the most well-known geometric lattices is a partition lattice. Every upper interval of a partition lattice is a partition lattice. The whitney numbers of a partition lattices are the Stirling numbers, and the characteristic polynomial is a falling factorial. The set of partitions with a single non-trivial block containing a fixed element is a Boolean sublattice of modular elements, so the partition lattice is supersolvable in the sense of Stanley [6]. In this paper, we rephrase four results due to Heller[1] and Murty [4] in terms of matroids and give several characterizations of partition lattices. Our notation and terminology follow those in [8,9]. To clarify our terminology, let G, be a finte geometric lattice. If S is the set of points (or rank-one flats) in G, the lattice structure of G induces the structure of a (combinatorial) geometry, also denoted by G, on S. The size vertical bar G vertical bar of the geometry G is the number of points in G. Let T be subset of S. The deletion of T from G is the geometry on the point set S/T obtained by restricting G to the subset S/T. The contraction G/T of G by T is the geometry induced by the geometric lattice [cl(T), over ^1] on the set S' of all flats in G covering cl(T). (Here, cl(T) is the closure of T, and over ^ 1 is the maximum of the lattice G.) Thus, by definition, the contraction of a geometry is always a geometry. A geometry which can be obtained from G by deletions and contractions is called a minor of G.
This paper presents a fast partition decision framework for High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) Screen Content Coding (SCC) based on machine learning. Currently, the HEVC performs quad-tree block partitioning process to achieve optimal coding efficiency. Since this process requires a high computational complexity of the encoding device, the fast encoding process has been studied as determining the block structure early. However, in the case of the screen content video coding, it is difficult to apply the conventional early partition decision method because it shows different partition characteristics from natural content. The proposed method solves the problem by classifying the screen content blocks after partition decision, and it shows an increase of 3.11% BD-BR and 42% time reduction compared to the SCC common test condition.
Recently, the threat to the security and damage of important data leaked by devices of intranet infected by malicious code through the Internet have been increasing. Therefore, the partitioned intranet model that blocks access to the server for business use by implementing authentication of devices connected to the intranet is required. For this, logical net partition with the VDI(Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) method is no information exchange between physical devices connected to the intranet and the virtual device so that it could prevent data leakage and improve security but it is vulnerable to the attack to expose internal data, which has access to the server for business connecting a nonregistered device into the intranet. In order to protect the server for business, we suggest a blockchain based network partition model applying blockchain technology to VDI. It contributes to decrease in threat to expose internal data by improving not only capability to verify forgery of devices, which is the vulnerability of the VDI based logical net partition, but also the integrity of the devices.

As the capacity of storage devices becomes larger, most users divide them into several logical partitions for convenience of storing and controlling data. Therefore, recovering partitions stably which are artificially hidden or damaged is the most important issue in the perspective of digital forensic. This research suggests partition recovery algorithm that makes stable and effective analysis using characteristics of each file system. This algorithm is available when partition is not distinguishable due to concealment of partition or damage in partition area.

This paper presents a method of the circuit design of the multiple-valued digital logic switching functions based on the modular techniques. Fisr of all, we introduce the necessity, background and concepts of the modular design techniques for the digital logic systems. Next, we discuss the definitions that are used in this paper. For the purpose of the circuit design for the multiple-valued digital logic switching functions, we discuss the extraction of the partition functions. Also we describe the construction method of the building block, that is called the modules, based on each partition functions. And we apply the proposed method to the example, we compare the results with the results of the earlier methods. In result, we decrease the control functions, it means that we obtain the effective cost in the digital logic design for any other earlier methods. In the future research, we require the universal module that traet more partition functions and more compact module.

Unknown inputs observer(UIO) which is achieved by the coordinate transformation method has the differential of system outputs in the observer and the equation for unknown inputs estimation. Generally, the differential of system outputs in the observer can be eliminated by defining a new variable. But it brings about the partition of the observer into two subsystems and need of an additional differential of system outputs still remained to estimate the unknown inputs. Therefore, the block pulse function expansions and its differential operation which is a newly derived in this paper are presented to alleviate such problems from an algebraic form.
Many researchers have found that one of the most important characteristics of the structure of linkage disequilibrium is that the human genome can be divided into non-overlapping block partitions in which only a small number of haplotypes are observed. The location and distribution of haplotype blocks can be seen as a population property influenced by population genetic events such as selection, mutation, recombination and population structure. In this study, we investigate the effects of the density of markers relative to the full set of all polymorphisms in the region on the results of haplotype partitioning for five popular haplotype block partition methods: three methods in Haploview (confidence interval, four gamete test, and solid spine), MIG++ implemented in PLINK 1.9 and S-MIG++. We used several experimental datasets obtained by sampling subsets of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers of chromosome 22 region in the 1000 Genomes Project data and also the HapMap phase 3 data to compare the results of haplotype block partitions by five methods. With decreasing sampling ratio down to 20% of the original SNP markers, the total number of haplotype blocks decreases and the length of haplotype blocks increases for all algorithms. When we examined the marker-independence of the haplotype block locations constructed from the datasets of different density, the results using below 50% of the entire SNP markers were very different from the results using the entire SNP markers. We conclude that the haplotype block construction results should be used and interpreted carefully depending on the selection of markers and the purpose of the study.
