A Comparative Study on Elderly Persons' Adoption Patterns of Media Information (Newspaper, Smartphone, Etc.) and Digital Divide

  • This study found the digital divide of Korean elderly persons on the basis of the 2013-2017 survey data of the perception of media information adopters. The studied media were traditional ones, such as newspaper and TV. The media dependence of those in their 20s to 60s was compared and analyzed. As a result, regarding their dependence on newspaper, elderly persons in their 60s had 20.7% on average, 13.6% higher than the percentage (7.1%) of young persons. Regarding their dependence on TV, those in their 60s had 97.6% and those in their 20s had 63.7%, so that there was a wide gap of 33.9% on average. The smartphone penetration rate of those in their 60s was 61.3%(2015-2017) on average, which tended to rise. The elderly's dependence on traditional media featured Digital Divide which is found in the informatization process. Accordingly, in order to solve their digital divide, it is required to expand education in line with their knowledge level through remote online centers, develop inclusive ICT for convenience, and change philosophical policy paradigm in the dimension of quality of life.

한국 반려동물 장례 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Awareness of the Pet Funeral in Korea)

  • 반려인 들이 늘어나고 반려동물 시장이 크게 증가하고 있으나, 반려동물의 장례 관련 연구는 미비하다. 반려동물 장례의 성장가능성을 타진하고자 반려동물 장례에 대한 인식을 설문을 통하여 조사하였다. 조사 결과 긍정적 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 반려동물 유무, 연령, 종교, 결혼 유무 등이 있었다. 인식조사 결과에서 반려동물 장례에 대한 인식은 긍정적이었으나, 현재 이를 수용할 반려동물 장례에 대한 준비는 미흡하다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 반려동물 장례의 증가가 예상됨에 따라 반려동물의 장례와 사체처리를 동물보호법 상으로 통합하고, 반려동물 장례관련 대책마련과 체계화된 반려동물 전문 장례인력 육성에 힘써야 할 것이다.

  • 미국 등 선진국에서는 장례종사자들의 질병감염에 대한 위험성과 감염예방의 중요성이 심도있게 연구되어 이에 관련된 가이드라인이 제시되고 있으나, 국내에서는 이에 대한 연구가 미비하다. 국내에서 장례종사자의 건강관리는 장례업자나 종사자 개인의 노력에 전적으로 의존하기 때문에 매우 열악하며, 장례종사자의 감염에 대한 연구 및 역학 조사 등이 매우 필요하다고 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 선진국의 장례지도사 가이드라인을 참고하여 노출가능성이 높은 질병, 개인위생, 물질적 및 공간적 관리에 대한 한국형 장례종사자 감염관리 가이드라인 모형을 제시하여 장례식장내 효율적 감염관리 및 장례종사자의 감염예방을 이루고자 하였다.

효율적인 DICOM 데이터 전송을 위한 모바일 PACS 설계 (Design of Mobile PACS for Effective DICOM Data Transmission)

  • 핸드폰과 무선망의 보급이 보편화되면서 사용자가 이동 중 또는 병원이 아닌 외부에서 무선통신망을 이용하여 의료영상을 조회하고자 하는 요구가 급속히 늘어나고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 모바일 PACS 플랫폼을 개발하여 스마트폰을 사용하는 의사와 환자가 원하는 의료영상을 저장 검색 조회 전송할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고자 한다. 제안한 시스템은 병원의 PACS 서버로부터 환자의 DICOM 영상을 조회하고, 이를 스마트폰 표준에 맞도록 변환한 후, 영상을 전송할 수 있는 모바일 기반 PACS 플랫폼이다. 이를 위해 PACS와 mPACS 그리고 사용자 간에 이루어지는 데이터 전송에 대한 플랫폼을 설계하였고, PACS 서버에 존재하는 DICOM 영상을 스마트폰에서 디스플레이하기 위한 DICOM 변환과정을 제안하였다.

정보통신망상의 불법정보에 대한 경찰책임 (The Police Responsibility about Illegal Information on the Information Communication Network)

  • 정보통신망상에 무분별하게 유통되는 각종 불법정보에 대한 기존의 법적규제는 정보통신서비스제공자의 형사적 책임과 민사적 책임을 중심으로 논의되고 있다. 하지만 본 논문에서는 정보통신망상의 불법정보 차단을 위한 경찰권행사의 대상으로서 경찰책임의 문제로 접근해보았다. 이러한 인식을 근거로 정보통신망상 불법정보의 신속한 차단을 위해 행위책임자에 대한 직접적 규제방식이 아닌 상태책임자인 정보통신서비스제공자에 대한 간접적 규제방식을 채택하고 있는 현행 정보통신망법 제44조의7 제2항의 문제점과 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

Morphological classification of the moderator band and its relationship with the anterior papillary muscle

  • This study investigated and classified the various types of moderator band (MB) in relation to the anterior papillary muscle, with the aim of providing anatomical reference information and fundamental knowledge for use when repairing the congenital defects and understanding the conduction system. The study investigated 38 formalin-fixed human hearts of both sexes obtained from donors aged 38-90 years. The MB was evident in 36 of the 38 specimens (94.7%). The morphology of the MB and its connection with the APM took various forms. The MBs that had a distinct shape were classified into three types according to their shape: cylindrical column, long and thin column, and wide and flat column. Types 2 and 3 were the most common, appearing in 15 (41.7%) and 14 (38.9%) of the 36 specimens, respectively, while type 1 was observed in seven specimens (19.4%). Type 3 was divided into subtypes based on their length. The MB usually originated from a single root (91.7%), with the remainder exhibiting double roots. The pairs of roots in the latter cases had different shapes. The originating point of the MB ranged from the supraventricular crest to the apex of the ventricle. The most-common originating point was in the middle (25 of 36 specimens, 69.4%), followed by the upper third (13.9%), the lower third (11.1%), and the top fifth (5.6%) of the interventricular septum. This study has produced fundamental anatomical and clinical information that will be useful when designing cardiac surgical procedures.

