  • In this paper, we propose a new accurate and robust image mosaic technique of the mural underdrawing taken from the infra-red camera, which is based on multiple image registration and adaptive blending technique. The image mosaicing methods which have been developed so far have the following deficits. It is hard to generate a high resolution image when there are regions that do not have features or intensity gradients, and there is a trade-off in overlapping region site in view of registration and blending. We consider these issues as follows. First, in order to mosaic Images with neither noticeable features nor intensity gradients, we use a Projected supplementary pattern and pseudo color image for features in the image Pieces which are registered. Second, we search the overlapping region size with minimum blending error between two adjacent images and then apply blending technique to minimum error overlapping region. Finally, we could find our proposed method is more effective and efficient for image mosaicing than conventional mosaic techniques and also is more adequate for the application of infra-red mural underdrawing mosaicing. Experimental results show the accuracy and robustness of the algorithm.

  • It is very difficult to partially describe the hull shape made up of 3-dimensional free form surface. With computerizing skill in ship design, the geometric modeling technique has been developed. In hull shape modeling, the blending technique has not yet been adapted to the hull shape surface has a variable curvature. By adapting the blend surface, small surface on drawing plane is to be softly blended with given hull surface and a projecting part. This study has adapted to the ship design one of the blending methods by which offsets data of the blend surface can be obtained by the input of blend radius on two base surfaces.

  • In this paper, we propose a deformation technique based on Radial Basis Function (RBF) and a blending technique combining the deformed facial component with the original face for a Virtual Aesthetic Surgery (VAS) system. The deformation technique needs the smoothness and the accuracy to deform the fluid facial components and also needs the locality not to affect or distort the rest of the facial components besides the deformation region. To satisfy these deformation characteristics, The VAS System computes the degree of deformation of lattice cells using RBF based on a Free-Form Deformation (FFD) model. The deformation error is compensated by the coefficients of mapping function, which is recursively solved by the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) technique using SSE (Sum of Squared Error) between the deformed control points and target control points on base curves. The deformed facial component is blended with an original face using a blending ratio that is computed by the Euclidean distance transform. An experimental result shows that the proposed deformation and blending techniques are very efficient in terms of accuracy and distortion.

  • DSP technique was applied to improve the high strength characteristics of hardened cement paste using pozzolan materials as blending materials, and pozzolan reactivity was investigated. Pozzolanic materials such as diatomaceous earth, fly ash and hydrated silica were used as blending material. And also superplasticizer was added to cement for molding the specimens. After curing for 60 days, the specimens substituted with 10 and 15 wt% of diatomaceous earth showed better strength characteristics than the specimen with fly ash. The specimen substituted 7 wt.% of hydrated silica exhibited excellent strength with above 800 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • Based on the development of digital technology, Photoshop as a computer graphics program has extended its range of application to creative techniques that can express the contemporary sense of fashion illustration. Thus, the objectives of this study are to seek a new technique of fashion illustration through a study of computer graphics programs required for vitalization in this digital era and to present the application. This is done after a literature review and empirical investigation. For the literature review, specialty publications with precedent studies related to the subject of this study are examined, and internet materials with related key words are sought to establish the reference data for the study. For the empirical investigation, cases of each expression for blending mode are examined to seek the correct means of fashion illustration. Five works are created as a result. The specific contents of this study are as follows: First, the types and characteristics of blending mode are examined. Second, cases in which the blending mode is applied are analyzed to seek insight into their utilization. Third, five works are created by applying the blending mode to present the result.

  • In this paper, we propose a new technique for filling holes in triangular mesh. First, arbitrary shaped holes are detected. Second, source and target hole patches are generated through triangulation, refinement, fairing, and smoothing. Finally, the shape difference between the two patches is analyzed and a patch with enhanced features is obtained through blending between patches. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is demonstrated by applying the hole filling technique to the triangular mesh model with various shaped holes.

  • This paper suggests blending time adjusting method of braking command characteristics management and Set value test for optimizing of braking deceleration to enhance the precise position stopping. This method minimizes pneumatic-braking degree deviation by characteristics management, and secures braking stability at braking. By Set value test method, braking blending characteristics are analyzed accurately. And by optimal timing tuning at braking blending, It enhanced the precise position stopping with stabilization of deceleration To demonstrate the usefulness of these suggestion, I modeled for Deajeon Line #1. And through comparison with case of related companies, the proposed method which this paper suggested is proved to be superior to others.

  • This study focused on the direct blending of bonding agents (resorcinol, hexamethylenetetramine, NaOH) into rubber compound to simplify the composite manufacturing process. The mechanism of direct blending system was studied by comparing the following two cases. The one is direct blending of bonding agents into rubber compound and then allows the reaction (Case I). The other is mixing of reactant obtained by reaction of bonding agents (Case II). According to the morphology analysis, the Case II showed the clean interfacial area between bonding agents and matrix rubber, while the Case I created the new interphase under proper processing condition. Also, the optimum adhesion strength between SBR and nylon cord could be obtained with bonding agents whose molar ratios of resprcinol/hexamethylenetetramine was 1.2/1 in the recipes.

  • For fast and accurate motion of 6-axis articulated robot, more noble motion control strategy is needed. In general, the movement strategy of industrial robots can be divided into two kinds, PTP (Point to Point) and CP (Continuous Path). Recently, industrial robots which should be co-worked with machine tools are increasingly needed for performing various jobs, as well as simple handling or welding. Therefore, in order to cope with high-speed handling of the cooperation of industrial robots with machine tools or other devices, CP should be implemented so as to reduce vibration and noise, as well as decreasing operation time. This paper will realize CP motion (especially joint-linear) blending in 3-dimensional space for a 6-axis articulated (lab-manufactured) robot (called as "RS2") by using LabVIEW$^{(R)}$ (6) programming, based on a parametric interpolation. Another small contribution of this paper is the proposal of motion blending simulation technique based on Recurdyn$^{(R)}$ V7 and Solidworks$^{(R)}$, in order to figure out whether the joint-linear blending motion can generate the stable motion of robot in the sense of velocity magnitude at the end-effector of robot or not. In order to evaluate the performance of joint-linear motion blending, simple PTP (i.e., linear-linear) is also physically implemented on RS2. The implementation results of joint-linear motion blending and PTP are compared in terms of vibration magnitude and travel time by using the vibration testing equipment of Medallion of Zonic$^{(R)}$. It can be confirmed verified that the vibration peak of joint-linear motion blending has been reduced to 1/10, compared to that of PTP.