A Study on the Cremation Status of Public Cremation Facilities By Jurisdiction Area and Outside of the Jurisdiction Area Targeting Users of E-Haneul Funeral Information System in Jeollabuk-do

  • We present following research summary and implications through the analysis of the research. First, the before the opening of public cremation facilities compared to new opening of those, the number of the corpse cremation increases to annual average of 5.5% of the rate, and it has a positive effect on increasing rate of the cremation. Therefore, a policy of expanding the supply of public cremation facilities should be pursued to improve cremation rate in the area of uninstalled public cremation facilities. Second, the before the opening of public cremation facilities compared to new opening of those, the number of the corpse cremation has increased to the annual average 3,623 people(56.9%) at jurisdiction area, while it has decreased to 949 people (28.3%) at the out of the jurisdiction area. The active efforts and building the funding expansion should be made to establish public cremation facilities of the central and local governments to improve convenience of the use of public cremation facilities. Third, since the before and after opening of public cremation facilities at Jeongeup City lead to great effect on demand of jurisdiction area and out of the jurisdiction area, the cremation demand should be reduced through the supply expansion of public cremation facilities and differentiation strategy to control cremation demand at the out of the jurisdiction area, focusing on metropolitan areas with high cremation demand, such as metropolitan areas or metropolitan cities.

Korean Red Ginseng saponin fraction exerts anti-inflammatory effects by targeting the NF-κB and AP-1 pathways

  • Background: Although ginsenosides and saponins in Korea red ginseng (KRG) shows various pharmacological roles, their roles in the inflammatory response are little known. This study investigated the anti-inflammatory role of ginsenosides identified from KRG saponin fraction (RGSF) and the potential mechanism in macrophages. Methods: The ginsenoside composition of RGSF was identified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis. An anti-inflammatory effect of RGSF and its mechanisms were studied using nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production assays, mRNA expression analyses of inflammatory genes and cytokines, luciferase reporter gene assays of transcription factors, and Western blot analyses of inflammatory signaling pathways using the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated RAW264.7 cells. Results: HPLC analysis identified the types and amounts of various panaxadiol ginsenosides in RGSF. RGSF reduced the generation of inflammatory molecules and mRNA levels of inflammatory enzymes and cytokines in LPS-treated RAW264.7 cells. Additionally, RGSF inhibited the signaling pathways of NF-κB and AP-1 by suppressing both transcriptional factors and signaling molecules in LPS-treated RAW264.7 cells. Conclusion: RGSF contains ginsenosides that have anti-inflammatory action via restraining the NF-κB and AP-1 signaling pathways in macrophages during inflammatory responses.

Study on the Usage Status of Public Enshrinement Facilities and Public Natural Burial Sites the User of Public Cremation Facilities in Gyeonggi-do Using the E-Haneul Funeral Information System

  • We presented the research analysis results and policy recommendations for this study as follows. First, we findings it was analyzed that the cremation number in public cremation facilities increased at a high ratio of 7.5% per year on average. Therefore, policies to expand the supply of public cremation facilities in preparation for the continuous increase in cremation demand must be implemented as soon as possible. Second, in this study we users of public enshrinement facilities accounted for 21.0% of total cremation number, and it was analyzed that the ratio increased at an annual average of 9.0%. Therefore, as the supply reaches its limit within 1 year in Suwon City and within 2 years in Seongnam City, policies to expand the supply of public enshrinement facilities in Suwon City and Seongnam City must be implemented urgently. Third, it was analyzed through we research users of public natural burial sites accounted for a very low percentage of 1.6% of total cremation number. Therefore, policies such as creating a pleasant environment for public natural burial sites, improving facilities, and public relations activities to promote the use of public natural burial sites at the government-wide should be preceded.

수중 다중 매체 통신의 흐름제어를 위한 단편화 기법 구현 (Implementation of a Fragmentation Method for Flow Control in Underwater Multi-media Communication)

  • Underwater communication is necessarily useful for various application domains such as saving of human lives from underwater disasters, marine resource exploration, underwater military fields, underwater environment or ecosystem monitoring, fish farm monitoring and management, etc. Even though the acoustic wave has been the main underwater communication media until now, several media such as optical waves, VLF/ELF waves, magnetic fields, and infrared rays also began to be treated as possible media for underwater communication. If these underwater communicate-possible media are used mixing together, the underwater communication can be much more reliable and efficient through complementing the disadvantages of each communication media with advantages of other communication media. In fact, mixing and using multi-media for underwater communication requires the data flow control in the connection process of different media due to their communication speed gaps and bandwidth differences, and, specially, in the flow control, the appropriate message fragmentation technique is required inevitably. For this reason, this paper presents a fragmentation framework and technique necessary to the flow control in the underwater multi-media communication. In addition, through its implementation and experiments, this paper shows the feasibility on the realization of the multi-media based underwater communication.
